Project Breakaway Names/Finalist

Project Breakaway ship named Norwegian Breakaway? Wow, that just goes right off the creativity meter there, doesn't it.

 

Completely rigged. I want my contest entry fee back.

 

 

That doesn't even sound pleasant to be on a ship named the Breakaway.

It's like part of it might break. Or the Getaway. Like its a vehicle used in a bank robbery, not good names for a cruise ship.

Doesn't give that very nice, pleasant feel of past names of ships...Pearl, Gem, Sun, Dream, Oasis, Allure, Magic, Dawn, Glory, Pride, etc.

I submitted Escape and Breakaway. Wanted to try more but... sheeze the site was crashing all the time.

Submitted Escape as well, but at least a week after contest was announced. Assume it was a pretty popular submission.

 

Breakaway is a cop-out and is weird to name a ship. I wouldn't want to think anything on the ship was made to "breakaway".

Escape just seems to plain and obvious.....as does Journey...I wish they'd of picked mine(Norwegian Spree), since whenever I cruise, it's just one big spending Spree:)

I dont like those names...They dont fit in well with the other NCL fleet. If i had to pick one, my vote will go to Journey

Out of those I like Escape and Journey. It must be the "Car" Class. I wish they went with the "Floral" Class.... Rose, Lily, Freesia, etc.

I think these contests are just a way to get people talking and excited about the new ships. The names were already probably decided, months before the contest even was announced.

Uh, like what? Give us some examples of more WOW factor names. Most are taken by other cruise ships already or have some negative connotations to them.

OH NO! I thought I would win. I had Aspire (maybe sounded too much like "expire") and Rainbow, would have made a nice design on the front of the ship. Oh Well!

Just do not like Breakaway or Bliss. Breakaway reminds me of an iceberg for some reason. Just sounds wrong. Why would you name a ship after a Bar???? Doesnt make sense. Why not name it White Hot or Le Bistro. Same thing. Just doesnt sound right. To me anyway.

I entered a number of names including Bliss but probably way too late. I also went the Nordic route (Loki), hoping they would actually want to go back to the "norwegian " in the name...

If someone put a gun to my head, I would chose Journey and Escape, but I found all of them all pretty lame. I thought they would go with something more funky. These are kind of boring and they seem to be the popular names. There wasn't much thought going into this if so many people picked the same ones. I thought they were looking to breakaway from the norm. Bliss reminds me of blister and I can't get that out of my mind.:eek:

I'm disappointed in all the finalists. Nothing really strikes a chord but let's see how it works out with the interiors of the ships. At least they are non-repetitive reused names that seem to be the norm for various cruise lines recently. Magic, Dream, etc.
