I majored in Psychology.A few months before graduation I went to the placement office at my college.The person I spoke to said that there was an opportunity for a job in the Industrial Psychology Department with a company that I might want to apply for..I decided to try and spent a year with the company.My next job was the one I spent 25 years at and the way I got it  is unbelievable ,another story for another time.

I continued my education as an evening student.

Has anyone ever try making Refrigerator Dill Pickles?  I made some and they are strong.  I did 1 part water 1 part white vinegar.   I think the next time I need to try 2 parts water 1 part white vinegar or maybe switch to apple vinegar.

I'm so excited, I just got clearance to take my folks from work on a lunch cruise! It's a joint event that I'm doing with my Aunt, who's taking her folks from a different group. I also found out this weekend that my Ukulele Group has been invited to perform at a major holiday event for the entire city!

 

And I'm in 3 Lip Sync Battles with our sister communities. We got to pick the songs for each one and I'm doing 2 songs I've been DYING to do since I first heard them, and I get to spoof one of my favorite Halloween movies of all time in one of the Battles!

I'm a big dill pickle fan too.  This is my 1st attempt at making my own. I hope after a few tries I can get it right.   I just planted more cucumbers last week so I need to figure it out soon.

No but in 1968 there was a movie called The Night They Raided Minsky’s .I was hired as an extra in that movie.I never made it to the screen but I was paid and I got to meet many of the actors. I was supposed to be a pickles seller and spent quite a few hours inhaling the delightful pickles.

I was an extra in two movies,never made it to the screen but I was paid the going rate for extras.

However,the brother of one of my co-workers was an extra in the first Godfather movie.He did make it to the screen.He was on screen for several minutes in the scene where there was an attempt on the life of Don Corleone in the hospital.

It was the only movie he was ever an extra in but it was the highlight of his life.

For several years we used to do the canning process to make our pickles.  We would make a couple different kinds including hot n spicy.   It is a process to do canning but they are soo good even a year or so later.

I have never tried refrigerator pickles.  If you get a good recipe, please let me know.   😀

We did dinner in Mdr tonight and the beef tenderloin was delicious.  Then went to casino to play slots before heading to Blaze for the comedy show. 

We both won a couple hundred in casino so that was nice.   

While going into Blaze someone bumped into Eric and spilled his belvedere & cranberry down his shirt and pants.   He didn't want to sit there wet so we want back to cabin to change, I rinsed out his clothes.   Then went to the PUb and listened to their guitarist for a bit. He is decent.  Sorry I didn't catch his name, will get tomorrow. 

Looks like the Aqua show is cancelled due to wind.

Hoping  we have a nice sunny day tomorrow in PC.

So every year I participate in Camp Envy. For those who do not know, I am a huge fan of Burning Man. What is it? Burning Man is guided by the values expressed by the 10 Principles, Burning Man is a global ecosystem of artists, makers, and community organizers who co-create art, events, and local initiatives around the world. Most recognizably, tens of thousands of Burners gather annually to build Black Rock City, a participative temporary metropolis in the Nevada desert.

 

 

The name of the event comes from its culminating ceremony: the symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy, referred to as the Man, that occurs on the penultimate night of Burning Man, which is the Saturday evening before Labor Day.

 

 

This year there are over 80,000 that have come. I've never been able to go. It's on my bucket list.

 

 

So I may be in out and out because I watch a live video feed of the event and listen to the hosts who talk about things going on. It's quite fun.

Beautiful day in Sydney today.  Spending my lunch break at the chemist for family member who urgently needs script filled..will only see a few of your posts.

Straight after work, DH are going out for taco Tuesday and then the movies to see Jodie Comer in Prima Facie (apologies for sp). Filmed at her West End Theatre in London. Looking forward to it.

That's  a bummer what happened to Eric.   I wouldn't want to sit there wet either.

I hate it when the Aqua show gets canceled. You might get another chance to see it later.  Last time on Harmony it got canceled a couple times.  We got to see a partial one night before they had to end it.

I don't make pie crust but have a hint from a fabulous crust maker...

Don't roll the crust out on a floured surface. It will add more flour to the crust and make it tough.

Instead, roll it out on plastic wrap and then you won't be adding additional flour. It will also add support and be easier to fold in half and place it in the pie pan.

I got the hint on the promise I wouldn't share. Oops.

I should have known better than to read this thread today.

 

Tomorrow I'm having my routine, every 5 year colonoscopy screening which means I've been on a Low Residue diet for three days with today being a no food, clear liquids only and no alcohol day. So I come to this thread to see all the food porn, new recipes and drink ideas.  Why am I torturing myself?

 

On a positive now, I probably dropped 5 pounds.  Belt is definitely 1 notch tighter. Now to keep it off!

We never got around to watching it since we were behind on recorded shows. After what I read on here it wasn’t something we were very interested in watching. Mike deleted it a couple of days ago.
