Probably 60% of my listed points are due to Laura. And close to half of hers are the bonus points associated with both solo trips and suites

So there are D & D+ that maybe went on 1 or 2 cruises but because of their parents status they start off as D’s or D+ instead of zero. Our son is D+ by his actual sailings at 12 years of age. We paid and he went. In this case RC wants cruise loyalty and they pass the reward onto the next generation of loyalists. If these kids choose to sail at and older age, RC hopes they return to them. They also pass it onto newlyweds and people living together as a couple, even if one of them has never been on a cruise. It’s not just children that get this perk. It’s RC’s program to run, and this is how they have chosen to do it.

Our sons were Diamond via our status with the same points until they reached 18, at which point they retained D status but reverted to their own points. They subsequently sailed enough to reach Diamond in their own right. We always sailed as a family but they haven't sailed with us for 6 years or so. However they both love cruising and I know that when they choose to do so again they will go straight back to Royal.

We are routinely seeing 800 Diamond and higher on an Oasis ship. Even if half got their status nefariously, that leaves 400 eligible for a lounge that holds less than 100. The program just grew, and cruising became a lifestyle vs a vacation.

They have become members of the Royal family and have reached the peak of the mountain. Of course 10 years from now, everything will have to be re-evaluated. There will have to be a higher level than Pinnacle. Deserve it? For buying their way up the chain? LOL. We're not naive enough to believe we've done anything special to get 343 points on RCI except by spending money. If the "peak of the mountain" of their life is being Pinnacle, then that's a very sad thing. Buy your way there by purchasing cruises and enjoy the benefits, but don't begin to think Pinns are more "special or important" than anyone else. The "peak of the mountain" on the ship is Captain, at RCI, it's CEO/President. It's not being a Pinn.

Only D+ perk we like is the 30% off DP onboard. The 40% off as a P would be nice but not happening in my lifetime. The added D+ discount is really not that much. Rare badvector Posted June 7, 2020 #146 Share Posted June 7, 2020 With all the complaints of overcrowding in the lounges, there really is a simple fix. Why not just have a single lounge for suite guests and pinnacles? If you want exclusive access to a lounge then you either pay for it through reserving a suite or by being a top tier. They might even be able to open it up to JS by doing this creating another selling point for those rooms. If that solution isn't satisfactory, then how about just dealing with the fact that the lounge is going to be crowded during happy hour and you might not find a seat. We were on Serenade last year and the lounge was absolutely packed during the evenings. No big deal, we either used our vouchers at dinner, the show or one of the many bars. Any other time than during happy hour we were able to walk right in and grab a coffee or snack and seating was always available.

We have sailed and planned cruises in suites with friends as well as people we met on board and we used to rotate going to diamond lounge or suite lounge. Now we stay with suite lounge. If a change is deemed necessary by RC then making the DL into a D+ lounge only would make sense with current Diamonds being compensated by an extra drink each in any bar during cocktail hour plus 1 free speciality coffee any time of day. Pimacles should get their own lounge which will replace their privilege to use the SL.

Concerning Coastal Kitchen, the privilege will also need to be taken away or what can be done, 2 tables could be dedicated to P's and these can be given away on a first come firsterve basis.
