There are some brands that have ear loops.

I haven't seen any N95s with ear loops however I have seen KN95 with ear loops.  Could you recommend a place where I can find them?  I looked all over Amazon.

I can answer that...best guess after years working in a hospital. In the hospital...everything that came out of the room went into a red bag. On the ship?? My guess:

Red bags are for anything that has a "mess" on it, linens, etc.

Clear bags are for general trash, like the disposable dishes.

If you read the info (I had it) on the desk.  Red is garbage,  white is laundry that they will do for you ....

Yeah, it's fantastic if you count unauthorized and unscheduled stops at the airport and at a gas station to buy water as secure.

So was this airport stop and water stop in Canada or USA ? If Canada how did you “ clear” Border  crossing  if “ seal” was broken on bus? Hope you are feeling better as it has been a few days.

Legitimate N95's never have earloops. We wear KN95's because they have earloops, which are more comfortable but often don't keep the mask as tight against your face as an N95. We get our KN95's from Armbrust American. They are made in the USA to KN95 standards.

This was just posted on Facebook about quarantine on the Royal Princess. Stay safe out there, and I hope everyone recovers quickly.

Wow. Almost unbelievable.

As I read this, they were on a 7-day cruise and forced to remain on board in isolation for an additional 7 days.

Good question, airport stop was in Canada.

Water stop in Washington, violation of isolation protocol.

Waiting for our airport ride, will feel a heck of a lot better tonight in our own bed.

That’s what I read from it also.  And it seems to be more than hearsay; they were traveling in the same group.

I don't know about others but it's the only way to indicate a following for any thread. Using the "Following" drop down option doesn't work for me. Neither does email.

Using the “following” button, I request an email daily summarizing posts I follow. But, when I’m wanting to really stay on top of posts, I keep a browser open set to “activity/my activity streams/content I follow”. Sometimes if I’m spending too much time on CC I also have another browser open set to “activity/all activity” so I can scan for feeds of interest.

Hope that helps… see screenshots.

I've found that on some platforms I need to occasionally refresh the page to update the stream. This is particularly true on my Android tablet in Chrome.

The stop in Washington was perfectly legal.

The "sealing" of the bus was so no person and no item left the bus while in Canada. That would continue until going through USA immigration and customs at the border.

Once the bus (with the people and possessions) was in the USA, it no longer needed to be sealed.

Yes the stop in Washington was perfectly legal but  was perfectly improper.

Looks to me that the desperation to make money is overriding an rational thought.  I cancelled my cruise after your report.  I hope to cruise again one day.  I also hope to use all of my FCC’s but I certainly will not set foot on a ship any time soon.

I have not had covid yet either.  When I had to wear a mask I wore a very comfortable single ply, jersey fabric mask.  Now it is still stuffed in the bottom of purse just in case.  So far I have not had to drag it out for over a year.

I wore mostly fabric masks throughout the pandemic subsequent to contracting it onboard back in 3/20.

I don’t know how I missed it but how do they seal the bus?

Pre Covid this was a common program from Vancouver to Seattle for cruise guests. By not "entering" Canada, they did not need to stop at the border. However, to do so, the guests would have to be escorted through a "sterile" routing from the ship directly to the bus (no other passengers/workers/anyone could go through here or the program would be shut down for the day). Once on the bus, door was closed and several stickers would be placed over the door with numbers that were called in to the border guards. Once the bus arrived at the border, the guard would take a quick look at the stickers to ensure they were not broken (if they were, it showed the door had been open) and if all intact the bus would be waved through with no inspection. If the stickers were broken or tampered with, all passengers would need to get off and go through regular border inspection.

When we have done this, we still had to have all our passports collected at the USA side of the border (while we stayed on the bus), checked, and then returned to us before the bus could continue on to Seattle.

If your email address of choice has changed, you must make sure to have your Cruise Critic email address of record changed too. That is where your Cruise Critic emails are sent. Please see How to: Change your Cruise Critic Email Address or User NameAlso, please make sure you have the email address cruisecritic@invisioncloudcommunity.com white listed and/or on your safe senders list & in your Address Book contacts.

Not sure how many Cruise Critic email notifications you were receiving per day or at a time in the past, but it could be your email provider was aggressive to prevent spam. Thinking that multiple emails in a row from Cruise Critic would be spam, they bounce one of the Cruise Critic emails back to Cruise Critic. Once one of the Cruise Critic notification emails to you is bounced back to Cruise Critic, then the Cruise Critic software stops sending you any further notification emails. Please email CC Help Jenn, Senior Community Support Specialist, at help@cruisecritic.com and mention your user name. Explain the above possible bounce back situation and ask if the situation applies to your Cruise Critic account. IIRC, CC Help Jenn can possibly investigate for the bounce back situation and possibly correct.

Personally, I no longer use email for Cruise Critic notifications. I have all mine set to Notification List. I just click the Notifications bell to get the clickable list for all of mine.

Regarding your settings for the Notifications bellfirst make sure you are logged in with your user name & password. Click your user name located upper right over the small Search bubble in the blue bar. Next, click Account Settings. Under Other Settings, click Notification Settings. On the next page to appear, click the little down arrow to open each section and make sure each is set for your preference.

Also, click this link: Manage Followed Content You will see a list for Topics I Follow.

  • To the right of each topic you can select Change Preference and make your choice OR you can completely Unfollow the topic.
  • You can also check the boxes next to each topic to make changes to multiple topic notification preferences at once
  • If you use our Gallery Feature, make sure to look at the left of the page when you are viewing your managed content.  There is a menu there to select the tabs for albums and images to choose how you receive notifications for items you follow there.

Hope something in this reply will be helpful and you can return to using the Follow feature! 🤞

Happy sails,

KN94 is the south korean version and just as effective.

KN94s are 1% (verses 95%) less effective.  I use the KN94s for comfort.  They also make smaller masks for children.  I have remained "safe" for 2 years with these masks and recommend them to others.  I have a ton of N95s and they are sitting on my shelf.  What good are they if I don't find them comfortable for long periods of time?  I do break down and use a N95 when on a plane.

Well over here in isolation on Enchanted Princess we have had nothing like your letter and one of our complaints is that it would be useful to have had something similar. I am quite alarmed by your laundry instructions.

I sent a mixed bag 2 days ago and didn't know I had to separate them and check if they would stand a high temperature wash. Just something else to worry about.

We had a call from the Dr about getting home. She told us that we couldn't get a taxi. We know that this is rubbish because P&O and Cunard send covid positive passengers home by taxi. Fortunately we have a family member who lives close to Southampton who can take us and fortunately we also live near the Port. The Dr also told us we had to isolate for a few days when we got back. This is also rubbish as there is no requirement to self isolate in England.

Then we had another call from someone else yesterday who gave us different information and said we'd get a letter today telling us what will happen when we disembark on Friday. You'd think they would have all this sorted by now.

Btw we had no instructions about red bags and clear bags. We don't have a laundry bag so I used the clear one for laundry and also for dirty towels.
