But what about the pic. 😆  Funny thing you responded 1st.  Don't know if you remember but my first Live I did this time last year I was posting videos and they were hard for you to view.  I remember I had it set on 4k.  I learned how to downsize the videos and learned I could do it with pics too.  The food pics from Giovanni’s were downsized too.

Thanks

I think CC downsizes the photos automatically.   It would make sense that they don’t want to fill up their servers with huge file sizes.

I looked at one of the photos Greg uploaded, and it was downsized to 472 kb. Probably much smaller than his original.

They might resize after they upload but while they upload it shows you the size.  Some of mine were between 12mb and 22mb and was taking much longer  than the ones I resized.  The resized were about 1mb and less.

@Ozark_Kid I'm following along.  Have a fabulous cruise.

My time on CC will be very busy reading 3 Lives. Your's, Greg's and @John&LaLaJohn's.

I'm not complaining!

Carry on.

Bonnie, pls. don't forget Renee's ( @ReneeFLL), even though she's doing "just" a semi-live 😉

Sometimes, I will just do a screenshot of a photo and upload it.  Those look just as good as the photo, when viewed on my phone, iPad, or computer, and that is on a 27” monitor.   They load much quicker.

Photos are uploaded full size and then are shrunk and compressed online before being stored on the CC servers.  If you can easily shrink the photos on your phone, you'll save a lot of upload time. Photos sized straight out of a phone camera app are much larger than needed for just about any social media site.

When on an Oasis class ship we always try to get deck 8 that Dazzles is on. At night you can hear the music coming from Dazzles.   They have live music and a dance area.  Nice vibe.  I am not saying nothing happens there during the day but I do not recall.

If you zoom in you can see the some of band equipment.

Thank you…we booked on deck 8 this time too in a large oceanview balcony on the forward hump.  I was asking about Dazzles because I thought someone told me it was being used sort of like “music hall” is on oasis and harmony.  I would love a tribute band like they have on those ships.  Thanks for the post!

The only meh thing to me about Dazzles is some of the events they host their in the evenings are not appropriate for that space...ie, battle of the sexes, karaoke finals, etc. I know this is probably the only space they have available for that, but not the best area for it nonetheless.

I talked to an IT guy earlier who I believe was a higher up.  He said that last cruise they turned on Starlink for the whole ship to use and almost immediately had so many call saying there internet was not working. He said that Starlink could not handle the number of users so they went back to OB3.  He said Starlink techs are still on board working on it.  He seemed frustrated over it.  Not looking like a go for Starlink soon.

On the plus side.  I was able to use the ESPN app and stream a live game.  Another in our group was doing the same on his phone.

Well I was trying to document how long it was taking to get through,  put my phone in my pocket to take the welcome cruise pic and it deleted the post.

Quick version.

Suite and Key has a line.

image.thumb.png.bf3cdc11e3bed71b22fdbb415232b595.png

We walked right in at 10:08.

image.thumb.png.03923dbf9387c5bc2e64bb2ea8398c22.png

The suite line looked more crowded.

Love seeing that Key sign in the pic. We have it for our cruise in 2 weeks. Less lines means more fun in our book. 🙂

I was kinda wondering if you knew something when you put in the title - other than confirmed on Freedom and maybe Indy one must assume on all other ships Starlink is a work in progress.

We ate at Giovanni’s for lunch.   I was full. I need to remember Sharon's saying, when on a cruise you don't need to be hungry to eat.  3 hrs and 45 minutes after lunch we will be headed to Chops!

I really enjoyed Giovanni’s.   If we didn't have the UDP I probably would not do lunch there but it's good.

Started with some soft bread.

Today's soup was potato soup.   I think the best that I've had.

20221015_122116.thumb.jpg.b4ddbb78731e69987eb00f88308500c5.jpg

We got a meat plank.  Not sure it should be called a plank.  Much smaller than Jamie's plank but I enjoyed this one more.

The hamburger was really good.  The buns were extra good.  And I love the grilled onions.   Like a jam.

The Gelato was good but not great.  I was not to thrilled with the desert selection.   This is what it looked like when I finished.   😆

Good thing you hated it, or you might have eaten the glass and spoon

Random thought about the room.

Overall we like the room.

But the technology is a little old.

And limited plug ins. There is the on the desk.

But on one side of the bed no plugs and the other one hidden behind the bed.

There is limited drawer space too.

Sharon came up with a good idea.

With a metal wall she was able to do this.

We ate at Chops tonight.   With the lighting it was hard to get good pics.

Started with pretzel bread.  OK

20221015_174143.thumb.jpg.9bbbef6465fb0fcf2170fe192472099f.jpg

Had shrimp cocktail.   The shrimp is usually larger.

20221015_175427.thumb.jpg.bf4bf441927c7d52a2fd54bc2a24a2bc.jpg

I had some mushroom soup.  This was really good.

20221015_180442.thumb.jpg.afa172ce11278a319d92925ad8822bfa.jpg

A variety of sides.

20221015_182328.thumb.jpg.de2b52a862f9b52ff6eeb261245588fb.jpg

The filet was good.

And   Is key lime pie.  I was expecting better.

Not a bad meal.  Hopefully better on Day 8.

What's the odds.
Is it possible to maintain or loss weight with the UDP?
We were very active on the Alaska cruise.  We walked a lot at each port and in Seattle with our extended stay.  I lost 12 lbs.  Since the Alaska cruise I have lost an additional 5 lbs.
I haven't had my weight this low since.... 2013 when we were on the Allure.  We have been on cruises before when we maintained or lost weight by taking the stairs instead of the elevator.  My goal is to break even.  What do you think 🤔.  Your welcome to guess and I will let you know when I get home.  I forgot to buy a scale like @John&LaLa so no updates with pics.  🤭

I'm so impressed. I always put on weight on cruises. And yet we also walk a lot (maybe not as much as you though), take the stairs and even go to the gym. Last cruise we had breakfast and lunch in Celebrity's Spa cafe which is light healthy food, and dinner in the MDR.  No DP, so only had a two or three drinks a day. Still managed to put on 12 lbs

I'm guessing, with lots of sea days and maybe not so active as the Alaska cruise you'll either break even or put on a couple of lbs (hedging my bets 😄)

Have a great cruise

There is also one free plug under the desk

We use the one under the bed to plug in our charging tower, and put all the devices on the shelves of that tiny bedside table.

Do they have some good NCAA top 20 games on?

I know. I can't remember who is where on what ship. But I don’t really care. It's so much fun reading reviews from people I've gotten to "know" over the past few years.

I was surprised myself. I will need to gain some weight before we  cruise Alaska again.  😆
