anthem, who got kicked off

Seems that both individuals could benefit from mental health treatment. My sympathies to the mother and boyfriend. Hoping they could enjoy the rest of the cruise in relative  peace.

Also, wondering if mother had to make arrangements for her daughter to get her daughter home from Nassau.  Double whammy.

The man (mid 40s) destroyed his room. He was escorted off the ship in Port Canaveral. His partner had to purchase a plane tix home & a car service to get him home, pay for the destroyed room (shocking how much that cost!) & pay medical before they allowed him off the ship. He’s been banned from RCCL.

The young women (mid 20s) was continuously loudly berating her mom (who was lovely & embarrassed) & staff, charged her mom’s account a crazy, crazy amount of money, left her mom’s room & moved into the man’s room who had just paid for his boyfriend to get off the ship with no legal charges filed & then accused him of stealing from her. Security came once again & she was escorted off the ship in the Bahamas. Also banned for life. All involved met in the casino bar the 1st night so I guess they were sorta cruise friends. It was one bad decision after another. Both mom & boyfriend stayed on cruise to continue their vacation.

The captain graciously didn’t discuss it. But the boyfriend pretty much told anyone who would listen what happened. All parties were in the casino nightly, as was I, so I witnessed their behavior personally & had gambled with mom & boyfriend for several nights before all of this happened.

RCCL was very discrete about all of it. But all parties involved were very vocal about what occurred.

That's horrible.    I feel bad for the Mom and the other guy.      Not the kind of excitement you want to see in the casino or anywhere onboard.

I imagine there will be some heated conversations with each family member when they get back home today.

I can see why the man who destroyed the cabin would be banned for life, but the woman who was loud and spent too much money…not so much. There are plenty of loud people spending tons of money on ships - half the passengers on every sailing would be banned for life if that were the case.

Oh I see she accused someone of stealing from her…maybe that’s what did it?

Perhaps she has a history?  Maybe she told off the wrong staff member or used a poor choice of words and said something deemed threatening?  Regardless, I'm thankful to RC that I'll never have to run the chance of crossing paths with these clowns.

Yes - you’re right that any of those things could have happened. Some think that being on a cruise ship gives them a license to do whatever they want. I’m glad RCI doesn’t see it that way.

How embarrassing can that be.  I am sure banned for life and whatever other bad things that come with the assclown package.

I didn't see that one in my Cruise Planner.  Is that under "Internet and More" or some other tab?

Do I get a discount for being D+? Or only if I'm Pinnacle and wear my fancy gold nametag?

D+ gets 2 vouchers to act like an assclown before being booted off the ship.  Pinnacles get 3 vouchers to act like an assclown + a lounge to "calm down" in afterwards.

All others must purchase The Key which entitles them to act like an assclown once before being booted off.  A "booted-off" lunch is included in the package, subject to availability.

She bought herself a couple of Rolex watches & treated herself very well using her room key that was attached to her mom’s credit card. Everyone who cruises knows buyers remorse isn’t a valid excuse for getting your money back. Not sure how that turned out for mom. Watches left the ship with the girl. Mom told me she was planning on going to her boyfriend in Florida & he would be picking up the tab.

This wasn’t normal rudeness to staff. This was over the top, cruel, and disgusting behavior mixed with tons of alcohol.

The rudeness sounds like it was over the top. I guess Mom doesn’t have to worry about taking her daughter on a RCI cruise for the rest of her life. Maybe daughter could pawn those Rolex watches and cruise on Carnival? I wonder if cruise lines share their banned list of people? Like a “No Cruise” list?

A few years back on an NCL ship,  during boarding a huge brawl broke out in the Atrium, needless to say 8 ppl were booted from ship and arrested. Idiot's ..

On another RCL cruise we took we disembarked 1 hour late due to Customs enforcement boarding ship and arresting a woman in the main atrium area. All I remember is her saying please not in front of my children, where is my mom. Guess she wanted the children to be with their grandmother as she was being arrested in front of everyone  DRAMA.

Sailed to Hawaii in 2007 on a 14 night voyage from San Pedro., CA. I kept seeing a loud voluptuous flashily dressed & jewelry laden blonde all over the ship that seemed familiar but I could not figure out why. She was traveling with a couple of boy teens that were with her at times. We docked at several of the islands but tendered in Maui. I took the first tender over to shore at around 7:30 AM with plans to look around until the rest of my travel party arrived. First tender headed back to the ship... and then another did not come ashore for two hours. Seems the tender that should have arrived shortly had been held up at the ship because the blonde and her family had been kicked off and were taking their sweet time getting their nine suitcases down to the tender to load. Apparently, the teens had pushed the limit after being in trouble several times during the week... they had been warned for throwing cigarettes down to the pool sun area from the deck above, harassing young females, and heckling other passengers. The last straw came when they trashed their stateroom and then etched profanity into the glass of one of the centrum elevators late the evening before their departure. Passengers who were held up by the hoodlums were furious, especially those who had scheduled day long excursions,  as the tenders did not resume until after 10AM an the ship's scheduled departure from the island was only pushed back a half hour that afternoon until 4:30. It was not until I had been home a month and just happened to be flipping channels on the TV did I realize that the family members were actually the "stars" of a TV reality show. Unfortunately, their "celebrity status" did not save them during that Celebrity voyage, lol.

I wish I had known this before my last cruise.  I would have definitely purchased the key!

I bought the key before reading this thread. I am going to use my entitlement..... not to get kicked off the cruise!

Trash the room a la Charlie Sheen or Miley Cyrus then report back and let us know how The Key’s entitlement protection worked out for you. 🤣

It was my 1st time on RCCL. I’ve been on over20 cruises. I was with a group of 8; 4 couples. I had seen most of it 1st hand. As did my husband. When I met up with my friends they already knew what happened because the boyfriend was telling everyone. Most of the ship new the names of those kicked off. Yes it was very soap opera -ish.

Anthem was an absolutely gorgeous ship. We saw the rocket launch while in Port Canaveral which was really cool. We saw pods of dolphins entering the port. The entertainment was amazing! The best I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship!

On a negative note, my group purchased the booze package & for the 1st 3 days every drink we requested they no longer had stock. It became laughable because you were lucky if they could fulfill the 4th drink choice you picked at the bar. We were told they would be restocking in Port Canaveral. Seemed to us they only restocked some things because we ran into the same problem all cruise. If we were lucky, 1 of the bars on the ship sometimes had what we wanted but we then waited an incredibly long time for our drink to finally arrive. We ran into the same problem with food items for the entirety of cruise. Waffles & pancakes served every day. Crew suggested using butter & honey for 1st 3 days until they restocked maple syrup on day 4. Day 6 they was no ketchup available. Coco Cay was wonderful but had the same issues. Limited liquor. Talking with others onboard there seemed to be the constant theme that tons of items were limited or unavailable. People who complained were told it was a “distribution problem.” HA! IMO, it was a cutting cost problem & not stocking enough for a cruise because of the variability of ship occupancy from cruise to cruise.

The staff were AMAZING! I can’t say that enough. The buffet was horrible. I had the best meal of my life in Jamie Oliver’s restaurant & he’s a personal friend so I can’t wait to tell him that. It was memorable! Chef’s Table was loooooooonnnnnggggg (almost 4 hrs) but well worth it. The steak house…subpar. But I’ve been on enough cruises to know that varies from ship to ship so truly no big deal.

Worst thing about the cruise??? The beds. And the pillows. Oh dear God. Everyone of our group were in agony with the beds. We requested a pillow top & it didn’t help. Again, not sure if that’s a ship to ship thing but I’ll definitely request two pillow tops when I book my reservation and we all agreed to join that group that travels with their own pillows in the future.

Some of the issues I mentioned would probably turn people off from RCCL if it’s their 1st time cruising on RCCL. But I’m the let’s give it a 2nd change sort of gal. After all, can you really complain if you’re on a gorgeous ship, with wonderful entertainment, staff that couldn’t be more accommodating and happy to be back on board, and great fellow guests. With all that’s going on in the world and what we have all been through with the pandemic maybe pancakes with honey and trying a completely different drink that the bartenders recommend is all serendipity.

Was it someone from that trashy Jersey Shore show.  None of them were from the Shoe area, but mostly New York trash. 😁

I am of the belief that those who suggest it... tries it first. 😂

LOL -- what do you suggest I bring onboard to do my misdeed?  Bleach, spray paint, ax, horse manure? Maybe I should wait until I'm Pinnacle to get my 3 get out of jail vouchers before I do the nasty act.

Not to go teetotaler here, but if they're going to sell booze packages, this is going to happen occasionally.  Like the airlines choosing to stop the sales (at least temporarily), they see it as a huge profit item.

I am a supplier to the restaurant industry and there has been a huge and horrible shortage and distribution problem so what you were told is most likely accurate. It’s bad enough that many of them struggled and were able to survive the pandemic then turn around and have this smack them in the face.  And part of the problem is not shortage of product, it is shortage of labor in the supply chain that gets it from the manufacturer to the distributor to the business be it a restaurant or a ship.

One can hardly draw that comparison. Have been on dozens of cruises, surrounded by tens of thousands of drink package card carrying passengers;  have never seen any type of major issue.

If you are trying to say that too much alcohol isn't a factor in these sorts of incidents, as well as when someone goes overboard, that's ridiculous.

Sadly, they also have to face criticism from those who don't understand that some problems are very  real.
