I observed last week that they strategically placed the Pokemon cards right next to the condoms in the machine.

I still can't figure out which one is the necessity purchase and which one is the impulse item.

Hello everyone and Good Morning. Welcome to DAY 5 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas

We arrived this morning to Nassau, Bahamas around 0715. We were docked by around 0740.
Passengers have been cleared to go ashore at 0830.

My plans today were going to be going to Margaritaville, but I may be doing that next week. Instead I may just explore what has been happening with the Port Nassau construction.

You can't see much from the Port Nassau webcam, but I have heard that many passengers have suggested a lot of improvement. I was here last December on Anthem of the Seas and a lot of work was being done on the pier.

While wandering around Oasis of the Seas this morning I forgot to mention that I like the new Unboxed vending area on Deck 15. Passengers have the ability to purchase many items without going down to the Shops on Board. These items include electronics, data cables, over the counter medications, as well as toiletry and personal items.

They also have a free charging system that will charge your device. You can place your device in a secure container and come back later and get it. It will be fully charged.

Here are a few pics. Thanks for tuning in.

Harmony has it now also (I think, could be Allure...can't remember for sure).  It was on deck 15 where the little shop used to be on the starboard side as you walk outside from the aft elevator lobby.  Makes sense as there was rarely anyone in there buying anything but it needed to be staffed when open.  With the machines, it can be open 24X7 with no staffing.  And the added bonus of making extra money when a passenger pays for a razor but doesn't get it. 😉

Harmony still has the little shop that I never saw open. Must be the Allure.

Well I did find out. I came down to the Aquatheater on the boardwalk level to see if the show was happening. It appears that the Aqua 80 show will be canceled for the remainder of this Cruise. I'm hoping they have it fixed for next week. The reason given for the cancellation is "technical issues"

Ugh! We will be sooooooo disappointed if it doesn’t run next week. They also had issue with the Aquatheatre on our May Oasis cruise. It’s really the only show we want to see.

Hello everyone and good day. I left the ship  this morning, shortly after we were cleared to go ashore.  I was able to explore the shopping area for a couple of hours, but the heat was getting to me and I decided to come back to the ship.

I believe that Port Nassau will be a model that other ports will want to  follow. It is not ready yet. It still has a ways to go. When I was here last December, about half of the Marine work was completed. Currently most of the Marine work has been completed and work has been going on feverishly on the land portion of the port.

The Arrivals building is going up quickly, the Vendor Market and the Transportation Center is going up as well behind the fencing. I peeked in a little bit.

Things will be much better when 2 things are completed. The first thing would be to get the shuttle Network completed. Port Nassau promises a series of shuttles for each of the piers.(even when they have six ships in Port) it is a very long way from Oasis of the Seas to the shopping area.

The second thing that needs to be done has also been promised by the Port Nassau developers. The 200 on Street vendors will go away. (According to officials) all vendors will be licensed and have their own building next to the arrivals terminal.

Currently, I think that the port area may still be one year away from completion. I'm not a contractor, and I am not a builder. I'm just basing my opinion on what I have seen so far.

As I write this post, Oasis of the Seas is pulling away from the pier slowly. Our next stop will be at Cape Liberty, in tropical Bayonne, NJ.

Here are a few pics from today.

Thanks for tuning in.

Hi great "Live" as usual!

Can you tell me if there are any on demand or PPV movies on the cabin TV?  We were on Ovation last month and very disappointed not one movie on demand or PPV or free.  One movie running continually all day just news and cartoons.🙁

We are currently booked on Liberty to Bermuda next May but may consider Oasis out of Cape Liberty mostly due to the continued testing.

I noticed when you posted the picture of the blue message directory board the temp was 82.  It has to be a default temp on Oasis class ships, when we sailed the Allure early August, every day the temp was 82.

Great review,

Thanks for sharing.

Take care

I just got an email about some cancellations on my cruise planner for our sailing on Sunday. It said due to a change they were canceled. It was Solarium Bistro on the last night, a MTD reservation, and just me off an Izumi reservation. I’m pretty confident it was just a screw up but with Fiona lurking not 💯. Have you heard of any changes for next week?

Hello everyone and good morning.Welcome to DAY 6 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas.

Today is a beautiful day at sea on Oasis of the Seas. We have sunny skies, just a few clouds, and calm seas. Over the last few days I have been waking up to cloudy skies with on and off light rain.

Last night I really wanted to watch Disco Inferno and the 60 Seconds or Less Game Show. I missed both of them. I was down for the count before 9:00 pm. I was however able  to watch the Headlines Showtime with Aeromyth. They are an Aerosmith tribute band, they are very good.

Today there will be fun activities on the open decks and inside. The shops on board open at 10:00 am, and passengers will be in line for the 2 for $25 t-shirt promotion on Deck 5. Vitality spa on Deck 6 is also running spa promos throughout the day. Today and tomorrow passengers maybe spending a lot of money for Oasis of the Seas retail and  services.

I had breakfast for the first time in The Windjammer Marketplace on Deck 16. I arrived when they opened at 6:30 and there were no lines and very few passengers in there. All of the food was very hot and fresh. This was unlike many of the reviews that I have read before coming on board this week. Many  passengers have reported that there were lines everywhere, the food was cold, and people were standing around eating eating their breakfast because they could not sit down. Between 6:30 and 7:00 when I was there, there may have only been about 40 passengers in the Windjammer.

There are a lot of activities planned today. Let's see what the day brings. Yes, I will be going to Casino Royale this afternoon.

Here are a few pics. Thanks for tuning in.

Thanks, Mark, for posting.  Just an FYI — last year when on Oasis for 2 weeks there was a similar problem with the Aqua show.  No shows the first week but a few shows the second.  For the first show invitations were issued for D+ and Pinnacles.  Two separate lines to check in.  So possibly be on the look out for that.  Katherine

The 200 on Street vendors will go away.

That needs to happen. I walked from where Oasis parks at Nassau to the town and was constantly harassed once I left the actual pier area. I didn't find the walk to be very far (even though they didn't have those nice shade things yet), but I did find the port itself to be very uncomfortable as a solo tourist who had a group of girls try to harass and follow him through a market after they had gotten into a fight on the street corner.

It's good to hear that Nassau is doing something about their port situation. I know it doesn't help having 10,000+ people dropped into it on a given day when there's four ships there, but I vowed to myself to never go back there after my first visit.
