Another discussion where it seems people forget that cabins are priced using supply and demand for pricing.

I had one booked cruise go up versus last week and another go down.  Same as always.

Checked the price for the Prime Concierge staterooms on our Oct, 2023 Summit Canada cruise - increase of $578 p/p for same perks with this "sale."

Well I've started checking my 12 future cruises.

 

The Penthouse I was watching that went up $12,000 yesterday came back down and now is 500 more than it was 2 days ago.

 

I still have a number to check but many of them are sold out so can't be checked.    I checked a Key West Cruise for April 2023 and my price dropped $3,000 so am applying for a refund or will rebook.

As others said - the all included go away - now get $400 OBC per passenger  premium wifi and a choice of a shore excursion, Premium Drinks or Tips    No brainer for me since I'm a Zenith. 

 

Back to see if any other opportunities.

Frustrated- I saw a price drop and then saw that the same cabin I'm in on my B2B was available to upgrade into so I got excited! Then I saw it was cruise only rate and the AI rate was still more than I want to pay to upgrade (small discount since yesterday).

Sigh.

Are you sure it's refundable?  That amount sounds like what they add to base rate if you want to book refundable.

 

One of my cruises increased by $500, the other by $1000.

Can anyone confirm that the Wifi for the Elevate and Indulge packages is Premium Wifi? Also I noticed that the OBC for Elevate is for Shore Excursions while for Indulge it's for Shore Excursions or onboard. Would I have any problem canceling my existing excursions and dining, and rebooking with the OBC?

I believe if you have the AI rate both packages upgrade you to Premium drinks and Wi-Fi.  The Elevate OBC can be used for any onboard expense, or at least it was in 2020 when we booked our Infinity Aqua Class cabin for a cruise that was eventually canceled last year after final payment.

The 60% offer appears to be based on brochure rates.  In March, I paid $6300 for a S2 for a December 3 Apex cruise.  Today, the price is over $9000!  Celebrity, unfortunately, appears to be substantially increasing their cruise prices.

 

in comparison we just returned from a MSC Seashore cruise in the Yacht Club for under $5000 and have booked another for next May for just over $5000.

 

This was our first cruise on MSC and our expectations were greatly exceeded. While somewhat more casual than X,  the YC offered more than the Retreat with very good service. Differences included were a real bottle of Champagne on boarding, a bottle of liquor of our choice, unlimited supply of soft drinks and water in the minibar, an expresso machine in the cabin, a walk in closet, breakfast and lunch buffets in the pool deck and a butler who wanted to escort us everywhere. Yacht Club suites are completely separated from non YC suites and rooms.  We did, however, have to pay gratuities and a small cost to upgrade the free wifi to premium. Also, there was no OBC.

 

One caveat is that while the YC is exceptional (a ship within the ship), we would not want to experience the crowds outside the Yacht Club. The Yacht Club has about 130 suites out of the total 2200 suites on the ship.

 

We have cruised exclusively on X for the past 20 years, but economics are forcing us to look elsewhere.

Elevate only gives you basic Wi-Fi but upgrades to premium drink. If you want premium Wi-Fi, you have to upgrade all the way to Indulge.

We booked our Aug 5th Reflection Sky Suite in January for $4108pp when Celebrity had a real sale. After that sale, the price kept going up and up and topped put at about $6700pp before this BOGO sale, which lowered the price to $5700 as of this morning. When I looked earlier today there are only 6 SS cabins available on our cruise, when we booked in January it was wide open.

Yes it’s refundable deposit. I could have saved another $700 if I didn’t take perks but decided to keep them.  My original price for March 2024 Caribbean cruise was $6731 and now is $4993. My 2023 Caribbean booking were basically the same. Alaska cruise was way more. I guess it just depends on the cruise.

When the "Biggest Offer of the Year" rolls out and the prices are higher than they were yesterday, the offer isn't quite so big.

I think we need to face the reality that Celebrity is like a furniture store.  The name of the sale changes, and the prices fluctuate slightly.  Nothing is ever 'full price', because they know nobody would pay whatever it might be if they're told it's full price.

Another of my cruises for February 2024 in a sky suite was $260 cheaper BUT I booked this onboard my last cruise and got reduced deposit and additional $300 OBC besides the stated $800 ($400 pp). So it evens our more or less.

My February 2023 on 9 day Equinox to the ABCs in a Sky Suite has shown as unavailable for weeks now so I can’t price compare. Odd Sky Suites on both of the February sailings to ABCs have no suites available.

In the example I was referring to, it has nothing to do with supply and demand. The same cabin went up 29% overnight when the "new" "semi-annual" sale kicked in. 

 

Supply and demand works when comparing a sailing that may have been booked months ago, but not a huge overnight price change that happens to coincide with their "biggest deal of the year". I cant wait for the second semi-annual sale ....

They usually have a 4th of July sale also.    Celebrity has a sale for any event but really important to see if they are really sales or just shell games.

I was checking prices for a B2B for September, 2023 yesterday.  After I got sale info I looked again today and price decreased $5,800!  It is NR deposit as that is what I always book and a suite.  Booked it!  So excited as I have never been on a B2B!

If you are looking at Equinox on 2/9/23 to the ABCs, I am on that sailing.  The SV that I booked last November is about $1500 today.

The last I saw a really good sale was Black Friday 2019 , $50 deposit, 3 perks , $250 OBC and smoking price on a 16 night Reflection TA to Amsterdam , and there was Covid
