I read somewhere that Churchill is closed.  Is this true!

it is now non smoking, same as the casino. So it depends upon you definition of closed.

Started in late december when Princess and other lines tightened protocols.

Of course that can change at any time, when Princess decides that they can relax protocols to pre December level

I have seen information from those on board as well as photos of signs indicating no smoking anywhere indoors which includes Churchills. On the Grand where Churchills is also a bar believe bar is open with no smoking.

On Regal last week there was a sign in front of Churchill's that said "This lounge closed".

According to the original announcement, the ban on indoor smoking ends Jan 31, subject to reevaluation. 

 

We embark Jan 31 on the Ruby, so I'll have better or worse news then.

It was open on the Grand but no smoking was allowed inside anywhere. This was Dec 20th.

I don't think this is permanent. Princess is still advertising Churchill's as a cigar bar, this is taken from their site...

The current Health Protocols for U.S. sailings, which was updated on Feb 7th, still shows the below regarding smoking in the casino.  It does not indicate any date of expiration.

 

Our Casino will resume with enhanced and frequent sanitation of all high-touch surfaces, including table game positions, slot machines, and cashier areas. Smoking will not be permitted in the Casino.

Someone on the Sky posted this excerpt from yesterday's Patter on a social media group.  It appears the smoking ban is no more and Churchill's has reopened - at least on the Sky.

That's too bad, my brother and I were looking forward to finally doing some gambling in the casino on our upcoming cruise, we never do because it's just too smoky in there, oh well.

Same here.....the last couple of cruises we enjoyed the smoke free casinos....the casinos were packed too so I guess they are going back to dark days of second hand smoke.....they should be much more worried about that then other things Princess worries about in promoting "healthy cruising"..
