First time on Oasis - observations

So we just travelled on oasis for the first time and loved it - it hits our sweet spot!

Observations were:

It’s big but doesn’t feel too big.

We like the amount and variety of things to do (OH gets bored easily) whilst still being able to chill out.

MDR was fine, we had MTD with reserved times. Never waited more than 10 minutes, and the only time we waited that long was lobster night, when it seemed busier than usual. Dining took about an hour on average. Quality was inconsistent, ranging from ok to outstanding ( grand marnier soufflé was a highlight). OH had steak in the MDR twice and said it was excellent and better than his steak in chops.

Chops was underwhelming - appetisers and desserts were good, steak was under seasoned.
150 Central Park was excellent.

Breakfast everywhere was a bit of a sh*tshow. Long waits in MDR and Johnny Rockets, items missing. No speciality coffee available in MDR (said the machine was broken and stayed that way). Last morning just went to Park Cafe, long lines and a manager decided it would be appropriate to take a (long and complicated) order for the people at the back of the queue and prioritise it over everyone else queuing- did not go down well with those of us who had already been waiting 30 mins.

Check in and debarkation was a breeze.

Aqua 80 was brilliant and the comedians were good.

Overall didn’t feel crowded other than in the casino.

Service was generally good with some stars (Edy and Dean in vintages and our cabin attendant Jingwal in particular).

We were front deck 10 in an ocean view balcony and it was very quiet.

Really, long lines in the MDR for breakfast.  I usually go for breakfast at around 8AM and the place is pretty empty.  I've been on 2 Oasis cruises since the return to cruising.

It wasn’t that there were long lines, we got seated quite quickly. But there was a very long wait for the food to actually be delivered.

Had a very similar experience with the MDR at breakfast on Oasis last week. Seemed to be seated quickly but the wait for the food was pretty long.

Breakfast all over seemed a little lackluster but the rest of the dining was great and I am definitely looking to cruise more on oasis class ships.

We have cruised in Anthem previously but now prefer oasis class.

We did one Anthem cruise and it was one and done .

I really wanted to like it , but Oasis class is a winner for us.

I only liked the Music Hall .

Was it the eastern or the western sailing you did. If it was the western do you Remember the showtimes for iceskating and the watershow. We are on Oasis the 9. Th of April.

This is the entertainment schedule from our October 9th sail if it helps

Did Oasis once and it was enough.  Had to wait to get into WJ and took us 2 days to find made to order omelets.  Love Quantum class and Radiance class.  Saying that will sail almost any ship, we love to cruise.

Omelets in MDR and Johnny Rockets.  However, I was able to get made to order omelets on Allure in the WJ in February.

FYI, prior to pandemic, the Oasis Class MDR for breakfast had a buffet breakfast with a made to order omelets stations along with many other breakfast items.  This was in addition to the breakfast menu.

In addition to the luncheon menu, they offered a "Tutti" salad bar with waiters making salads at request, pasta stations, antipasti, etc. and some 7-9 hot dishes.  Really enjoyed it.

Have to agree, half a dozen Oasis Class sailings and just finished a 17 night Ovation / Quantum cruise. Quantum Class just feels too small,  MDR splint into 4 low ceiling rooms a joke compared to Oasis Class. Music Hall a great venue, Two70 one of the worst entertainment venues I have ever been in. Vintages was our go to spot every night for late cocktails. Oasis Class is our hands down winner.

+1    Definitely do Not like the WJ on Oasis or Allure.   Liked the sun garden off the solarium on Oasis.    Do not like the DL on Oasis.  I feel like I am in a basement with no windows.

But we will sail on almost any ship, as you said, we love to cruise.

No omelets at Johnny Rockets anymore, they now have scrambles.

Really, that sucks. Do only MDR on Oasis for omelets.

If I recall, prior to pandemic they made omelets in the old wipeout cafe.
