Princess Please Read - Elite Suggestion

Princess since we know you read these boards I (we) will take this opportunity to make a suggestion. Firstly, you have, without a doubt, the best repeat passenger program on the seas and you have made several upgrades to the Captains Circle benefits as a result of members’ suggestions. Just recently you recognized the single occupancy Captains Circle member by increasing their amount of credits earned. Great going!

Now, how about looking at what appears to be discrimination towards us married folks. When both passengers are Elite and sharing a stateroom only the benefits for one apply. While I recognize that most of your benefits could not be doubled the one benefit that could be “upgraded” is the mini-bar set up. My suggestion is that when both occupants of a stateroom are Elite (married or not) that you provide two (2) mini-bar set ups. The cost would be minimal and it would be a great way to recognize the status of both Elite passengers. I (we) would appreciate your consideration. Thank you, a loyal Princess cruiser.

CCers - if you agree just a simple posting of Yes will indicate your concurrence. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! :)

I will add the suggestion that if you are elite and sailing in a full suite you should get minibar setups for being elite as well as for being in a full suite. I guess that means if there are two elite members in a full suite there should be three minibar setups. After all, elite members have earned them and you have certainly paid for the minibar setup in the price of the suite.

As a lowly Platinum member with 11 Princess cruises under my belt, I agree with your suggestion.

However, I do not agree that Princess has the 'best repeat passenger program on the seas' in all areas.

Royal Caribbean starts their rewards with cruise #2 (gold) same as Princess but with a few much nicer perks: see below....

****************************************

Onboard Benefits

Ultimate Value Booklet* Welcome Back Party**

Complimentary Wine Tasting** Commemorative gift

Cruise Planning Benefits

Saving certificates online

Additional Benefits

Receive an extra cruise credit when you purchase and sail in a suite (categories RS, OS, FS, GS, JS) for sailings beginning on or after January 1, 2004

Receive an additional cruise credit for a 12-night or longer cruise/cruisetour on or after January 1, 2003 ****

************************************

On RCCL, the complimentary wine tasting is a $9.95 value, the Ultimate Value Book (which is much better than the savings coupon book on Princess) includes a coupon for $10 worth of casino money and several others. The extra cruise credit for longer cruises is a nice perk too.

Just thought I'd mention it. Other higher end cruises no doubt have even better perks but RCCL and Princess are somewhat comparable cost wise.

I'm not sure I understand your post. Princess Elite passengers DO receive onboard credits for being Elite not to mention better cruise pricing. A wine tasting doesn't do anything for me as I don't drink wine.

I'm assuming from your post that RCI passengers also receive the free Internet, laundry, priority disembarkation, mini-bar set-up, 10% off anything in any onboard shop, etc. so the only thing that I can see that you mention is the wine tasting.

Then why don't single Elite passengers paying double get two mini bars?
Because two Elite passengers in the same cabin don't get two mini-bars; they get just one.

Personally, I think that if you're on a longer cruise, Elite should get more mini-bar set-ups, perhaps a new one every 10 days. When you're on the ship for 21 or 31 days, the one set-up doesn't last long.

I don'y think so - after doing research I find that non of the competing lines have any free internet or free laundry service.

The point was that on RCI you get the perks after just ONE cruise...I did not say they were the same as the elite.

And no the elite level of perks do not start after ONE cruise...that is not what I said. I said that the perks were better SOONER on RCI. After ONE cruise on Princess you get basically nothing.

I don'y think so - after doing research I find that non of the competing lines have any free internet or free laundry service. Ron, I wasn't talking about 'free internet' which doesn't start till Platinum anyways...I was SIMPLY talking about BETTER PERKS starting on the SECOND cruise of RCI than the perks on the SECOND cruise of Princess.

The OP started off by saying that Princess perks were the best by far on the seas.....I was attempting to compare apples to apples. One cruise Princess perks is not as good as one cruise RCI...that's all.

Ah. You implied that overall, RCI's program was much better than Princess' which is why I assumed the comparison. Once someone has cruised Princess 4x, they start getting some really great perks.

FYI, I've been on four RCI cruises and never got a single perk or recognition of it.

The coupons and invite to the meet the captain free cocktails (like Princess) were waiting for me in the cabin on Embarkation Day.
