premixed cocktails -> sounds not so premium

Thought the same... I really like a good cocktail, especially Martinis. But I remember on the Pride of America they had those kind of premixed cocktails at the Ocean Drive Bar (pool bar).

Hopefully that's the final decision on Indulge. 🤞

Reports from earlier this year were all some version of this:image.png.72e331d142eb7fd45a06de8f4cf54297.png

Just got off of the Breakaway and the presentation on the Leo class still confirms this information as correct/current.  (Hope it stays that way because I just booked a Viva sailing for 2024 😂)

upcharge sounds more NCL like then included.

The impression I’m getting is that they are trying to position themselves as a premium family line.  Passenger to crew ratios of something you’d find on celebrity (and presumably a level of service increase across the board) along with some of the fun extras for the kiddos/Thrillseekers.

The ships are also structured more like celebrity’s ships. Literally 1 deck w/ ocean view available (deck 5) and relatively few inside cabins (most everything is balcony+)

That said, if NCL wants to go this route they need to provide the value that premium lines offer for their higher price (looking at you included unlimited WiFi package).  The pricing is also communicating this (across the board it’s more comparable to a booking on celebrity beyond than RC’s wonder of the seas ( both new ships).

Wow small world.  That wasn't you on the bridge with me just prior to the Captain's announcement?  There was one guy that kept asking the bridge crew what time we were getting into Miami.  They would not answer deferring the info to captain who was absent.  I said there is no garmin on the windshield to tell them 🙂  I departed for my cabin which was Starboard a bit aft of center and before I got back to the cabin the captain was telling us we had a problem.  Loved the long line in guest services after he said don't go there.  I got the letter a few minutes after the announcement and immediately called to take advantage of a hotel room for one night.  It was a beautiful room in the Marriott waterside 21st floor Suite with 2 balconies, one of bedroom and one off living area.  It was a great memory for me too.  I was able to have lunch with an Aunt and Uncle Sunday afternoon who live in the Tampa area.

LOL

No it was not me.  I know that some people wanted to disembark in Miami. I couldn't care less.  Been to Miami several times and was not even planning to disembark the ship that day. My flight home was the following day and I already booked the train between Tampa and Miami (never again). I do remember the Marriott and I had a nice room with a view.  Another crazy thing on this sailing was the arrival in the bay of Tampa.  The upperdeck was full and people were afraid that the ship mast would hit the bridge.  As if the crew had not clear that ahead of time.  The final annoying event on that cruise:  As you know, when a ship is in Florida waters, despite you have the drink package, they charge the Florida State tax on drinks. There was the huge line up at the guest  services  desk to question those charges and request a refund.  For most of the people, the charge was under $10.00.  I have better things to do on a cruise than worring about a $10.00 charge.  It was my first cruise on the Star and I enjoyed it.

That is funny about the bridge clearance.  Dawn and Pearl or Jade are regularly cruising out of Tampa, Pearl is a bit higher and Dawn the same height.  I can't believe people standing in line for $10 SMH.  I had a problem because the casino closed early.  We actually won at Bingo that cruise and I was going to cash in the winnings last day, and poof casino was closed as we rounded the tip of Florida.  Had a time getting the funds from Guest Services.  I waited until some wee hour when there was no line 🙂

Those cruises occured at the time where the "Free at sea" was not always offered.  You had to visit the NCL Website quite often to see what were the promotions and book when the right promotion was offered. So many people booked without the beverage package and did not buy it.  You probably saw people screaming the last night of the cruise when they got their ship invoice.  The couple that was next door to me were fuming.  They were speaking very loud on the balcony. Their bar tab was for $2,800.  Obviously, they were not experienced cruisers or they thought that the drink package was too expensive for the amount of drinks they thought they would drink.  Especially on a TA, with many sea days, the number of drinks adds up fast.

  It’s looks nice to me I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

First, I had the same reaction.  But wait to see it with all the table cloths and the dimmed lights.  Pictures were taken with full light. I think it will be just perfect

YIKES!  The theater can only hold 752 people?!  They better offer the shows on more than 2 nights, that's smaller than the Breakaway+ ships, though I do recognize that Prima has a slightly lower capacity than those ships.

Something else I haven't noticed mentioned or seen in pictures - is there a walled-off smoking area in the casino as there is on the Bliss, Joy and Encore?

Maybe the Casino will be no smoking?  That was one of the comments on the article from a cruise critic reviewer.  The Casino is right off the atrium and will need to be route to get from Atrium to forward areas.  They figured if smoking is allowed, the smoke in the atrium will be a problem.

Yes, I have seen a photo of the enclosed smoking area of the Casino. Similar to Bliss, Joy and Encore.

reminded me of our Jade TA from Barcelona to Tampa via Miami in Oct 2016. When ship stopped in Miami we all had to disembark to go thru the US Immigration. Some zoo it was!!

I had been doing well in casino and had several black chips … last night of cruise we went out to dinner at 7 and I had intended to play a bit more and cash in the chips at casino cashier afterwards. We were in Cagney’s on deck 13 and as we started, I noticed lights, land, buildings and went ***** …… ship had entered the waters leading to Tampa.   We had received NO announcements that the ship would be arriving in Tampa that early!

After dinner I went down to casino to find it shut so went to guest services to cash in my chips. They also offered no explanation….

We docked in Tampa just after midnight and no one knew or could understand why so that early. Went to bed, woke up next morning, opened the curtains only to be greeted with real pea-soup fog!!! That’s why!!!

Dear God is Cagney's ugly. It looks so tacky to me with 70s era avocado green and orange coloring.

I like it. With all the muted grays and neutrals, you need a pop of color in there or I'll fall asleep. Especially if the quality of the service at Cagneys doesn't change and it takes 2+ hours for your meal.

I like the retro feel of Cagney's, and agree that it'll look more elegant under typical dining lighting than it does under the bright construction lights.

I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't include photos of the Studio area.

And I was right about that venue being the new sushi place! I love the look of Hasuki and wonder if the more upscale experience translates to fewer corny jokes. The whole ship looks amazing. I hadn't realized there was a glass exterior wall in the atrium.

Premium cocktails on tap is a 'thing.'  It cannot work for every drink, but it should be fine for some, as long as they use quality ingredients.

Yeah, cocktails on tap is common now at many land bars/restaurants etc. There's a few that work well premixed etc

Definitely comes off more premium and modern, which is a good thing I think.

Now I will say it's a bit hard to compare pricing on their first of the class versus the 6th of RCCL's. Oasis and Allure were quite pricey back in the day. I'm sure it will moderate once there are 3-4 ships.
