I am no longer convinced that just because we are vaccinated that we are safe from the Delta variant.....this just happened in Las Vegas......

It's not over until the fat variant sings..........

It is good to know that the vaccines protect against hospitalization with the Delta variant circulating. None of those people in the linked article became really ill. The vaccines are working as they are intended to work, including the Delta variant.

Ummmm,  no.

Not sure what the confusion is.

The thread I posted  is right here, close to this thread... page two now...

In my part of the U.K. vaccination is currently at 87% of all adults, and that percentage is significantly higher in the over 60s. Given the average age of  passengers, I don’t expect cruise lines feel the need to be threatened by the loss of business from any of those who choose to be unvaccinated. Any chance of reducing the risk of a ship being taken out of service will be top of every cruise lines to do list for the next few years.

Then...........essentially, anyone could have claimed they requested a religious exemption; it was not valid at all and there was no way for the provider to have proof. In other words......that claim for "religious exemption" was a bunch of hooey.

Right. The state had no right to question what someone said was their religious belief.

And just like some have posted about Florida's lawsuit against the CDC that the CDC does not know how to run a business, the same could be said about the NCL lawsuit against Florida; Florida does not know how to run a business.

Cruisecritic seems to think the suit is against the state of Florida, not against the Surgeon General of Florida.

Someone just sent me a video of a lady being escorted off a Royal Caribbean in the Bahamas  and she was having a serious meltdown!  Posed an interesting situation about people who have had Covid, had antibody test and have high count vs low, because not vaccinated (doesn’t CDC say you don’t need vaccine??) She had to have a pre cruise test which she did and passed.  Boarding they gave her a purple wrist band for non vaccinated - next day they gave her a test - according to her they told her it was positive - quarantined her to her room overnite and removed her from ship next day.  She asked for another test but they would not test her again.

So what about people in that category??  What group do you belong to??

So complicated.

It is not complicated....   She knowingly sailed with the 'VACCiNATED' wristband, which allowed her to, if she wanted, not follow protocols.

It really is that simple.

It is possible that THIS is the reason she was taken off the ship.

The test was most likely done, just so they knew if they might have any COVID on board.

It might not have had anything to do with whether or not she was truly 'positive'.

It sounds like her assertive/negative behavior could also have been a factor.

We have a cruise RT Ft Lauderdale in Jan '22 and will not cruise with unvaccinated passengers. How do you think Princess will handle the situation in Florida?

I agree.  I don’t want to be cancelled again in the middle of my cruise because someone has covid.  I would like to feel safe and have a more normal experience.

We may have to go out of another port instead of Florida.  We’ll see.

Unlike the previous lawsuit that Florida won (pending an appeal), Florida will not get to pick the judge this time.

You notice it was filed in the Southern District, instead of the Central District that the state chose for their case against the CDC.

She also asked to WATCH THEM DO THE TEST, which is when they said no. She was supposed to have a test upon boarding since she was unvaccinated, but she did all sorts of things wrong, IMO.

I think it was pretty safe to say they would not look to have Judge Merryfield 😉presiding.

Sounds like it worked: 11 cases-> 8 vaxed, 2 partially vaxed, 1 unvaxed:

“The source of the outbreak was an off-site private party on June 7 and all who tested positive are doing well and have returned to work,” he said."

I have just booked a cruise out of the US LA to Florida for February 2022 and was told by Princess that we had to be vaccinated.

I think it is too early for a policy change to be made today for a future date.  We may see policy changes by 2022, however.
