disembarkation can you wait in your stateroom?

Recommended Posts

They need you out of your room by 8 so they can get rooms ready for new passengers. Unless you are doing self disembarking, you will be given a designated meeting location & time. Even if self disembarking you will still have a  location to meet.

Unless you are in a suite like star class.  In that case they will ask what time you want to leave and come get you in your room at that time.  We usually have the porter show up at the door at 8:30 anyway though because that's what time I want to get off 😉

We stayed in our cabin until 8 and then we took our stuff and went to breakfast. By the time we were done with breakfast our luggage tags had been called and we just walked off of the ship. We had a late afternoon flight so it was nice to sleep in a little and not get in the way of people that were in a hurry at breakfast. We were out of our cabin by the requested time so we were out of the sewards way. I hope this helps!

You were fortunate.  It sees that the ships we have been on recently have had disembarkation day breakfast ending at 8am.

Interesting. On Allure in February all venues were open until 8:30 and Cafe Promenade was open until 9:30.

Makes sense, it takes a lot longer for 6K people to disembark.

We opt for self disembark or an early (first time slot for D+ or suite's) and leave our cabin and exit the ship....we don't go to the assigned location....we time everything accordingly...this works out well for us.

On Indy a couple of weeks ago MDR ended at 8, Windjammer at 8.30 and Cafe Promenade and Sorrentos at 9.

Cruise is over. Go to your assigned  waiting area. Let the cabin attendant get the room ready for the next guests.

Spoken like a true Royal DS!  🙂  Though I bet your first post was more comical.  😉

or do you go to a specified waiting area

Yes unless you are self embarking.

On certain cruises if you have a late flight they offer late departure till 3pm for $39 but you still have to be out of your stateroom at 8.30am.

This was on Independence in October 2018.

We do self assist. Always asked the room steward the morning before if we can leave our luggage out of the way in the room till we are ready to leave. It was never a problem. We go to the buffet around 6:00 AM and just eat comfortably, not rushed. Once they call and start. We go to our room and retrieve the luggage and get off. By that time self assist has finished and no waiting in line. The  customs line is usually almost gone.

Even in Star Class they want you off the ship by a certain time.  We always ask our genie to meet us at 9 am, which I think is the latest they will escort you off the ship.  I agree that you need to get our of your room so the stewards can get it ready for the people who are waiting anxiously to get on.
