$150 per person for the Chefs Table

FWIW - as long as we're talking about revenue sources - I'd be happy to pay for an actual room service breakfast. They've come a long with with the breakfast sandwich offerings now, but I'd still like to see fresh egg options.

Besides the NYE cruise I will be on Panorama in February with a girlfriend and I think we might do it. It seems more doable if you only have to pay for one, lol! We did the Chefs Table on the Radiance in May, it was her first cruise. She loved the cruise but we were both a little disappointed in the Chefs Table, it wasn’t bad, maybe our expectations were too high. 🤷‍♀️ My friend is a foodie and appreciates good wine and the wine definitely missed the mark. It would be worth paying 50% more if the experience is 50% better.

I have only done the Chef's Table on Carnival once, it was 6+ years ago and the wine was definitely the weakest point in evening. They had a red or white, nothing of note and the same two wines course after course, it was not a pairing event. If it's $150 and has a true pairing it *could* be worth it.

We opted for a wine pairing (upgrade) on our first Celebrity cruise 15+ years ago. One of the wines was a glass of Château Lafite Rothschild. Prior to that, I wasn't much for red wines - but that was the turning point! For reference, they no longer offer that on their wine pairing menu. Further, the Steakhouse (probably back in the Supper Club days) on Carnival used to have multiple vintages of that wine still available by the bottle (I can't recall if was actually on the menu). We sprung for it a couple of times - and now they're all a thing of the past. Those were the old Bob Dickinson days - he enjoyed his wines. Back then we even opted for their Wine Club, and had a few nice bottles show up throughout the year.

For $177 I'm going to have to see pictures of every item first, as well as whatever upgraded options they're talking about. On the other hand, I have no plans to cruise on any of those ships, so I suppose it doesn't matter...

My last Carnival's Chef's table earlier this year offered only a choice of red or white wine for the meal. I took both. An upgraded experience should include wine parings for each course. Time will tell. Living in the past will only become increasingly expensive.

We are leaving on MG in 15 days and chef table was $99 pp up until this week, now at $119 pp.  We have done it in the past but it was just way too much food in one sitting for me (I just dont eat that much at once so kind of a waste overall for me) although DH enjoyed it.  I would not go again but DH and DS may decide at some point to do it again I guess.

We purchased Chef's Table for our upcoming cruise, and paid $80+grat pp.  So that was good to lock in when we did, I suppose.

We'll do it once, but I doubt we'd do it again, even at that lower price.  For $150 or even "just" $129 (plus grat), nah, probably not ever again.

Wine pairings every course would be excellent! My friend and I both have drinks everywhere from the casino though so maybe it’s not that big a deal for us. I never thought about it but we could go to the steakhouse and get the top wine recommended for every course. Just saved over $100 each! 😜

Obviously the Chef's Table is not for everyone.  I have seen videos and there are a few things I would not eat. It just seems like a lot of money for food that I'm not sure I would eat.  Has anyone been to a Chef's Table and not liked a dish that was served?

The dishes are tiny.  Collectively, they fill you up.  So if I didn't like one, it would not be a big deal.

Yes. Even though I had looked at the menu prior and only saw 2 things I felt I might not like I decided I would try everything. Out of the 2 that I thought I wouldn't like one was good and I liked it. The other was so bad I wanted to spit it out, it was some kind of mushroom based appetizer.

We've done the Chef's Table four times I think.  It has become increasingly less appealing for us.  The wine (and yes, we do have Cheers on us included in our bookings) has been mediocre at best....and they haven't kept the glasses filled for our last two experiences.  The courses have been made up of offerings less costly, think no more wagyu, less expensive fish.

We were already pretty much done with the idea, but at $150, I would have to hear some really raving reviews.

We've done the Remi brunch and dinner on Disney with the wine pairings, and that was a one and done for us.  Way too expensive, although more of a foodie and wine experience than Carnival offers.

Yes the aeration beet dish. Tasted like dirt.

I think I'll sign up for my Magic cruise next month for $119. I'll be sure to report back. The description is a bit different from the past, which I have done before.

Treat your taste buds to the experience of a lifetime, culminating in a sumptuous multicourse dinner hosted by the Master Executive Chef. Your VIP experience starts with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres for a select group of 14 guests. The evening concludes with a mind-blowing full-service dinner of amazing appetizers, entrees and desserts not found on our regular dining menus. Confirmation e-mails will be sent 24 hours prior to cruise departure.

No food on a cruise ship is worth an extra $150.

I said the same thing on the Pride 21 years ago about the Supper Club (when it was $25 per person).

For you.

Boy, was I wrong about that - so many years ago. Having said that, I'm pretty sure I'll never pay $150 for a chef's table dinner in Carnival. . . And, having said that (!), we'll often hit that pp figure in the Steakhouse when the wine/champagne is figured in - especially now with the changes to the half price bottle program. Frankly, a smart move by Carnival.

We tried it once and we enjoyed the galley experience including amuse bouche but the sit-down dinner, although very nice preparation and presentation, was disappointing.  The quality of the food was somewhere between MDR and Steakhouse - I expected something better than Steakhouse, something more akin to a dinner at Daniel in Manhattan.
