girlsjustwannacruise Posted July 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I decided not to book FTTF but i used to every single cruise. The price increase was the deciding factor. It seems that on my particular cruise im not the only one. I booked this cruise in December to sail in October. Im 90 days out now and its still available. And it hasnt ever sold out. Thats not been my experience in the past so just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
tidecat Posted July 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I’m sure the price increase has driven some people away, but I think the staggered boarding times also have a lot to do with it - if you get an early check-in time, that removes a lot of the motivation to get FTTF. Rare Saint Greg Posted July 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2018 People are buying all they can for my cruise next month. We had posts on my roll call about people getting up in the middle of the night to check to see if it came available again.
SkyPiglet Posted July 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I cruise in about 3 weeks, and FTTF has been available for a several weeks now, and is still available.
Retired_to_Cruise Posted July 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I cruise in about 3 weeks, and FTTF has been available for a several weeks now, and is still available. Remember, the number of FTTF slots open for a given cruise is determined by the number of Diamond and Platinum cruisers on that cruise. The fewer D&P, the more FTTF slots. Lottacruises Posted July 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2018 My last cruise there were only 40 something diamond and platinum and about 180 fttf. It didn't sell out by any means. It's still popular enough though and I am sure it still sells out most of the time.

The price increase has definitely driven us away. We managed pretty well years ago before the introduction of FTTF. We're getting close to being Platinum. I think we can get by without FTTF for a couple of cruises. With the money we're saving by not buying FTTF, my wife can buy a few more lattes at the coffee bar. ;)
NavarreCruiser Posted July 16, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 16, 2018 This is an interesting thread, Carnival seems to be close to the tipping point on price. FTTF still selling but not selling out on all cruises. We will never know the bean counters analysis of supply and demand, but if the price stays the same for an extended period we will be at that point. lizardhowson Posted July 16, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 16, 2018 We cruise September 2019. FTTF showed up May 1st, 2018. Here it is July 16th (2 and 1/2 months later) and it's still just sitting there unsold.
Havingfun2010 Posted July 16, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 16, 2018 Maybe, just maybe, people are beginning to realize that paying for free items, is just silly?
firemanbobswife Posted July 16, 2018 #14 Share Posted July 16, 2018 Maybe, just maybe, people are beginning to realize that paying for free items, is just silly? Time is money and that is what you pay for with FTTF. It is your opinion that it is silly and thousands of others disagree. However, with the recent price increases people are finding that the price now outweighs the benefit. Drop it back down and watch it sell out fast just like before. BoDidly Posted July 16, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 16, 2018 What's the price of the Diamond / Platinum sell :*ut going for these days ?
TEXSUN46 Posted July 16, 2018 #16 Share Posted July 16, 2018 We will get FTTF if we have a itinerary that has tenders, but on our upcoming cruise in October we will be docking at all ports and we will not get it or even check to see if available. That might have an impact on how many people purchase it. It is rare we ever have to go to service desk so other than the first few hours during embarkation it has no impact on our cruise. MBP1 Posted July 16, 2018 #17 Share Posted July 16, 2018 Even at $90 we found it worth every penny, one thing I hate is waiting in lines, FTTF fixed that.
billfish Posted July 16, 2018 #18 Share Posted July 16, 2018 What's the price of the Diamond / Platinum sell :*ut going for these days ? It only cost me $14,231.27 and what a deal. Came with a bunch of free cruises
bobandsherry Posted July 16, 2018 #19 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I never pay any attention to if FTTF is sold out, but just checked and it's sold out for my next cruise in October. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
tallnthensome Posted July 16, 2018 #20 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I already purchased FTTF in June for our August 2019 sailing. We don't feel like standing outside in any August Florida heat waiting for staggered check in. We like to get to the pier early .
jakesnana Posted July 16, 2018 #21 Share Posted July 16, 2018 We're sailing on the Magic on 8/25 and FTTF has been sold out for quite awhile. I don't need it for our cabin, as we're Plat., but would like to get it for brother's cabin and I have never been able to find it available. We didn't book the cruise until March and it was already sold out. I'm sure many of the people purchased it before the most recent price increase. scoobikins Posted July 16, 2018 #22 Share Posted July 16, 2018 Our cruises are still quite a ways out (Dream in May '19, Glory in October '19)), and FTTF are still available for both. I have it for the Dream, but debating for the Glory.
disneylover89 Posted July 16, 2018 #23 Share Posted July 16, 2018 We booked 3 months out from sail date. For a month I frequently tried day and night for FTTF, it finally became available and I snagged it. It was sold out again for a week and then all of a sudden it became available again and has stayed that way since.
joepeka Posted July 16, 2018 #24 Share Posted July 16, 2018 For our Alaska cruise for next July (2019), I noticed FTTF became available about 2 1/2 months ago and it's still available. Don't know if it's because Seattle embarkation and staggered times make embarkation much smoother, the lack of tender ports or the price increase or what but it's not selling for that particular cruise. picomullet Posted July 16, 2018 #25 Share Posted July 16, 2018 I wonder if this is because they are offering more passes. Seems they offer lots of spa passes because they seem to always be open. Last cruise the T pool was so crowded at times.
