I can certainly understand that decision, for us, even though we live in UK, so much closer than you, and even though I've worked in Italy for several years so not too worried about the language issues, I would not currently be happy to cruise with Italy as a final destination.

Mark, as you are in the UK right now, you have fewer issues regarding flights home. As there is no test requirement there would not be any reason to test.
I suspect many from the UK have simply disembarked in Civitavecchia knowing that they have Covid, but also knowing that they would  be fine to fly home.

I'm sure you are right, but I would never plan on ignoring local laws/regulations even if I could (which is somewhat ironic given this it Italy we are talking about 🙂 )...

All of this will improve in time and Italy will still be there, so happy to wait, and fortunately although far from young, we do still have a good few cruising years ahead of us.

I know of zero contact tracing that happened on Edge TA.  An official positive test seemed to only impact the individual(s) in the room with +

If there were any positives, you can bet close contacts were being tested whether you were aware of it or not.

I don’t think they are looking to open cans of worms anymore.

For everyone who has been so supportive and kind, I finally tested negative.

Our bags are packed and we are awaiting reassignment.

We will fly home tomorrow.

So many of you have lifted me up in hope.

I pray none of you ever find yourselves in my position.
Thank you.

Excellent!

Have a great flight, I know you'll finally be able to relax once the wheels leave the ground, but it will be great to just get outside as a start.

All my bags are packed
I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin'
It's early morn
The taxi's waitin'
He's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome
I could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

I’m so happy and relieved for you!! Finally!

Safe travels to you both. Thank you for keeping all of us plugged into the realities of COVID and cruising.

Are you getting off at the next available port or is that cruise at it’s end?

Well I know I was in close contact with a positive in a public area, under a concierges nose and we weren't contacted at all......

There is no place like home.  I hope time will help heal all you have endured, and you are soon laughing about your adventures as a sea based..."Charlie on the MTA".  Stay well and thank you for sharing.
