Any news on NCL regarding latitude points due to expire in April?

will they be extending the points due to travel not possible with covid?

Here is the link to the NCL forum.  That would be the best place for this query.

@flip2flop

Howdy!  emo22.gif

Thank you for starting a new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum for general questions regarding cruising. 👍

Since your inquiry concerns a specific cruise line I have moved your thread to the Norwegian Cruise Line forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have booked/sailed NCL frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers about NCL that will be of interest to you.

I sincerely hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! emo35.gif

Happy sails,

Thanks for your second post.

Your latitude points and latitudes status never expire. They just keep growing with additional cruises.

If you are specifically asking about casino status (which expires at the end of March), there have been no official notifications on what NCL intends to do. Although, since there have been zero cruise days available during this earning period, everyone assumes that the expiration will be extended a year like all other land based casinos and travel rewards.

i purchased 2 seven day alaska cruises (back to back) this month. they where featured on insider rewards  offering double latitudes rewards points. i worked with a ncl agent to facilitate the B2B.

how do i know if i received the additional 14 points?

I didn't know that Latitude points did expire, I have 14 points that I learnt 5 years ago which are still in my account despite not sailing with NCL again until 2018

Your latitude points will be awarded after you sail so 14 pts x 2 will show in your account after that .

Also, your reservation confirmation should have the code "LATITUDE" among other Promo Codes, which indicates you will get the extra points after sailing.

If you meant Future Cruise Credit (FCC)...

My May 2020 cruise was cancelled and my FCC was supposed to expire Apr 1, 2021. I just checked my NCL account and the expiration is now Jun 30, 2021. No email from NCL that it was extended, but I'm glad they did. Hopefully it's not a glitch in their system.

Happy Holidays!

thank you, that is the key piece of information. i am working a double this fine Christmas day; however when i get home i will check my summery.

this is my first time booking through NCL (i normally us "skymiles cruises") thus my first time using the insider offer.

I don't think it is a glitch. This is same to me as well, though NCL hasn't officially announced it. It seems that the FCCs / 10% discount coupons originally to be expired between Feb 2021 - May 2021 are all extended the deadline to 30 June 2021.

Respectfully, I think your answer is misleading.  The OP does know that they have the double points perk having confirmed the code "LATITUDE" on their confirmation document.  True, the points are not credited until after the cruise.

Also, little known by many, is that there is a designated Latitudes Program representative onboard every ship (at Guest Services) who has the means to look back at NCL's website at the time you booked to confirm this Past Guest offer was current at the time of booking.  Since some big box TA's do not put the "LATITUDE" code on their documents, this is another way to confirm it with NCL.

i dont believe my answer was misleading i n any way. when you book a cruise, the offer is one point per night, or 2 points per night if a suite or a haven, unless there is a special promo. you will not know for sure if you have been awarded these points until after the cruise when you can look them up. if you check prior to the end of the cruise, you will see the most recent points are not reflected in the total. that seems pretty clear to me. you will also be able (after the cruise) to notify ncl if you dont see the points.

So following that logic, do you not know you have the beverage package until you order a drink onboard and receive it without an additional charge?  Or order dinner at a specialty restaurant and receive the receipt after the meal showing that the SDP covered the bill?  Or book a shore excursion and see the $50 credit applied onboard?  NO, you know you are entitled to the promo by the specific codes recorded on your cruise confirmation documents (contract) provided by NCL.  You are a lawyer.  You know that your cruise contract reflects what you are entitled to.  If someone breaches the contract and does not provide the contracted services, e.g., NCL does not provide the points after your cruise, you have a legal path of recourse for something YOU DID KNOW you were entitled to receive.

no, once again you are mistaken. you know that you will get the drink package, dinner, shore excursions etc, as they are plainly listed on your cruise confirmation printout.

you may be aware that you are entitled to the points, but they will not be reflected until after the cruise  is over.  the logic is much simpler then you stated. i think that it;s you who are trying to confuse or at least muddle the answer.

i suggest however that we just let this matter drop. if you believe i am wrong, that is certainly up to you,

i just answered the question with what i believed was an extremely valid response

I would like to know what happened to the original poster.  I hate it when someone asks a confusing question and then never returns to their own thread to clarify.

Well, they only have two posts since 2010 so you can probably expect their next post in 2025.
