Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

@Lionesss    I haven't posted in here before, but my mom and Step-dad live in Cortland, not far from you.  Their power is out until Wed.  Do you have an update on Vienna?  Hopefully soon for everyone.

We were out on our street after 12 hours at 3am power restored. But parts of Vienna still have no power.

We had a generator. So we were good.

Frustrating. Trees down. Power lines still down.

Be safe.

My best friend went to Pittsburgh to pick up a small freezer generator.

The closest she could find one.

Be safe.

I'm not usually one to share drink recipes, but I ran into this on FB and thought I'd share it with y'all:

BOOZY EASTER BUNNIES

1 Part Irish Cream
1 Part Amaretto
1 Part Butterscotch Schnapps
Splash Milk
Hollow Chocolate Bunnies

PREPARATION
1. Gently cut the top off of hollow chocolate bunnies. Set aside.
2. In an ice filled glass combine irish cream, butterscotch schnapps, amaretto and milk. Shake well.
3. Strain mix into bunnies and add straws.

I hope there are bunnies this year. Those poor people. What a sad thing. The RM Palmer plant is the one that blew up in PA. They make the hollow chocolate bunnies, that I so enjoy. 😔 The rest sounds good. But not a butterscotch, toffee or caramel fan.

Thanks for asking! I have been overwhelmed lately. My company was bought out in December, so that’s been a whole thing in itself. Then we had our Princess CA coastal cruise during spring break two weeks ago (amazing!), so that required a lot of planning/packing/prep. This cruise was planned long before I knew about the buyout at work, but it was unfortunate timing.

Two days after we returned to TX, I had to pack up again and spent most of last week at the new company’s HDQ in San Antonio to attend last-minute meetings about merging our accounting systems, which will happen next week.

I wish I could fast-forward a couple of months until the worst of the integration is over.

Here are a couple of pics from our cruise:

Beautiful brand-new ship

This forward-facing balcony was fun to try! It was so roomy, and the price was great because it was considered obstructed.

Wow, a lot of posts over the last couple days.  Just wanted to say a few things, before I get further behind.

@brillohead congratulations on finding your birth father and the great reception you received.  One part of the journey complete, and a whole new chapter yet to come.

@Sunshine3601 have a great cruise.

@dani negreanu I hope your DH’s diagnosis moves from unexplained, to something that will give him relief. Sending prayers your way.

I sure hope things get back to normal quickly in your area, and that electric get quickly restored for all involved @Lionesss and @h20skibum

We have rarely lost power at our house, and on the few occasions we have, it was not longer than 10 minutes.

We were lucky we only had a few branches down.  It was sad to see that there were at least 50 large pine tress down where we like to walk at the lake.  They will have a lot of cleanup to do.

Finally caught up. We picked up our grandkids and took them out to breakfast yesterday.  Susan had planned a couple crafts for them to do, when they came back to our house.

Painting some clay pots.

Some of my old t-shirts worked good to keep paint off of them.

@TravelGirlinDallas, love the pics! And so glad all is okay.  I understand the wish to fast forward a few months. For me, it is November I wish to fast forward to! Two software upgrades, one other complete software change and a month of duplicating work.

Here’s hoping the rest of your work transition goes well. Thanks for checking in. 🙂

Guess we are best to book the 1 package @ $17.99 per day now with 2 devices($391) and leave it at that. Rather then waiting onboard, 4 free days..........then 10 days  @ $30.00 a day, $300,  then adding a 2nd device to  that $300 package has to be more then $91.00 right?

14 day cruise.

I can’t speak for the pricing, but be prepared for it to be mediocre to possibly good at best.

I feel for those having to clean up trees after a big storm.  Thankfully this tree missed their outdoor hydrant. That would have been another mess.

With the number of trees down, I was amazed they all missed hitting several buildings and brand new storage sheds too.  They fell all around them, but managed to miss them.

Construction of our kitchen starts in about a hour , they will demolish all kitchen cabinets etc , getting new tile to the floor also (which is not needed in my opinion) will also replace all of our current stainless steel appliances. Will take some before and after pictures, hopefully this will only take a month .

Your grandkids are adorable and they did a great job on their Easter decorations.

I think the onboard of $30 is per device.  I don't believe they discount 2nd device onboard so Yes, your best bet is buy online now and keep a watch on prices should there be a sale prior to your boarding.

We purchased our internet for 4 of us on the black Friday sale.

Love the clay pots and I’m stealing this idea (along with the old t shirt idea) to use this coming weekend when our granddaughters sleep over.  You and Susan are #grandparentgoals.

Stuart Woods is a very good author. I still think "Chiefs" is one of the best novels ever. (From any author) And if you ever get a chance to watch the mini-series it was very well done. That would be the Will Lee series, but the other books don't reach the caliber of "Chiefs". His Stone Barrington series is fun. As is the Holly Barker series. He is not consistently a good writer, but generally his novels are very enjoyable. (IMO) ☺️

I agree with everything you said.   The only complaint I had with the Stone Barrington series was all the sex in the begininning of the series but over the years he has definitely toned that down.

I am 5 or 6 books behind d on this series.   I do most of my reading on cruises and in the summer.

Difficult for me to read in the evening when I get home from work as I usually enjoy watching TV shows with Eric

We picked up all the supplies (except the chocolates) at Hobby Lobby.  The acrylic paint dried really fast, so it didn’t slow them down, waiting to dry.  The old spray cans worked well to keep the edges clear while they dried.

Hurricane Floyd 1999, our NY backyard.  We were fortunate the trees didn't fall on our house. In the first picture, the top of the tree that fell on the fence, to the left of the swing, landed across the street a few yards from my neighbor's front door.

So glad all impacted by the current storm are safe.
