Will Princess cruise from Florida with unvaccinated passengers in Jan 2022?

While I agree with @Giles2000 that most of the Covid vaccines are a good idea, the new forum guidelines are such that we are not to be posting about vaccine advocacy or hesitancy, etc. 

 

Many people are concerned about vacationing with others who may not be vaccinated.  That said, no one ensures any other communicable disease with a vaccine available has been administered to passengers.  

 

I cannot find the post as the top banner now is about access to Roll Calls.  Anyway, I think it is fine to advocate for 100% vaccine cruises, or not.  But not to press people to get the vaccine or decline the vaccine.

As far as Princess and the other cruise lines go they want to stuff as many people as possible on these ships as soon as possible. If you will only cruise with vaccinated you better do it soon. In fact, the CSO may expire this month and the cruise lines can do what they want. First thing they will drop are masks and vaccine status.

If the cruise lines are smart enough to prevent a Covid outbreak on their ships, they will continue to impose safety protocols for un-vaccinated people. Masking and distancing is key for the unvaxxed to mitigate the spread of Covid to other unvaxxed people.

 

Vaccinated people are protected, including from the Delta variant. There is a miniscule chance of a vaccinated person becoming ill let alone needing hospitalization if they do get infected.

 

The cruise lines know this and should do everything they can to keep Covid from becoming a problem on any of their ships. Don't be surprised if cruise lines continue with masking and distancing for un-vaxxed passengers. They would be foolish not to.

If an unvaccinated person gets on a cruise ship - any line - they should know that they have a chance to die on that ship, and the cruise will continue as planned - no special provisions other than normal medical procedures available onboard and put off at the next available port that will take them.

For me I'd prefer a fully vaccinated cruise but NOT because I'm afraid of getting covid or getting sick, but I'm afraid of an out break that ruins my vacation. The ship will  not be able to dock at ports or even worse could just get cancelled very early on if there is an out break.  

Everyone has the choice on the vaccine but do they have the right to ruin my cruise too?  It appears so, and for this reason, I may just cancel.  We will see how the pandemic is in December before I make the final payment and then I will make my decision.  Happy Sailing for those of you have gone already.

Well, Princess cruisers...  Princess is not allowing any unvaccinated guests, at all.

And, I hate to mention any other myriad of possibilities that could 'ruin' a vacation.

Life, and vacations, are not risk free.

No guarantee.

 

I imagine that all the major cruise lines have systems and protocols in place to isolate and remove any cases of COVID from the ship.

 

And, as always....  this is a constantly evolving health and legal situation.

Things could change at any moment.

I am no longer convinced that just because we are vaccinated that we are safe from the Delta variant.....this just happened in Las Vegas......

Not sure when this will be widely distributed.
