And smoke filled casinos on Princess.

Not even close to "filled". The only allow smoking in a small section of the slots (which is still too much, but easily avoidable). They also have non-smoking nights. I detest smoke, but I haven't had an issue on Princess in years.

Princess used to be my preferred cruise line but now I only book Princess if they have a better itinerary than Celebrity. That is often the case for longer sailings and 100% for Alaska itineraries since Princess does Glacier Bay. As for Celebrity being a step above, only in having more pizzazz. Princess is somewhat bland. And smoke filled casinos on Princess. Yuck…

Yes did notice a lot of smoking in the casino and was quite shocked.  Fortunately don't play much and had OBC to use so no loss for me.  They have a beautiful Piazza much nicer than Celebrity and I found the pools to be not as crowded. There are 2700 onboard and ship holds 3700.  Bathroom is small for size of cabin with a verandah.  I stepped back from sink and almost landed outside the door.  😆 Met some wonderful people though.

Each time I see a bunch of new posts to this thread I think "WOW a new PUP has arrived" only to come here and be disappointed. 😪

Agreed.

If you want to discuss other things (such as Princess, MSC, HAL or other lines, etc.) while we wait, start a new thread and discuss there. It's not like this is the only thread on these boards.

Disagree

Many of the topics that are discussed relate to the general discussion of is Celebrity still worth chasing the PUP.  It’s great to get a variety of views on the wide range of topics discussed here.

I have not been on recently but recent reports are they  have not been doing the non smoking nights or the small section since October.

When the ships are at capacity Princess ships public areas are more crowded than Celebrity’s. The pools can be very crowded.

I get two, sometimes three marketing emails a day from Celebrity. I suspect they are not finished with PUP’s yet as they seem desperate.

You're missing the point. Many people elect to follow this thread and get notifications when new posts are made here. If your post isn't about PUPs, you should post that elsewhere so people don't get needless notifications about posts they don't care about.

As one who gets notifications when new post come into this thread, I hope the “thread drift” can go float away to other, more targeted threads.

to answer the question from post #6230, I made two flights by celebrity bookings during the offer period.  I received the power up points from one of them and have submitted documentation showing that I made two different bookings but I am still waiting for power of points for the second one. Of course I don’t know which one the points were granted for.  It’s been about six weeks now and still waiting for results. I have communicated with Captains Club several times about this and they tell me that the request has been submitted to the royalty desk, which is severely understaffed.

I’ve never found pool crowding to be an issue with and or the major cruise lines.

I have not found pool crowding to be an issue on Celebrity. On Carnival and NCL it varies by ship but it can be really bad. An NCL ship like Breakaway the pool area if not in Haven is limited. Princess on Caribbean class ships it can be bad. Royal Caribbean has large pool areas so never been an issue. Never been an issue on HAL.

Actually, I don't get the emails anymore for some reason.  They stopped some months ago.  I (and others) depend upon this thread for notification.  It's more than a little cumbersome to look at this thread and daily go through a great deal of banter that has absolutely nothing to do with PUP.  I do not believe that this thread needs to be "kept alive" with unrelated banter.  I am absolutety confident that this crowd (including yours truly) will make the modicum of effort required to revive it when and if a new PUP opporunity arrives.

I certainly understand thread drift.  I can pass over threads I know that have gone off into their own territory, but this one makes more of a difference.

I don't mind at all those who come in to announce they have received their points, and I don't mind the discussion about when PUP activities may or may not show up.  That's PUP talk.

I guess I am alone in my feeling that people should always stick to the topic.  If I want to read about Princess, NCL, or other cruise lines, I'll go to their cruise critic area.  I come to Celebrity to read about Celebrity.  I come to PUP to read about PUP.   I appreciate the ability on CC to ignore and or skip over topics that are of no interest to me.

I agree. When I get up and find over 20 emails regarding this thread, I assume at least one with be about PUPs. Silly me.
