Air2Sea Bullcrap

Recommended Posts

This is beyond reasonable. Used Air2Sea to book business class seats with Aer Lingus for Anthem Nov 1 sailing. Well, that didn't happen. Air2Sea tells me the tickets are non-refundable, Aer lingus tells me they are. Here's the timeline

July 24 Matthew told me to call Aer Lingus and request a refund. Called Aer Lingus and they said I get my money from Air2Sea. Percy makes me send an email request to his supervisor for a refund to Air2Sea.

October 15 - must rebook by Nov 30 to use voucher.

November 17 per Eddie, Air2 Sea is holding the vouchers and they are good until Jan 27, 2021. I can use any airline.

December 16 per Stephanie, no, voucher has to be used with Aer Lingus and I need to call Aer Lingus to get a waiver code to extend the life of the voucher. Stephani also says I could request a refund, I told her I already did that in July to no avail.

Called Aer lingus and they laughed at me, they don't give out waiver codes to customers. The ticketing agent has to call

Dec 16 per Camilla she's trying to contact Aer lingus to get waiver code, but we get disconnected.

Dec 16 called Air2Sea again and the phone connection is so bad I can't understand much of what he says. He says he'll see if he can contact Aer Lingus and he'll call me back.

So far I've spent the last hour and a half on phone calls and holds and I still haven't rebooked for Harmony Oct 31 sailing. Nothing but the run around between Aer Lingus and Air2Sea.

I had the same problem with AirLingus and another TA. I thought it will never end. I was bounced between both of them. I was even told that my vouchers expired. I called my CC and solve the problem within 3 days.

AirLingus didn't have a problem with refund but the TA was supposed to communicate with them directly. TA didn't want to do much and was even charging me cancellation fee. It was not me cancelling the flight it was Covid 19 that ruined the trip.

I am so glad charging it to my CC.

Good Luck!

If I want Biz Class seats, I would use a separate booking engine than Air2Sea: SkyLux.com. This web site offers heavily discounted Biz Class seats--more than 50-75% of the RT fare that you're offered from an airline booking engine. Here's how it works: You tell them what kind of seat location (aisle or window), trip dates, preferred departure times, airline preference, and your departure city's preferred airpor--all using email. Then their agents will find you discounted seats that fit your parameters. They will also offer you transportation from the airport to a port hotel or the ship in luxury sedans.

I used them the first time for my flight to AMS a year ago this past August for a British Isles cruise aboard Celebrity Reflection, and the flights were great, until one of the airlines failed to take aboard my walker in its cargo hold. You can read about that experience in my Reflection review for August '19. I also had great transport to my AMS hotel in a Mercedes sedan. I booked another set of RT biz class flights to and from BCN for next June's trip to the Western Med. Bottom line, please consider using SkyLux for Biz Class seats rather than Air2Sea. You'll be glad you did.

Hm, I would not recommend that company:

We had premium economy flights booked for our now L&Sed Jan Indy cruise through Choice Air (Air2Sea) and they were supposed to be non refundable as well. When we L&Sed in October our TA handled everything and we got full refunds for the flights as the seats hadn't been ticketed as of yet. I'm not sure if the same would apply but maybe find out if seats had been ticketed yet.

I would file a dispute with the credit card company, if that is what you used as payment. We had to do this with several shore excursions booked for our canceled Mediterranean cruise in May. The companies all offered full refunds if you canceled at least 24 hours in advance at the time we booked and paid, but changed their policy after Covid. All of the disputes were settled in our favor and refunded to the credit card.

How do they get discounts so steep? If it's by using other people's frequent flier points that they have purchased and are using to buy your ticket, that's against the T&Cs of almost every airline and, if the airline finds out, they'll cancel it and you're SOL.

I was on the phone back and forth for 4 hours while suffering with Covid-19. I finally blew up at Vladimir when he started to suggest I call Aer Lingus. I told him Royal was the ticketing agent and it was Royal that had to call them. I was nearly crying, I needed to lie down. I apologized and when Vlad called me back I think he said I was getting a partial refund. I don't believe it as I had submitted a refund request back in July. Air2Sea reps just tell you what they think you want to hear and they don't follow through.

Don't waist any more time with them until you try you CC company.  That is if you used one.  I have had good success with CC disputes in the past some were issues I didn't think they would deal with.

Now if I have a dispute and get blown off or don't hear back I just go to the CC company give them the information and within a few days or sometimes a little over a week my reimbursement goes through..

A lot let stress.

My only concern would be the length of time but definitely try.

I guess I was very fortunate.  I had a casino comp booked for Feb 13, 2021 (Symphony) which was recently cancelled.  I had A2S air on it and fully expected to get an evoucher for AA for that associated air.  I called today to see what had actually happened and it turns out that they fully refunded the airfare associated with that cancelled cruise.  I was really surprised.  I checked my CC and yep...it was completely refunded.  It's really a GOOD thing that they refunded my air b/c I already have 4 airline evouchers that I will need to use before they expire.  At least they didn't add another one.  I am very happy with the way that A2S handled this one !

Sorry to hear you are suffering from CoVid.   Praying for your health, as well as the A2S refund.

Thanks for making me aware of the complaints. That said, I've had better service w/SkyLux rather than dealing w/somebody down in Miami or elsewhere. Moreover, if you book Biz Class using any airline booking engine or Travelocity (my go-to booking engine), expect to pay higher RT fares, especially to Europe. I'd rather go w/SkyLux to get those discounted fares than attempt using my FF points for Biz Class seats. Moreover, would other booking engines offer you transfer services from the airport to your destination hotel using Mercedes sedans? SkyLux does.

We and our TA have requested a refund for our $8K plus airfare (NRD) booked through A2S for our canceled Aus/NZ cruise next February, which has been canceled. Those borders remain closed as well, so no flights from the U.S. can get in! A2S referred us to deal directly with the airlines (mostly Air Canada), who referred us back to A2S. Our TA was told that we would hear back from "somebody" in a couple of weeks. It has been a couple of weeks and no response but thought we would give them until after the holidays. Thanks for the info about filing a complaint with our CC! If we hear nothing after the first of the New Year, we will definitely file that grievance!

Companies like SkyLux offer consolidator fares. If there's a problem and your flight is cancelled or delayed where you miss a connection you're at the bottom of the group to get re-booked.
