NEW Suite Upgrades....

Recommended Posts

It was the 2/15th sailing, President's Week. It was the first time I had seen/noticed it. I am assuming that is why he was sitting up there in the area just to the left of the Concierges. Also I do not know why Tapa changed my post that you quoted as being from redcrown01.

Good to know. I had no clue about this. I'll be looking for him/her on Oasis in May and on other cruises. Thanks a bunch.

As you said I had never noticed it before. The only reason I did notice was I was headed down to the LA desk to ask him a question about C/A on my May Oasis sailing. I had heard conflicting (what else is new) info.

Our first cruise will be on the Liberty of the Seas this October, and we've booked a Junior Suite. Now, I full understand that those of us in the "cheap suites" don't get many of the perks and bennies as the real suites.

With that being said, this will give us our first impression, and help us decide either way if we want to pay more for a gold seapass, or conclude it's not really worth it and stick to a standard balcony stateroom for future cruises.

You might want to also join a "cabin crawl." You can usually find more information in the Meet and Mingle Roll Calls section of this website. That's if your cruise offers a Meet and Mingle get together and a fellow cruiser has organized a cabin crawl. If they do, then do it! There's nothing better than seeing firsthand the different layouts of each stateroom and how much floor space, drawer space, bathroom space, etc each offers.

Nothing new here... Please take a look at Celebrity's new suite perks. Depending on the suite, they offer free unlimited internet, free premium beverage packages, exclusive dining room, Concierge Club, butler, and many more; no comparison

I think you'll love the JS. It's a much larger cabin and balcony. We do a lot of JS's when they aren't much more than a balcony. You also don't pay Suite tips in a JS. But the priority lines are nice at times. We have done 2 GS's and a Crown Loft. Fantastic. But usually out of my price range. The one's we did were such a good deal we couldn't pass them up. Totally spoiled with that Gold Card.

But the JS is, in our opinion, usually worth the extra money for the room. It's nice to sit in the sitting area relaxing while my wife gets ready. It's nice having the larger balcony. The bathrooms are great also. Hopefully they'll add a few perks to the JS.

We had an AquaSuite on Celebrity and it had Butler service. Every day the Butler would come by with Canapes and Ice Tea. They had one show that your Butler met you at the door of the theater and escorted you to a seat in the Suite area. Really nice touches.

New suite perks would be a great addition! Free laundry and internet minutes would be most welcome! :D When cruising in suites between RCL and Princess, those are what I miss the most..

Free laundry would be a great perk.

I don't suppose the new & improved perks will be in effect for my cruise in April. That will be my first time ever in a suite (and maybe my last :( )

I had the Royal Suite this past November on Explorer of the Seas. This was our first suite on RCCL and it will be our last. We had better service in a sky suite on celebrity. There is only one concierge for all the suites , diamond plus and pinnacle members. I think they should have a designated concierge for the suites only. We are not very needy people at all . I had a hard time communicating with the concierge because he was too busy with the pinnacle members. I have nothing against them I believe they earned their status and the perks they receive. I just believe when you spend that kind of money for a suite you should at least have first rate service.

We had numerous issues with the cabin and it took days before anyone could figure out what the problem was. When we left the issues were not fixed. I felt sorry for the next people who had the a Royal Suite.

My money for a suite will be spent on celebrity !

I believe they are beginning to address this by creating a dedicated suite lounge as part of the refurb's on the Oasis class ships (I think Oasis has this already), not sure if it already exists on Quantum (or Anthem).

We had the Royal suite on the Rhapsody and had nothing but problems. We were told we would be met on the pier and that didn't happen. Then when we got to the suite the Spa in the bathroom didn't work or the Piano. It took 4 days to fix the spa and 3 days for the Piano. All we got was I am sorry it took so long.We will still cruise with RCI but in a grand or owners suites .But not the Royal suite as we didn't find it was worth the extra money.

Wow. I can't believe that you had same issues in a Royal Suite. We had dirty brown water everyday in our tub and balcony jacuzzi . The water was so dirty it stained the tub. There was also debris floating in the water. We then collected water from shower and it was just as dirty. They never fixed the problem. I was afraid to brush my teeth so I used bottle water everyday.

I even took the water home with us in case we got sick

We also had a piano that did not work. We had sewer smell coming from the toilet. It was a disaster. We spent a lot of money for this suite and I expected it to be top notch.

I agree I will never book the Royal Suite or any suite until they get their act together

Not good. They need to look at their Royal suites and make sure everything is clean and works before they put new passengers in each cruise. We cruised with family and my sister was in an owners suite and got better service than we did. And we paid twice the cost of her suite. It also didn't help matters that my husband had booked the suite as a surprise for our wedding anniversary.Never again

This was also a special treat for our 40 th wedding anniversary. It was such a big disappointment. As I said before we did a sky suite on celebrity and the servic and room were unbelievable. You even have a butler in a sky suite. Not that I need a butler but I do believe the most expensive suite on any ship should have personalized service. We were told there were too many pinnacle members to give us the attention that the royal suite usually gets .that is no excuse for poor service. They should get extra help to avoid these issues.
