The federal farm bill is quite confusing but please don't mix up THC and Hemp and CBD (or any other cannabinoids).  The reason you see so many CBD oil shops is that it is legal under the farm bill as long as it is derived from the hemp and has  no more than 0.3% of THC (not CBD) in the formulation. In other words CBD cannot get you high.  This has nothing to do with the fact that it is still prohibited on Royal ships, but CBD is a legally derived hemp product under the farm bill of 2018 (assuming proper formulation of course).

I live near Boston, but I also travel internationally and originally not from US.

This is why I am saying what I am saying.

 

I also can say that even here in Massachusetts it is very different than in NYC thankfully . Less ads, less sales... more regulations. We do not need to have pot Mecca here.

I am aware.  I was just responding to the commenter who was surprised that I said laws and views are changing on this.

 

I was aware what is and is not "legal" and "permitted" as well.  I wasn't looking to justify it, and frankly, I'm not concerned what a bunch of keyboard warriors on the internet think about my considering this clearly appalling malfeasance.  I was just looking for people's actual experiences and direct knowledge.  As stated, the fact that on occasion, they have been very aggressive and harsh with the consequences has sold me on passing on this idea completely. 

 

Fascinating study in how absolutely miserable most people on these forums are that we are now on page four of people offering their unsolicited pontifications and indignity.😅

In the next 10 yrs RCI will have dispensaries onboard. They'll be selling the "ultimate weed package", which includes unlimited snacks. If the RCI bean counters think they can make money off something, you can bet it will be on the ship.

Under 0.3% THC, not CBD, is what defines the plant as hemp (and thus legal federally in the US).

Edibles are not allowed, and there was a heightened level of inspection that started last season for the Alaska bound ships out of Seattle - both for checked and carry-on luggage.  It was crazy how many passengers’ bags were flagged, and how many passengers were asked to return off the ship to the security screening back inside the terminal.  Security was not fooling around.

Bringing any contraband isn’t worth it.

There is only one offense. There was a couple last week who were arrested for brining pot onboard a NCL ship "for personal use". Drug dogs detected it.

Anything you get aboard don't hide it in your room, that's rookie. Hide it really good in a common area (that is if they even search while the ship at port on Bermuda or Bahamas which I have never seen.)
