Bingo Price Inflation

We were on the Royal last month and played Bingo on the last day before the end of the cruise.  Cost was $45.00 for the minimum package.   We are currently on the Royal again, and it's the last day before the end of the cruise.  Went to play bingo (and played) and was shocked that the minimum package now cost $69.00.  This is for the tablets.  Paper boards cost the same as the tablets.

Not sure that it is worth it to play anymore.   Four games for $69.00.   OUCH!!!!

I realize this is just one person's opinion, but I know we will not be playing anymore at that price.  Hopefully it is just a trial price adjustment.

WEll they will not get me to play for that amount, played on Coral in November, played only one sheet of paper... think it was $20.    Going on Grand this month, will see.. I like the old paper vs tablet way of playing...

I don’t play anymore either. The prices are just silly and not worth it. Once everyone stops refusing to pay these outrageous prices for a simple game of bingo they will be forced to come to their senses and charge a fair price. Until then I will be boycotting 🙄

Stopped playing on our last cruise once we realized most of the winners were on the tablet. The price is just to high! Come on Princess, let’s not be robbed! Will not be playing any more at these rates.

Perhaps their plan is not to lower prices but rather eliminate the game.  Once the price gets so high that no one plays, it's easy to justify cancelling it.

I stopped playing Bingo on ships when A) the price went in excess of $15/game and B) when it went to a room charge rather than cash buy-in and stopped being a cash payout of ALL the bingo revenue from that session.

Cruise lines realized Bingo could be a huge revenue source and took the joy out of a simple game of chance.

Same with us - we used to play every cruise until we realized only people holding the tablets won. We won't play anymore.

We stopped playing once the tablets came in.  Not fun anymore

They still have the paper for you. I have won with a single free card. So have others. Not always how may you play. Only if you have the card to win. I do agree. 36 cards on a tablet is a better better. $69.00 for Bingo or $69.00 in the casino. We win more at Bingo than the casino.

I have always win more in the casino. 4 1,000 winners in 24 hours one year. 3,000 winner the next.  I view bingo as a fun experience and the tablets take all the fun out

I enjoyed only having paper cards on the Pacific! I wonder if any other Princess ships still only have paper.

On the Sky recently Both. Do not remember which ship or cruise line. Last year we had the very big old ancient cardboard ones with sliding yellow plastic covers for each ball. No paper or pads offered.

The most we ever one in the casino was $1,000.00 one time. On every cruise always win at least a few hundred in the casino. But I spend a lot more than a bingo game also. Sometimes more than we played sometimes less. On the Sky we won bingo 3 times. One was the music bingo.

If they have tablets we always play both. A far better bang for the buck. Want a clue on how to win at bingo. Pay close attention and do not bother with anyone when playing. One number missed and you can just about kiss your win good by. I see so many talking to one another and not paying close attention to the cards. You can miss a number so easily. We always double check one another and we do find that every so often I or my wife missed a number.

Just came off a Panama Canal transit on the Pacific Princess a couple weeks ago.  They were only doing paper cards...no tablets.  It was priced the same as all other Princess cruises we've done which was $40 for the "top tier" package.  I actually won.  I made my initial investment back with another $40 to boot!  (It didn't hurt that there were only about a dozen people playing!)  Bingo was such a surprise on the Pacific.  It was always in the Casino Bar which only accommodated about 30 people total.  We were used to Bingo being played in the main theater or maybe Princess Live and up to a couple hundred people playing.
