Pacific Princess Future Cruise Deposits

We were booked on an April 2022 Pacific Princess cruise from Sydney to Tokyo which of course got cancelled when the Pacific got sold.  We had used Future Cruise Deposits for the deposit on that cruise.  In late January we booked an April 2022 Sapphire Princess cruise from Auckland to San Francisco to replace it.  I called Princess to transfer the FCDs from the cancelled Pacific cruise to the new sapphire cruise.  I was told it was going to take the month of February to get all the FCDs off the Pacific bookings but they did extend the due date for the deposit to early March.  I recently got that extended to mid March and a few others I know of have had their deposits extended to early May.  That Pacific Princess cruise still shows up as a future cruise in My Princess.  My question is has anyone who had their Pacific Princess cruise cancelled when she got sold had their FCDs returned to their account?  I am curious to see if they are even working on it.

I am still waiting on a FCD for our 34 day Fort Lauderdale to French Polynesia cruise on the Pacific Princess.

Attached is a link to the Pacific Princess cancellation notice.  In the document Princess states passengers have until 2/28/21 to request a refund so I assume we will start to see FCD’s in our accounts after this date.  🤞🏻🤞🏻

I was told that the FCDs from canceled cruises are all converted to FCCs plus the ever-shrinking bonus. I have tried to get the FCD placed back in my account as an FCD but was told that wasn't possible. Others have said they were successful after several calls. My TA is working on getting back six (three each) FCDs so we don't have to pay $2400 down on some cruises we booked at the end of 2022. Fingers crossed.

Had three lost bookings. I'll use the example of the Sun, since it matches your situation. The Sun got sold and our cruise left in the air. Even though the cruise got taken off Princess website, the FCD was still tied to the cruise. I called a couple times, feeling forgotten about, and was reassured it would happen. Tried to book another and was told would have to come up with additional deposit.

After roughly three months, I looked at our Princess credit page one day, for some reason, and discovered it had been funded. No notification from Princess. The FCD still showed as linked to the Sun cruise but it was freed up and transferrable to another. Last week, we booked a cruise (for 2022) using that freed up FCD from the Sun, plus we have a lot of FCC from Princess' offer.

No, you have not been forgotten about, but this will take more time than you'd like.

No information regarding the Pacific Princess. I can report that after a call and discussion with Princess we were able to get the book by dates on a whole bunch of FCD's moved to 2023 and 2024. Princess was very accommodating. I called 8am pacific time, got right through.

I too have an FCD tied up on a Pacific Princess cruise (the TA planned for October specifically).  This was cancelled many months ago.  I have a new booking I made back in November (I think) to which I'd like to apply this FCD.  I first had the deposit date pushed out to end of December, then end of January, and most recently they moved it to end of March.

Previously I'd been told that deposit push outs could be for only 30 days at a time, the most recent move, by 60 days suggests that perhaps FCD's are (or were) expected to be freed up sometime in March.  It's entirely possible I'm reading too much into the longer push interval...

We were booked on that cruise. As others mentioned, there is a 2/28/21 deadline for requesting a refund, so I would not expect much processing to start before 3/1.

However, after the cruise was cancelled I called Princess and told them I wanted my FCD restored and the FCCs that had been used restored. Within a week it was accomplished.

Cruise will show up in your bookings and Personalizer until they do process it.

My PVP had no problem getting my FCD back as FCD not FCC so that it would cover a deposit in full. I'm not as concerned with even more OBC I just don't want to hand over even more cash until they restart sailing. If Queensland is cancelled I want that FCD back or $100

A quick update.  I just checked my Princess account and $125 in FCC’s were applied for my cancelled cruise to Tahiti on the Pacific Princess along with a $100 Casino Credit.

This topic had me checking my Personalizer and I would say that about a week ago nothing had changed.  Our Fall 2021 voyage on PACIFIC in Med area still shows as an upcoming cruise, but the FCD/FCC situation had been updated.  Takes a bit of analysis to see what happened as I don't have a "before" picture of the webpage and I had booked four B2B2B-B voyages for Fall 2022 and used four FCD's each for those bookings.

Our PACIFIC booking also had FCC applied from another cancelled voyage - in addition to our FCD deposits.  We also had $350 additional credit from Gift Card bonuses - those are now expired, but the last time some of those funds rolled forward, none was lost.

There is one change and it was posted effective today (3/2/21).  There is a new FCC posted of $275, plus a bonus FCC of $68.75 (25% of the first amount).

The original FCD applied to PACFIC, plus the original FCC and bonus are still showing as attached to the cancelled PACIFIC cruise.

It looks like the info is in midst of being fully updated.

TBH, I am not sure how Princess came up with the $275 amount (the 25% part is obvious).

Mystery solved.

Our $550 total FCC is from our FCD deposits on the PACIFIC voyage, plus our $350 in Gift Card amounts, divided 50-50 with spouse and then 25% bonus each.

My prior "Covid FCC's" are still sitting on the booking which has not yet been worked and so are still tied up.  Those FCC's were to be used by 5/1/22, but I was told that once they free up, I can call in and request a deferral so they can be applied to our Fall 2022 booking.

Princess has not yet got to working the Fall 2021 PACIFIC cancellations I was told.

Our's was processed yesterday.  We got the $100 FCD converted to FCC with a $25 goodwill FCC on top of that.  Seriously thinking of calling to have them change it back to an FCD given that the OBC would be higher than the bonus.  Of course this assumes that we will actually be back on board a ship someday!

We had some of ours returned today.  We received the $100 FCD plus the $25 goodwill which I have had our Planner use as a deposit on a cruise that we booked yesterday.  We are still owed the OBC and the actual cruise is still on my Personaliser.  I guess that will disappear when we have received everything that is owing.

We were booked on the cruise from Sydney to Tokyo.  An earlier cancelled cruise on the Pacific from Tahiti to Sydney which was in early December only took 6 weeks before all our credits were restored.

I called today and asked Princess to put the $100 and the $25 FCCs on another cruise as a deposit. They did that and they also gave us the associated OBC ($300 OBC). So worked just like a FCD.

Princess has not yet got to working the Fall 2021 PACIFIC cancellations I was told.

Princess has 99% completed processing our PACIFIC Fall 2021 cancellation.  As of today, the voyage is gone from Future Cruises list and the prior FCC's from Pause 3 are restored in the Cruise Credits listing and no longer attached to the PACIFIC booking.  They are documented as "sail by 5/1/2022", but my understanding is Princess will apply them to a Fall 2022 booking as long as I request it now (or before 5/1).  We have such booking(s).

Interesting side note (the 1% left) is that the original FCD applied as deposit on the PACIFIC booking is still listed in Cruise Credits as attached to the booking.  I imagine that may disappear over-night tonight or some day soon.

So, bottom line is that Princess has restored back everything as expected and posted the promised FCC amounts due to the PACIFIC cancellation.  More money in the "Bank of Princess" to apply to Fall 2022 which surely will sail, n'est pas? ??? !!!

We just got our FCCs released back to our account today that were loaded up on our now cancelled Pacific Princess July 2021 cruise. However, the FCDs we used to initially secure the cruise are still linked to the booking. Hopefully, we'll see those freed up sometime soon.

I believe the word should be "disappear" and not "freed up" as we received equivalent dollars in the FCC, plus we got 25% bonus - unless you elected to a straight refund.

We asked for our FCDs to be returned in this particular case and as of 5 minutes ago they were still tied to our cancelled Pacific Princess booking number. TBH, with all the cancelled cruises we've had, sometimes we've gotten the FCDs returned in tack back to our accounts and sometimes we received $100+$100 in FCCs with the associated FCDs disappearing. But since we currently have 5 FCDs each sitting in our accounts, we really don't care how they're refunded to us, as long as we get something back.

Hi Wayne, did you also get the normal FCD OBC applied to your cruise, using the FCC

Cheers

Initially it was not there but I called back and the representative was able to add it.  She put me on hold and it seemed like she needed to get a supervisor's approval to do it.

Same for us, the Princess rep put us on hold to speak to guest services and got our OBC applied to the cruise we booked using the FCC from the cancelled Pacific Princess cruise.

We were booked on the  Pacific Princess Tahiti Christmas 2021 cruise.  Last week I called Princess to request that the FCDs used for the Tahiti cruise be reinstated instead of being converted into FCCs (with the additional $25 in goodwill FCC).  The agent I spoke to said it couldn't be done.  But I learned on CC not to take no for an answer.  Thus, after booking an Australia/New Zealand Christmas 2022 cruise and using the FCCs ($125 per person) as deposit, I called Princess again.  I explained that I used the money from my canceled cruise's FCDs to pay for the deposit but that since that was a FCC and not a FCD, we hadn't received OBC.  I was placed on hold for quite a while but got $150 in OBC as if I had used FCDs for this new booking.  Success!  Thank you CC Community!  😁

Glad it worked out for you, but it can be done as it was done for me for my cancelled Pacific Princess cruise when I called Princess and requested it.
