"Back to Back Cruises"....Do you have to get off the ship to reboard?

Unfortunately that doesn't ever happen at Port Canaveral.

Actually I remember I also did NCL out of Port Canaveral August 2022.

(memories of sailing out of there are vivid since I flew in the afternoon the day before departure...getting a reliable shuttle to get to port was impossible at that time unless I wanted surge Lyft/Uber. Luckily I got a good one from my hotel the next morning)

Same process as all the others.

There were few of us--maybe 30? Not sure if that mattered.

(I've been cruising a lot in the last 2 years...easy to forget some details answering on the fly--had to go back & look at my notes!)

Let us know how the move goes. We are doing 12 night transatlantic in the Haven and moving to club balcony for 10 night Med. Price was double for the 10 night Haven! Want to see how transition is.

Sure will, change over day is 12th Jan. your trip sounds amazing.

For folks who have done a B2B does NCL usually treat each cruise separately for your guest account, or do they roll over your bill and any OBC to the second cruise?

Treated as separate in terms of reservation numbers, & so forth.  If you have any non-refundable OBC (for stockholders shares or whatever) you must use it during the cruise for which it was assigned, or it will be lost.  However, they will carry your final folio balance forward to the second cruise, and will hit your credit card only once at the end of the second cruise.

We just finished a B2B on the Escape from PC (2 and 9 Dec sailings). As trivimp said, they combined our folio. They also carried over our refundable OBC from the canceled stop at GSC. We did not have any non-refundable OBC, so I cannot comment there.

They adjusted our itinerary so it looked like we were on a 14 day cruise. Therefore, on the app it would say, for instance, we were on day 10 of the cruise, but the Freestyle and everything else said day 3 (or whatever it really was).

What was also a bit odd and troubling was that all of our reservations for shows, dining, spa, and excursions disappeared from the app on the second cruise. Same happened to our friend traveling separately who was also on the same B2B. Fortunately all our plans were still in the ship's system, so we were not turned away at any venue.

Also annoying was that we did not get any of the Club Balcony perks the second week. No bubbly, no treats, except for the last round (cookies) and a warm bottle of Duc after we complained twice to our cabin steward and to Guest Services.

Turnaround day was as described by others in this thread. We all met in the District Brew House (as instructed by the letter in our cabin) where they had a nice spread of coffee, juice, lemonade, pastries and finger sandwiches. At the appointed hour we were escorted to ding off the ship, then go to the terminal for the facial recognition scan, then after a brief wait escorted back to ding on the ship. Easy and low stress.

that hasn't been my experience the past couple of years on four different B2Bs. both nonrefundable and refundable OBC carried over to the second cruise (in addition to the another round of fresh OBC i generally receive on the second cruise).

this is a known glitch and has been documented by many on several posts here on cruise critic. as you stated, the reservations are still there, but don't show in the app. if you visit the restaurant reservations desk, they can confirm that they are there, print out a copy of your reservations (on little slips of thermal paper, like a receipt) and usually and somehow reestablish the reservations in the system so they show. in most cases, i have found that the reservations return to the app on their own with 36 hours.

I've only done one B2B and all OBC, expenses, etc. just carried over.  I had unused Shareholder OBC and it carried over.

I'm a newbie to B2B.  I've only done one, this past April.  It was Bliss in Seattle.  I got a letter a few days before the switch.  I could leave everything as I wanted in the cabin.  We had to get a new key card from guest services on disembark day, and then meet in one of the bars.  Most wanted to get off the ship to explore Seattle, so they did so with certain instructions.  Three of us wanted to stay on the ship.  We were escorted down to the disembark point (still on the ship) where the NCL rep told the scanning folks that we were the B2Bs who were staying on the ship.  I think they scanned our cards and may have had us look into that recognition thingy.  We were then excused to hang around on the ship.  After that, it was just chill and look forward to meeting my new friend @graphicguyon leg two.

B2Bs are REALLY cool.  Like the saying goes, "once you've gone B2B, you'll never look back" 🤣

disclaimer: there is no such saying (until now?)

I liked B2B so much that I now have seven more booked.  No, that is NOT hyperbole.  I actually have seven B2B's booked between now and 2026.😎

🐀heaven:

Book early.

Book often.

Book inside (i.e. cheap).

Book B2B.

B2B = twice the fun, half the hassle

I've done B2B on Carnival but never NCL. I am booked for my 1st one on the Escape out of NYC in 2025. I can't believe how excited I am about this one. I have waited so long to sail on Escape and for it to be in NYC where I don't have to fly to, I definitely signed up for that B2B when I saw I could do it with no repeats. Bahamas and Bermuda.

THIS!

Thanks so much for this info - this drove me crazy for the shows.  I like having multiple opportunities to see the shows.  I usually try to do the shows on the first leg of my cruise just in case (C-19, broken ankle, power outage, canceled due to it being unsafe) all of these have happened causing shows to be cancelled so I double up on the reservations and if it's good I go again and if it's not I cancel.  I rarely make dining reservations so that's not an issue.

I did not realize the latitude vouchers were such a big deal.  I had one left over so when I got to my "3rd" voucher on the 2nd leg - that was flagged and dining police came to talk to me.  Apparently, that is not something that carries over, although they did let me use it.

This is exactly what I do.  I couldn't cancel SIX fast enough on the second leg of my April B2B. 🤣

DW had no arguments.  In fact, as we exited the first showing she told me that she "knew" that I hated it.  I hadn't said a word.  That's what decades of marriage leads to.  😎

They are treated as two separate cruises for such things as Latitudes points and benefits, but your on-board account from the first cruise will be rolled over into your account for the second cruise.  You will then receive a single charge to your credit card for the total.  This is true even if you have to change staterooms between cruises.  Also, if you have any refundable credit on your account from the first cruise, the credit will carry over to the second cruise and applied to any charges applied to your account in the second cruise.

The same happened to me with non-refundable credit.

YO! Chiefmate. For the 1st time in a very long time, i totally disagree with you. I thought SIX was amazing. When the show came here locally we went to see it again. My grandson took his girlfriend (who is not a theater lover) and she loved it also.

i would see it again and again. What didnt you like about it. The girls in the play are non-stop energu throught. Never the less, if we ever make it to the same cruise, the 1st drink is still on me. LOL

What didn't I like about it?  Everything!  But, certainly the "non-stop energy" was a huge part of the "not like."  I prefer "chill."  This wan't chill. 😎

Looking forward to that drink someday brother!

Does anyone have b2b experience they can share regarding Port Canaveral?  We board on Sunday and are curious how it will work.

Someone already linked my review that has written comments.  Here are the instructions they will send to your cabin.

Proud to hear you testify.  We usually manage to burn through our OBC by booking tours while on board, so I don't recall ever having experience carrying over any non-refundable credit.  Not being sure about that, it seemed better to report on only what I have experienced myself.  Good to know that you have carried over non-refundable credit on a B2B.

On a B2B do you need to check in online for 2nd leg?

I take this question literally to mean do you have to check in while "on a B2B" for the second leg. and the answer is no, provided the first leg is fewer than 21 days.

online checkin starts 21 days out.. and you do indeed have to check in online for the second cruise. but, provided the first cruise is fewer than 21 days, you will have presumably already checked in prior to boarding the ship for the start of the first leg.

so, no, you don't have to checkin for the second leg while on a B2B.
