Will Princess cruise from Florida with unvaccinated passengers in Jan 2022?

While I agree with @Giles2000 that most of the Covid vaccines are a good idea, the new forum guidelines are such that we are not to be posting about vaccine advocacy or hesitancy, etc.

Many people are concerned about vacationing with others who may not be vaccinated.  That said, no one ensures any other communicable disease with a vaccine available has been administered to passengers.

I cannot find the post as the top banner now is about access to Roll Calls.  Anyway, I think it is fine to advocate for 100% vaccine cruises, or not.  But not to press people to get the vaccine or decline the vaccine.

On second thought I would like to add to my post.  Going back to read the last few posts vaccinated or not vaccinated will not be considered in my mind by the  cruise lines. It is about their  bottom line to keep the company from going under.  They for sure will never respond to any of your suggestions.   No where in the US are we assurred in any store we visit, a sports event, you name it that the non-vaccinated liars will claim vaccination and will go without a face mask and not social distance.  Get use to the lies and decide how you want to go forward to protect yourself as long as the covid D virus is accelerating the infection rate yet again.  Don't gripe, wear your mask or cancel your cruise.  Don't fret over it for months to increase the stress your are already experiencing.   if you have any hesitancy about your safety now months from now will not change the facts. Cancel the cruise now.  For one we think if we isolate ourselves, wear masks outside our room which we are comfortable doing, distance ourselves by 6 feet and spend as much tune as possible of our time outside our risk will be no greater than going to the local grocery store between now and the departure of this cruise.

So, if (BIG IF) they did this, how many of the people posting here - and others like them - who do not want to cruise with even one un-vaccinated passenger on board, are going to want to go on the next all-vaccinated voyage when there has been un-vaccinated ship full of people exposed to the ship's crew for the prior voyage?

This is why I love this board, you guys think of everything and look at the big picture.  Very intelligent!

So you go out to all sorts of places with crowds of people that are not vaccinated but you won't get on a cruise ship. I don't get it.

As far as Princess and the other cruise lines go they want to stuff as many people as possible on these ships as soon as possible. If you will only cruise with vaccinated you better do it soon. In fact, the CSO may expire this month and the cruise lines can do what they want. First thing they will drop are masks and vaccine status.

If the cruise lines are smart enough to prevent a Covid outbreak on their ships, they will continue to impose safety protocols for un-vaccinated people. Masking and distancing is key for the unvaxxed to mitigate the spread of Covid to other unvaxxed people.

Vaccinated people are protected, including from the Delta variant. There is a miniscule chance of a vaccinated person becoming ill let alone needing hospitalization if they do get infected.

The cruise lines know this and should do everything they can to keep Covid from becoming a problem on any of their ships. Don't be surprised if cruise lines continue with masking and distancing for un-vaxxed passengers. They would be foolish not to.

If an unvaccinated person gets on a cruise ship - any line - they should know that they have a chance to die on that ship, and the cruise will continue as planned - no special provisions other than normal medical procedures available onboard and put off at the next available port that will take them.

Harsh - you betcha

if a vaccinated person catches the 'rona in a breakthrough case - that's different, sorry

For me I'd prefer a fully vaccinated cruise but NOT because I'm afraid of getting covid or getting sick, but I'm afraid of an out break that ruins my vacation. The ship will  not be able to dock at ports or even worse could just get cancelled very early on if there is an out break.

Everyone has the choice on the vaccine but do they have the right to ruin my cruise too?  It appears so, and for this reason, I may just cancel.  We will see how the pandemic is in December before I make the final payment and then I will make my decision.  Happy Sailing for those of you have gone already.

Well, Princess cruisers...  Princess is not allowing any unvaccinated guests, at all.

And, I hate to mention any other myriad of possibilities that could 'ruin' a vacation.

Life, and vacations, are not risk free.

No guarantee.

I imagine that all the major cruise lines have systems and protocols in place to isolate and remove any cases of COVID from the ship.

And, as always....  this is a constantly evolving health and legal situation.

Things could change at any moment.

I am no longer convinced that just because we are vaccinated that we are safe from the Delta variant.....this just happened in Las Vegas......

It's not over until the fat variant sings..........

When NY allowed the religious exemption for not taking the measles vaccine, they did not ask for documentation. And I do not believe the First or Fourteenth Amendments would have allowed them to do so.

Then...........essentially, anyone could have claimed they requested a religious exemption; it was not valid at all and there was no way for the provider to have proof. In other words......that claim for "religious exemption" was a bunch of hooey.

We have a Princess cruise scheduled for March 2022.  I expect much of this will be resolved by then.  If not, than while we and our friends are fully vaccinated Princess may want to include some non-vaccinated within their 5 percent and they can be segregated to places where contact with vaccinated is not possible, tested daily, not permitted in theaters, casinos or most pubic venues.  This is okay by me.  If they become ill, likely from bringing it on board with them, they can be let off at the closest passing wave.

Ummm...what if they bring it on and are a carrier and you get it and worse???  Just saying

The answer to the question is probably yes.

We cannot be sure if any of the vaccines will be cleared for children under the age of 12, and even if so, will immunization be mandatory.  In addition, although cleared, there are some questions as to whether all teenagers and young adults should be vaccinated.

We must not forget that individuals who have contracted Covid have acquired natural immunity, and the situtation is still unclear as to whether they should be required (although it is encouraged) that they be vaccinated.

Individuals for a variety of reasons (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, allergies to PEF) may not be medically permitted to receive a vaccine.

OK...I just think if it was me who could not get the shot and at this stage, I would not cruise and put others at risk, no matter how much I wanted to cruise.  Again, this is me.  How can others live with themselves?

Exactly as I had posted would probably happen...

I recently posted the current thread about this lawsuit.

This is FAR from over.

PS:  also think that all of the hateful personal judgements here are not warranted, will do no good, and should be looked at, banned, deleted....
