Ferrari stepped in late and decided to attach their name to the go kart track

 

That's Scuderia Ferrari Watches. Plastic, tacky, silicone strap, Japanese quartz movement with a Ferrari emblem at a boutique price. Another crappy sales opportunity for NCL, as if they didn't have enough.

I don't dare imagine what NCL would charge for "Ferrari bottled water".

What do you all think about the pool deck setup? I think I might like it very much as a secondary deck with a traditional lido deck.

It's definitely not designed for Westerners who like pools and to sunbathe. This class of ship already suffers from too few pools and not enough deck space, so it's perfect for Asia where those things don't matter much. The entire ship has very little appeal to me. Ready for the next design and hope it's a lot better.

This has to be the dead horse of amateur marine architects.

No way to win. You simply can't add pools AND deck space.

Not to mention the issues cause by the free surface effect of water in larger pools. ;)

Plenty of other ship designs manage just fine. The new MSC SEASIDE is a perfect example. Great deck space and plenty of pools.

Woo: main pool description, a maximum limit of 35 bathers ... as translated into simplified Chinese, LOL. That alone, if this ship sailed in the U.S. market (or elsewhere) would be grounds for triggering a riot, for a mega ship with something like 4,000 pax - granted, those in Haven won't be mingling with the herds below.

 

Also, the heated (I assume) outdoor pool(s) without a sliding roof - might not be all that practical when it's sailing the northern routes during the colder months. One trust NCL did their market research & know what they are doing.
