So_Tweetie Posted May 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2018 I just got a drop and go offer and am looking at a total cost of $597.60 for a 7 day Alaskan cruise! That includes first class airfare to Alaska (thank you Alaska Airlines miles) and a Princess transfer from Vancouver to Seattle after disembarkation. The cruise fare was $298 for a single occupant room! I have a guaranteed interior cabin and will keep you all posted once I'm assigned to a room. Wow! Up until an hour ago I thought I had five months before my next cruise. :') Now, wrapping my head around the fact that I have two weeks to plan and pack! Yay!!! So_Tweetie Posted May 18, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Thank you FLCruise7 and Riclop! Buckeye10640, they don't sell solo cabins and normally it's twice the price when you try and book a room for 1. Somehow I still got the amazing price though! Sudoku Posted May 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 18, 2018 When I look under My Cruise Personalizer and pull down the Drop and Go rates, there are specials for May 26 and May 30. For example on May 30 a balcony is $299 per person. With taxes and port fees it’s around $1000.00. Good deals if you search other dates for isides and ocean views. paradiselivin1 Posted May 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 18, 2018 That's a great deal! DH and I have both signed up for last minute deals and never get e-mails from Princess. I've called to complain and they supposedly "fixed" it. Guess with five cruises pending they must think they no longer need to entice us to cruise?
Rare erber Posted May 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 18, 2018 We are going on Alaska cruise in two weeks (Southbound Voyage of the Glaciers). We booked it in mid-April after final payment and paid $399/pp for ocean view obstructed room guarantee. No assignment of room yet. We thought that was a great deal. Your deal is exceptional. Enjoy your trip. Alaska is so beautiful.

logan25 Posted May 18, 2018 #15 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Appreciate the information. I wonder if the "cheap" rates have been exhausted because the least expensive option for me as a solo was $698 (inside or oceanview).

Suzanne123 Posted May 18, 2018 #17 Share Posted May 18, 2018 I was watching the rates for Coral Princess for the last week on Princess and a few other TAs, and finally booked on line with Princess Wednesday. I never saw the solo rates that you are seeing. I called yesterday, and upgraded to an ocean view, but still paid the single supplement. :( This happened several years ago when I was booking a cruise for my parents. If I logged in with their names, the price was considerably lower. I thought it might have to do with a senior price or something. But, wow, you got a great price. Congrats! So_Tweetie Posted May 18, 2018 Author #20 Share Posted May 18, 2018 I am not sure if people normally reply to each post separately but to avoid cluttering up the thread I’ll do several at once here. Offering a solo cabin without paying the single supplement is sometimes done as a last minute bargain. Very good to know' date=' thank you! I have never seen it before[/font'] Curious...Was this offer from Princess or from a travel agent?Tom🤔 This was from a Drop & Go e-mail that linked me back to the Last Minute Cruise Deals part of Princess’s site. So public rates I believe. When I look under My Cruise Personalizer and pull down the Drop and Go rates, there are specials for May 26 and May 30. For example on May 30 a balcony is $299 per person. With taxes and port fees it’s around $1000.00. Good deals if you search other dates for isides and ocean views. I got so excited about the deal I saw and thought it was going to vanish so I booked before looking at other dates. I do see some starting at $149 though (double occupancy) but leaving in just a few days. Wow a great deal Agreed! I woke up this morning wondering if it was all a dream, lol! That's a great deal! DH and I have both signed up for last minute deals and never get e-mails from Princess. I've called to complain and they supposedly "fixed" it. Guess with five cruises pending they must think they no longer need to entice us to cruise? I am sure they would love to have you keep cruising and the e-mails will hopefully get straightened out. Luckily these deals are posted on the site, but it is nice having the e-mail alert when prices get crazy low. We are going on Alaska cruise in two weeks (Southbound Voyage of the Glaciers). We booked it in mid-April after final payment and paid $399/pp for ocean view obstructed room guarantee. No assignment of room yet. We thought that was a great deal. Your deal is exceptional. Enjoy your trip. Alaska is so beautiful. Are you sailing on the Coral? That sounds like my date and route! Having an oceanview will be nice, getting daylight is always good. I’d be happy to sleep in a closet at this price! Alaska is gorgeous, I’m very much looking forward to seeing the glaciers as they weren’t on the inside passage route I took in 2016 (Ruby). What a steal! I mean, DEAL! I'm hoping one day I can do something like this, maybe when I'm finally retired. Enjoy your cruise!!! Thank you! I am lucky to have the time off so I can take advantage. After this one I don’t see a drop & go working in to my schedule for several years. Maybe until retirement, like you said. Lol Appreciate the information. I wonder if the "cheap" rates have been exhausted because the least expensive option for me as a solo was $698 (inside or oceanview). That could be but when I went to select a room category it told me the lowest price for an interior room was $794. The next step told me the prices for choosing my own room vs a guaranteed cabin and that’s when it said $298 was the best rate. I’ll try to post a screen shot here, but just FYI because I’ve always given up at the stateroom category step, but digging deeper paid off! (omg the screenshot is an absolute JOKE if it's as small as it looks on my computer, but that's the biggest file CC will let me upload! :')) Great deal! Thanks for posting. Enjoy your cruise! Thank you! I was watching the rates for Coral Princess for the last week on Princess and a few other TAs, and finally booked on line with Princess Wednesday. Very interesting! When are you sailing? I’ll be on the Coral May 30th, I better go join the Roll Call! Terrific deal! You can't afford to stay home. I would have no trouble packing for this. I couldn’t pass the deal up, $600 total for a week of vacation to Alaska, which is notoriously expensive? No brainer! ;p
Rare erber Posted May 18, 2018 #21 Share Posted May 18, 2018 So_ Tweetie, We are sailing on the Star on June 2nd from Whittier to Vancouver. I cannot believe we leave in two weeks to fly to Anchorage! We have sailed on the Coral and loved the ship's beautiful outside viewing areas! Have a great time! Enjoy your trip. Alaska is so beautiful. We're $349pp obstructed OV in 8 days on the Golden. Booked in late March. Deal was so good that we went from 'not considering a cruise at all' to 'fully booked' in less than 24 hours. The only thing we had to check was airfare. It was reasonable enough to justify. Got our cabin assigned about a week ago.

Inside $149, balcony $299 It may be a casino offer. I was not notified of such, but did gat a Caribbean offer recently at similar prices. We live in Florida so took that one. Airfares are just too high to go to Alaska for that one.
