The minute the CDC allows, Oceania will go back to their prior formats.  "Chef Steph cooks, you taste at the end" should be allowed now IMO.  Full hands-on with only 12 people (1 per workstation) may take longer, but apparently it was also not a perfect format because with each person doing all the prep work it took a long time to complete the first recipe.  But there is no revenue stream now, so I'm sure Oceania will want to get back to that...

in the old format the prep work was done by the culinary staff  you just cook & eat  LOL

One of us would  cook most of the dishes anyway  so not sure why it would take longer

Just telling you what Chef Steph told us.

The first bite tells me that I am in the South

As a foreigner who has regularly visited America since 1980, we reckon we know we are in the South when people refer to us as "y'all" instead of "you folks/guys".

One ill (non-Covid) or injured performer could derail a “production” show. And I have yet to see anyone in the casino.
Also, let’s not forget that today was supposed to be a port day in San Juan (where there might have been crew trades occurring, including performers, etc.) All sorts of reasons other than the worst case scenarios could be responsible for changes.

Unfounded rumors are the “stones” that should concern you.

Commenting here mostly so I can follow.  But while here, I'll add my two cents' worth: If the ship ended up being in a port instead of at sea, a lot might be changed due to rules in a particular country...shops, casinos, possibly even bars.  Or maybe the casino staff had a previously scheduled day off.

Cooking classes, under CDC requirements, are demo only – but no charge.  There are five different topics:  Fish, Jacques, Knives, Red Ginger, and Global Traveler [a selection of topics from several of the previous hands-on classes].  We were able to attend three of them.

CDC requirements are over as the Conditional Sail Order has expired. This must just be Regent taking a little extra precaution. It is puzzling why the change since you have the same number of people in the same space. Maybe Covid doesn't occur when only the Chef is cooking?

I’m guessing you’d have to check with “Host Jazzbeau” about how to keep it alive.

Because this is NOT a roll call, it will stay alive as long as someone posts something.

WHY??

Even the roll calls never die  they just fade away  when people stop posting

But if you come from New York or New Jersey, "youz'all" is plural

To take this one step further: For native “boomer” Brooklynites, singular or plural would usually not matter. The both formal/informal singular/plural term is often:

”Hey you... Yeah, YOU!”

Our cruise documents arrived today, more than three weeks after we cancelled this cruise and two weeks after the Riviera sailed.

Strange that they came on the same day that the Riviera was due to dock back in Miami.

I'm glad to hear that people had a good time.  We made the right decision for us, and will look forward to using our Future Cruise Credit.

You have to take off your mask to eat, that's the difference.

CDC is no longer a requirement, but the NCLH group has voluntarily agreed to continue abiding by the new 'recommendations.'

Uber brought us back to the Homewood Suites and our van – loaded up with all our snow bird stuff – was sitting in the lot safe and sound.  That wouldn't have happened in NY or SF!  Had a great day sightseeing in Miami and off to a nice Cuban Restaurant for dinner now.  I love Miami!

Thanks for trying to inform on this thread.  Which Homewood Suites?  With the increase in airfares, we might drive next time
Last night, at home in NJ, we got our cruise document package delivered for this cruise.  Too little, too late.

Homewood Suites Miami Airport West, 3590 NW 74th Ave, Miami 33122

We choose it because it had a special "Cruise Miami Package" that included 15 days parking [lots of hotels have 7 day parking packages, but I couldn't find any others that would cover this 14 night cruise].

It's an older property (bathtubs with shower) but every unit is a real two-room suite.  It's in a cluster with a Hilton Garden Inn and a non-Hilton hotel all apparently run by the same owner, and secluded enough that it makes its own little enclave.

Next time I will call the Hilton Garden Inn (3550 NW 74th Ave) and see if they will offer me a suitable parking package.  [They were very informal about the parking here, as the combined lot for these three hotels is very large.]
