RazorPokesHoney Posted February 23, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2022 I fly with a pair of foldable travel scissors in my carryon. I can't see why these wouldn't be acceptable.

Pyrate13 Posted February 23, 2022 #10 Share Posted February 23, 2022 I think it depends on who is doing security. I had a small vise grip that I used to take everywhere, including many cruises. On the pride back in Dec. the guy at the x-ray in security made me remove the tool and dispose of it. He claimed I could use it to disable the ship. I asked him how the hell could I disable that big ship with a 3-and a half inch vise grip and if that was possible perhaps the ship is not built very well to start with. 😮
aeweil Posted February 23, 2022 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2022 I always have a small pair of scissors in with my knitting bag. And knitting needles (oh my!). No issues on ship or a plane…. and that’s one reason why someone might want to bring scissors!
vamartha Posted February 23, 2022 #12 Share Posted February 23, 2022 I carry a Micra 2.5" Leatherman in my makeup bag along with a corkscrew that Carnival gave me years ago. The Leatherman has been on every single cruise I've taken over 18 years. Has scissors and a knife.

Same here. I've carried my Swiss Army knife, the last being last august. When we went through the metal detectors of course we had to empty out pockets and put it in a tray. They saw the knife and didn't utter a word.

dan-o 1 Posted February 24, 2022 #22 Share Posted February 24, 2022 i had a 2.5" pocket knife that I carried with me everywhere, not anymore though. They took it from me last week boarding the Magic. I told the lady to give it to her son because it was extremely convenient to have. She was sorry to take it from me but was only doing her job. I understood. If you want to keep it, leave it at home. fresnel468 Posted February 24, 2022 #23 Share Posted February 24, 2022 Corkscrew with a 1 inch foldable "knife" in the handle was taken by security in Galveston last year. They said the corkscrew was OK but the built-in knife was not. I am sure it would have gone through without issue in checked luggage.
