Diamond plus free laundry

Is the free laundry perk only 1 per cabin, or since my wife and I are both diamond plus, we'd get 2 free bags on a 7 night cruise?

2 free bags.

One for each of you.  Just keep in mind everything is washed in hot water.  We only send socks, workout clothing and underwear out.

Having just turned D+, we're still planning for our new perks and that's pretty much what we landed on (if we even use it). We don't sail longer than 7N and we've somehow managed without it thus far. Take away all the actual clothing (shirts, shorts, etc.) and it leaves a short list for us. Maybe my wife will send out her workout clothes. In my case, sending out 5 days worth of underwear and some socks doesn't seem worth bothering.

I've seen frequent cruisers share horror stories while others have never had an issue. If we sailed longer than 7N I'd likely be more interested.

We've used it a few times so far and it's just nice going home with less work to do to get back to the grind. I'm guilty of dumping all our laundry in one load at home, so outside of dress clothes, it all goes and so far, it's been fine. Lol.

I am not disputing those who have had bad outcomes with their W&F service, but my experience is that we have never had a single item shrunk, faded or otherwise damaged and we use the W&F service a LOT.  I did lose a pair of yoga pants once but Dan gained a pair of athletic shorts so I guess it was a fair trade !  Interestingly enough, this was on a Star Class cruise so it wasn't even the normal W&F service.  I send EVERYthing out to the laundry and have never had a single problem (knocking on wood as I'm typing).  IMO the W&F service is one of the BEST D+ perks.  It's much nicer going home with clean clothes than going home with everything dirty !

No dress clothes for us and I probably do 2 loads when we get home but I get it. Like I said, I've seen others post that they've had no issues like you. We all do whatever works for us.

I figure I have to at least do some laundry when we get home so a little more doesn't bother me a ton. It also helps that I work from home and am flexible and during the summer (most of our cruises) my teacher wife is on break so we don't always have to jump right back into the grind which is nice.

Switching topics... I've sailed Wonder twice, including last month, and will be back on her in June and July but still love reading others' thoughts and opinions. Any plans to post some sort of trip report?

LOL, depends on the brand (amongst other things). Good attitude though.

BTW, I'm ashamed to say that I forgot who this was for a minute. I've been posting far more on the other site in recent months (as you know). You had to use to wildly different screen names, didn't you? 🤣

We use it for pj's, t-shirts, underwear and socks.  Usually one bag per cruise even though we could use 2 if we wanted to.

I don’t have any horror stories with the laundry service.  I appreciate it and have used it many times.  I do have a horror story with Celebrity though.  All of our laundry was mixed with a few others and brought into our room, dumped on our bed and we had to sort through and take out our things.  It really was weird.  I almost missed a pair of my underwear, but my DH recognized it!

LOL.  Yes.  I've been a member here at CC far longer than over on the Blog.  I joined this site before I realized it was a very bad idea to use your real name....😵‍💫

My only nit pick about the laundry is the stale smell clothing has. It's not a bad smell, just a stale smell. I assume due to the desalinized water they use.

Hmm...I will have to remember to check this out.  I haven't noticed before.

We’ve never had a problem and we have used it many times, most recently twice on a 28 night cruise.  My husband will send boxers, socks, t shirts and shorts while I stick with work out clothes and undies.  They have always come back the same size😂 and in great shape.  In fact, they are folded much better than anything I do!

Be aware that your clothes are washed with other people's clothes (each in their own mesh bag).  That doesn't bother me, but it does bother some people.  Just letting you know.

Keep in mind that it is a "Wash and Fold" service, not proper laundry service with pressing.  Everything is washed in HOT water and dried on HOT heat.  Some like to write "cold water" on the bag, but that doesn't work.

It is intended for select type of items listed on the wash and fold sheet.   ( PJ.s socks. shorts, swim trunks, underwear - obviously not fine lingerie).  Some play dumb and use the regular laundry form hanging in the closet  and put other items in with success, some get charged ( and complain) and some have items ruined because of the washing method and also complain.

Clothes come back  in 24-48 hours so keep that in mind if you use the service at the end of the cruise.

I've heard that some don't like that but what about towels, sheets and cloth napkins?

I would guess that towels and sheets could be washed together, with cloth napkins washed separately, but I really don't know.

You know, I considered doing a live report but then forgot about it. It's definitely been great so far. Oasis class has been my favorite and this being the most modern takes the cake. My only complaint is the solarium.

This is a Casino cruise, and I've had very good luck in the casino this week which makes it even better. We're on Icon next month through the casino so I may do a live report from that one. I'm so excited to try it out.

Here's a picture of my current situation ☺️20240404_111738.thumb.jpg.58665cded823998c402bad2615fd0b2d.jpg20240404_113831.thumb.jpg.4114b441dc37b31eb0d53f1dea687611.jpg

I agree. They just don’t smell clean! I’ll have to pop a few of my sweet smelling laundry tabs into the bag too as a hint!

It wasn't about how they wash linens but that one passenger's dirty towel is washed with another passenger's dirty towel.  So, what is the difference with personal laundry.

Luckily I haven't experienced that.  I hope I don't.

The old laundry perk...it is not as rosy as some here want you to believe. First off, if you use the wrong bag, you will be charged on your sign and sail account. There is a special bag for the "free" laundry and it is small. Good luck stuffing as much as you can into it without tearing. Secondly, when and if all your clothes come back, each item will have an obnoxious sticker placed near the label. It is not hard to peel off but when you get home, often you will forget about it. However, you will be reminded the next time you wear the item. It is not a good look for you to be digging into your underwear to ease the chaffing while you are perusing the local Walmart. Lastly, the items come back folded into a Rubics cube shape. Good luck ironing that out.  Me personally, I gave up on that perk a long time ago.... not worth the hassle.

I agree, it's pretty much the same.  As I said, it doesn't bother me.

Well it is always washed with other passengers but that is a Wow! Have had at least dozen items come back faded a couple shades, 3-4 with pin holes. But not to be used for nice clothing so is what it is
