Sorry, but I'm not so sure about that. Celebrity must get the ship moving, and time is of the essence. I strongly believe that Celebrity would spend what it takes to facilitate the repair as quickly as possible.

Hey, Andy, I was responding to Fouremco's comment that the just received gas turbine was a spare part for storage in case it was needed in a future situation and not an essential part needed to get the ship moving.

For those passengers on Constellation:

Please take note of warning flags when swimming on Cabbage beach on Paradise Island in Nassau. There are dangerous rip currents.

There was a fatality, when we were there in November on Infinity.

Oh ok - I somehow read it differently. Thanks for clarifying Rob !

A white van just pulled up. A lot of activity about a dozen workers gathered around the van. Taking machine parts from the van. Running Quickly up the gang way each holding a part. this is going to get interesting. Just got off elevator. A lady was telling everybody to come to customer Service at 7:30 for a protest rally. yikes,

Same temperature in Ottawa. With Parliament in recess, there's no hot air being generated here! :)

It was 63 and sunny here today...but I'd still rather be on a ship. Count me in!;)

A protest rally? Really?! Ok, this just got stupid. Then again, I'm not surprised some people would be too self absorbed to understand what's happening.

But oh well. If it happens, I will be glad to come aboard and escort some folks off and if need be, let them stay in the Monroe County hotel for the night (hint...it's not really a hotel).

I just got off a ship in Florida this morning, and returned home to central NY (just south of Ottawa) and 15 degrees (F) and snow this afternoon. Next month I'm sailing on Connie, and as I'm reading this thread, I realize I'm kind of hoping I can get stuck in Key West, too :D

Tell me about it A Sixth. ! I'm in FL, so I cant complain about the weather.. but here's a snapshot of my day today : dozens of phone calls, several meetings & conference calls (the first one began at 7 am), and I just arrived home from a Board Meeting. Still haven't had dinner yet.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I'd rather skip all of that, and be on Connie and in Key West right now :)

No offense, but I bet it will be some "elite" cruiser that heads up the protest. Something about status and entitlement that goes to the head.

I traveled for business for 25 years .. over 2.5 million air miles .. and the stewardesses always said the "elite" fliers were the worse.

AND I AM JOINING YOU -- NOAA updated their current weather conditions phone recording about forty-five minutes ago and the temperature in Fairbanks, Alaska was -33 F !! Fortunately no wind chill.

Right now I could see myself sitting on the Connie with some fruity little drink in hand enjoying the warmth of Key West. There would be no complaints from me!
