Good morning.  Happy Thursday.

Thanks for the Report.  Love those maps.

Cool with rain in the forecast for this evening.  I cleaned lots of windows yesterday, it was nice to see the sun.  I hope the rain doesn't spot up the clean windows.

It doesn't take a genius to celebrate scientists.  I ask lots of questions.

I'm not sure about the quote.

The meal sounds great, looking forward to seeing recipes.  Not sure about the drink or the wine.

We were in Lerwick several years ago on the Ryndam.

Prayers for everyone on the Care List.  Cheers for all the celebrations.  Thanks for keeping us informed.

Have a wonderful day.  Stay safe.

Greetings from beautiful Port Charlotte

67 this morning heading up to 87 which will be our warmest day so far in 2024, mid 80s continue until we have a cool front coming in next Wednesday

Good selection of days and a funny quote from Joan Rivers

I’ll give the meal a try, is the Rocket Man cocktail named after Elton John

My sis and her husband will visit us next week as they are spending a month in Clearwater escaping the lousy Chicago weather

Heading to the beach today at Boca Grande for some rest and relaxation as we recover from the craziness of our move

Have a great day and stay well

Good morning Dailyites and thank you for the Daily Report.

Warm morning here with a "fog" of pollen outside. The forecast high for today is 83.

I hope everyone here has a great day!

Good morning.

Thank you for today's daily and fleet reports.

It is raining and 52°F here.

Today is Albert Einstein day.

Today's food sounds nice.

It was shameful that it took until 2017 for Muirfield to admit Lady golf membership.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Good wishes for a good day for Y'all.

Good morning friends!  It will be a nice sunny 80 degree day here but right now it's only 48. This morning DH has his annual physical appointment so let's see if they suggest he have another shingles shot too.  Then he can moan and groan about his tender upper arm!  Mine's still hurting.😬

Thank you Jacqui @kazu and Roy @rafinmd for posting the Fleet Report and Daily as well as the fleet location map for Rich @richwmn.  I read the good news about the Volendam being able to call at Bora Bora this month.  Fingers crossed that actually happens for them.🚢

Some great days to recognize this morning.  Scientists bring service to the human race, and genius day celebrates folks like Albert Einstein.  We all learn by asking questions.  Today is also Pi Day as well as my area code back in St. Louis.  I think the quote is funny.  I think I'll just pass on the meal, drink and wine today.  Nice day to celebrate the cotton gin mill, the Currency Act, and it was about time that women were allowed to join Muirfield! Thanks to Debbie @dfish,  Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for the reports today!  I hope your DSis is doing okay now Ann.

Prayers said for all on the Care list, my DB, great nephew Alex's twins, Scott and Susan, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the hostages still held and our troops in harms way there.  Hoping for good news on all fronts in the days ahead!🙏

Congratulations to all who celebrate happy events today and the cruisers!  🥂🎉 Happy Birthday wishes to Brenda @bennybear and @Mr. Boston's DM, as well as my little brother. 🎂 Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for remembering him and for keeping the Care and Celebration lists for us all!  You are a star reporter!

The port today is Lerwick, Shetland Island, UK.  This was the port before on Sept. 20, 2021, Nov. 1, 2022, and June 15, 2023.  We have gone there twice and enjoyed our looks around the area.  Here are the links to those dates for you.

Hoping you all have an enjoyable Thursday.  Keep safe and stay well!

We have enjoyed cruises stopping at Lerwick twice.  First time was on a Southampton to NY transatlantic on Caribbean Princess in 2015.  Second time was in 2022 on Island Princess.

We arrived in Lerwick on Sept. 8, 2015 on Caribbean Princess and tendered over to Victoria Pier00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVLBjJdJFY7CsZv90mIJZcjo?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033256

The first thing that caught our eye was a zebra-striped accommodation barge used to house workers building the Shetland Gas Plant.  It's no longer there since the project was completed several years back.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJqC_J6f9kOCHDEwPC8dEgX?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033261

We had scheduled a tour of the Jarlshof Ruins and the Hoswick Visitor Center.  Excuse the photos taken from the bus window of the countryside.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKF676KMg-LP3AOCZUtGnwu?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033279

Our driver told us Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick own property here.  I have no way of verifying that information, but it would be a perfect place to get away from it all.

The Hoswick Visitor Center had a lot of very old radios and other communication equipment, along with textiles and other odds and ends.  Seemed an odd collection to me.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJQlkYv3znEg4X0dTknSBmS?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033317

Most of us thought the scenery outside more interesting so went out to take some photos before time to move on to the Jarlshof Ruins.  Scenery like this00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKX198M0x_4gY0o4vUfe6Dm?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033330

Back in the bus for the drive to the Ruins we saw lovely beaches which were dotted with seals, surprisingly.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKOUk_NQ2L99IDYl3qAnC9G?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033375

Leaving the site, we stopped to enjoy a few of the Shetland ponies next to the walkway.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJlL-nsGcu5VXXX6OzX2qGF?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1443033548

We were back in Lerwick on June 9, 2022 on Island Princess.  We walked around the town a bit then got instructions on how to get to Tesco to do a little shopping.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIDyCEFzH4ovRqXlXzH6dcqVZV51t4MhjbEwRNyGscOgg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971604

This stellar libation takes inspiration from the iconic song and promises a taste adventure that is both out-of-this-world and exhilarating. Featuring a medley of bold flavors, the Rocket Man cocktail combines the smoothness of bourbon with the zesty tang of fresh lime and the tantalizing kick of ginger beer. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to embark on a flavor journey, the Rocket Man cocktail will surely launch your taste buds to new heights.

1/2 oz. lime juice
2 oz. Ginger Beer
1/2 oz. simple syrup
2 oz. bourbon

In a cocktail shaker with ice cubes add the bourbon, freshly squeezed lime juice and simple syrup.
Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to combine all the ingredients and chill the cocktail.
Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass filled with ice.
Top off the cocktail with ginger beer and garnish the cocktail with a lime wheel or a piece of candied ginger (optional)

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Jacqui!  Roy, thank you for our maps.

It is a lovely 58 this morning. Bindi walked & fed. Cats fed, stuff for my Sister collected and off to wait for the school bus. Then I will head home and start my day. Lots of stuff around the house has been neglected and I plan to do my taxes today.

Prayers for all who need our support. Bless all the caregivers. @smitty34877 Terry - always thinking of you & Tana.

Cheers to all who are celebrating!

May we each find a reason to smile today.

I need to taste this Zinfandel- the description makes me believe I will love it.

Absolutely delicious, fruity and mouthcoating, this full-bodied and gentle-textured wine is easy to drink and enjoy on its own or with cheesy, meaty proteins. Pure raspberries, blackberries and plum jam flavors flow on a broad texture backed by light tannins.

We were back in Lerwick on June 9, 2022 on Island Princess.  We walked around the town a bit then got instructions on how to get to Tesco to do a little shopping.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIDyCEFzH4ovRqXlXzH6dcqVZV51t4MhjbEwRNyGscOgg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971604

I was surprised to see this hospital with the funeral director in the same building!  😳

We had quite a little walk to get to the Tesco but on a cruise you can always use the exercise.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKRJ8oyR8IeDvv0eL23pdZTVZV51t4MhjbEwRNyGscOgg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971631

After we picked up some goodies for our waiters and bar staff favorites, we stopped to see the Lerwick Town Hall.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVL-THelOplKfcu1UQk9hnPH5cYdfB3jRoL_VZILaXEufg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971633

Then passed by this monument.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIOuIzM0NUz-YlsUrLqdL4-qCe7ffHDJpwno-pEcjtJnw?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971646

And then we found the very conveniently located Fort Charlotte00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJX3MLx2lMEKRcAnDoxBUOzVZV51t4MhjbEwRNyGscOgg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971661

Island Princess is in the back of this photo.   DH always has his photo taken with a cannon.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJqRNbXjr3fFZ8l5xKXyQoZqCe7ffHDJpwno-pEcjtJnw?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656961215

Back to the dock area to get on a tender.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJzIKi_F_4kDPB5X3uOz1WIUnDnu4gHHWpfyYq5WwzmNg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1656971663

Happy Thursday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Expecting mostly sunny and 76 today. We go right from winter to summer. I will have all of the windows open today.

Good news! Fiona is eating once again. She cleaned several plates of wet food since last night and this morning. She is much more active and obviously feeling better. Today Chase goes to the vet to have his toe amputated and the mass on the toe will be biopsied. He was not a happy camper since he could not eat breakfast this morning. Such worries about my fur babies.

@bennybear, @StLouisCruisers DB, and @Mr. Boston DM, happy birthday.

Wishing You A Very Happy Birthday Pictures, Photos, and Images for ...

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning. It will be 70 later today with clouds coming back. I will celebrate scientists, questions and those very smart people. I would love to see Lerwick in person, thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers for the pictures.

The recipe sounds interesting.
Happy Birthday to Brenda @bennybear!

Also to @Mr Boston for DM and @StLouisCruisers for DB

Filming continued last night until about 11. The highlight was a verbal fight between the lead actor Amanda Sayfried and her less than ideal ex husband. Our dogs joined in as take after shouted take was done. The other dogs on the street added their two cents. I felt like a peeping Tom watching thru the front window but I couldn’t resist…

Enjoy the day today.
