Maybe a dumb question but asking anyway

I doubt you believe this.
Regardless,

Of course playing by the book increases one’s odds. There’s a mathematical probability for every possible outcome and if you “play by the book” you have a statistical likelihood of losing less than not “playing by the book.” If you count cards you can even turn that probability in your favor.

ok...whether I believe that or not, it's still not how I like to play. I don't make a science of it, just "gut feel". People get far too serious about it.  The odds are always with the house anyway so you shouldn't play unless you are willing to lose, and you shouldn't play unless it is fun to do so.

Back to the original laundry topic, I just opened my Consecutive Cruiser envelope tonight and there were two laundry coupons inside.  I suspect there should have been only one.

I wonder how long this new B2B perk will last? Nice for those currently receiving it.

I’m willing to bet you’d win more if you played by the book instead of instinct.

I have fun my way and I've never met anyone that got rich by following the conventional wisdom from some author's analysis of the odds (except perhaps, the authors of the books). So...I'll do it my way. If you find yourself at my table, feel free to like it or lump it 🙂

Maybe you got one for each person. That makes sense to me.

I'm sure the casinos love you.

LOL------NO they don't !!!

Casinos are built and supported by Losers-- not " Winners " ( ?? ) --- like him/her !!

To keep on topic---- Best to take $50 and blow it on a bag of laundry,  20 Lacoste ( ? ) t shirts, or a Rolex ( ? ) watch in your next port of call.

Nahh, they saw how much luggage you may or may not have had at embarkation and thought "This passenger will need a few to get them through both sailings" LOL

They know you are a special passenger and are treating you likewise...

I trust you are enjoying your sailings, overall, especially not having to worry about the laundry.

bon voyage

I laughed when I saw both coupons.  Maybe a gentle suggestion?!  😆

Great cruises.  There were 68 B2B for this cruise.  About 100 staying on for the next one.

I am a fairly light but very efficient packer, after many years of flying around the country for work I certainly learned.  Even if Celebrity had do it yourself laundry, the LAST thing you’d find me doing is spending one second there.  Ships laundry may not be perfect but has always worked ok for me.

I find the laundry service to meet all out needs. The wash/fold is fine - I just unfold it, shake it and all is good for my cruise outfits. A lot of mine is the quick dry stuff that survives any laundry.

To each our own.

I’d not spend a minute in a self-serve laundry on board/on vacation…that’s the point of it all. And having a wrinkle on my shirt is not an issue since no one notices and those that do……who cares.

I don't believe playing "by the book" actually increases anyone odds.

That would be a strange believe for a blackjack player, since it is a game of odds.

But actually whether the rest of the players play by the book will have no impact on your odds.  But it does bother a lot of players, because of the “what if”

We've cruised with Princess many times and haven't ever stepped foot in their shipboard guest laundromats.

The last thing we want to do on any vacation. We will be gone 34 days next August on two cruises and 8 land days, we will use the ship's laundry service, no matter what it costs.

Had friends who complained about the costs of ship laundry…..she then went for a massage. I reminded her instead of the $60 home massage, she paid about $160…..its all relative. Myself? I have them do the laundry And get the massage! Life on vacation.

So true, I see people on CC complaining when a specialty restaurant goes up $5 in costs.  You are right its a vacation after all.

Not true. In craps, after an opening roll the odds bet is the only "free" bet in the house. Further the amount of odds bet can reduce the houses edge to nearly 0. You should learn the law of probability ..

Las Vegas was built on people who play by their gut feel.

Wash and fold doesn’t work for our cruise clothing.   We usually wash, lightly dry and hang everything except underwear and socks.   The wash and fold option leaves us with unwearable clothing.   They need a guest laundry or they should return your laundry pressed and on hangers.

Sorry how does doing laundry make your clothes unwearable?  Do they not iron it?

I learned from this thread.

Laundry - do it your way

Gambling - do it someone else’s way
