I don’t know why people are having different experiences but in their FAQs it states that orders placed on weekends will be processed on the following business day (maybe Tuesday on this holiday weekend?) so I’m surprised that any are being processed this weekend.

Q: I placed my Princess Cruises Gift Card order on a weekend.  When will it be processed?
A: All Gift Card orders placed over the weekend will be processed the following business day.  Please allow 5-7 business days to receive the Gift Card using standard shipping.

I wonder if that is only for physical gift cards that have to be mailed? I was also surprised to receive an email response from the gift card department today.

Well that was fast.  Now I feel dumb for "complaining" in my above post.  No idea what flagged the ordered, and the verification people did not say either.  All of my purchased e-gift cards, and bonus cards have arrived, within minutes of the verification dept's email.   I will wait a couple of days, and try to purchase another batch.

sorry to be stupid but I have a question. Do you get any discounts on the gift cards for being Elite? I know I am being greedy with the $50 extra gift card but Princess is greedy too.........lol If the answer is yes how do they know you are Elite

Thanks in advance

Hopefully that’s the reason why some people are getting the bonus card even though they use the term Princess Gift Card to denote both physical & electronic cards. Who knows why some orders are being limited to one $500 card & others get multiple cards with $50 promotional gift cards.

Wish i knew what went wrong on my other orders. Emailed the gift card support and they couldn't figure out why the order wouldnt go through. 2nd verification Didn't work. Whats crazy is i got it to work once and did nothing different. I gave up, i have a bunch of bounce back charges that will drop off after weekend (verified by both card and site). At this point i’m too wary of trying anymore

I just did it I got 8. I did 4 and then 4 again so I paid a total of $4000 and got the extra $50 on each. I am going to try again for another 2 as I have 2 B2B cruises in December. It says on their web site the sale is only thru the 12th. Maybe they aren;t paying attn since 4th of July

Whoever posted this thank you very much

Can I use the gift cards to pay part of my balance due on a cruise that I booked through non-Princess travel consultant?  If so, do I need to send my physical gift cards to the outside TA?

I think you got your answer on another thread?  You just give them the numbers OTP.

I see one posting indicating that they got $1000 of bonus cards by buying $10,000 of regular gift cards.

Here's what the asterisk says on the Princess page for buying.

*Order a $500 Princess Cruises Gift Card in a single transaction and receive a $50 Promotional gift card. Promotional Gift Card Offer is applicable to orders placed from 7/2/2021 6:00AM PDT to 7/12/2021 11:59PM PDT, while supplies last. Princess Cruises® reserves the right to terminate this promotion at any time. The Promotional gift card is limited to one (1) per customer during this promotion and will be delivered to the recipient as a digital gift card only. Promotional gift card expires on 5/1/2022.

.... one per customer.....    So I can see if you have two people in a cabin, I would think that's 2 customers.

The FAQs state that the only restrictions for payment are for Land Excursions & eZAir. That would appear to allow payments for things such as insurance & taxes/fees…can anyone confirm having that experience?

Q: Are there any restrictions in using the Princess Cruises Gift Card towards the payment of products and services offered by Princess Cruises?
A: The Princess Cruises Gift Card can be used for most Princess products and services, with the exception of payment towards Land Excursions and eZAir.

How can people justify spending $500+ during a pandemic and so much uncertainty?

You have 0 clue what will happen to you physically, emotionally or mentally months from now.. there could be work restrictions, family restrictions, government restrictions, more outbreaks, unexpected delays, cancelations.

No one is that well off financially to be able to gamble with $500, many of us are barely scrapping by after the blow to the economy from cv19.

And if by chance your gift card can be salvaged due to a cancelation you are then stuck to find another Princess cruise, locked as a trapped customer.

Can you see its a massive cash grab by Princess to help fuel the recovery and its the cruise passengers often noted for their easy tourist dollars and poor financial intelligence who are lining up to bolster Princess treasury, wake up people.

Once again, Oops. I messed up. Used FCC for cruise fare & gift cards for everything else. I just can't get it right today

The pandemic has lost and is about over and done.  Didn't you get the memo?

Looks pretty good out there to me:  https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restrictions

Meanwhile, we in ON have the most restrictions in N.A., if not most of the free world.

Sorry if you had a big financial hit as you implied.  Sorry, but I see you as one of the too many Canadians who have been scared to death by government lockdowns and constant "news" about Covid.  Hope you are vaccinated and did not suffer from catching Covid.

ETA:

I am not sure I would have been as 'level' above if I had first read your post #19 in "Money for Casino" thread where it seems casino gambling is just the ticket to win back your cruise fare.  Now, that is true gambling.

My point is that just because you can afford to spend $500 on a gift card, doesn't mean you should and in most cases with any type of gift card its a waste. Gift cards have been economically studied for years and have been proven to time and time again benefit the corporation not the user.

Unless your cruise is next week you most definately should NOT be buying gift cards.

Any other decision will shine light on your poor money management and financially savvy mindset, yes I am calling those out who are foolish enough to partake in this ridiculous promotion.

What?  Why are you so concern what other people do with their own money?

All I can say is you have vastly underestimated my intelligence, financial situation and financial savvy.

Does anyone with a Princess Visa card know if this would qualify for the usual double points on Princess purchases?

Yes, I double checked my statement to confirm. I purchased $1000 during the Mother’s Day promo and received 2,000 points.

Our vax rate is at 80% and we're fully open. In fact more jobs than people willing to work. But if you're still in the throws of it I can understand your apprehension. (Last year I used extra funds to keep 3 afloat instead of traveling -- Dtr, Son, GS)

This is from a professional gambler. Now I paid for college on the card tables but THAT was gambling during a time when I was young enough to lose. Securing a 10% discount on 2 cruises (8/21 & 12/21) isn't gambling IMHO

Aren’t you generous, giving out unsolicited financial advice….and in such a friendly manner. Thank you for complimenting my “financially savvy mindset” 😊
