The only authors I've recognized are Grisham, Lee Child and "Robert Galbraith".... but I took notes 👍

If I may, I'd like to make a book recommendation.  It is non-fiction.

The Myth of Normal, by Gabor Maté.  This would interest a wider audience than the title would imply.  I would recommend this to anyone in the Health or Education services, and also anyone that may be going through some challenging times.  I just finished it last week.  It is a bit out of my usual genre (Steven Pinker, Michio Kaku...) but It has changed my perspective, understanding and compassion for people.

"What Is The Difference Between Brown And White Gravy? The main difference is the liquid that's used in the gravy. Brown gravy is normally made with meat fat and broth, while white gravy is made with milk.Jul 16, 2021"

I am foreign, in that we live in California and not the South. 😄

When I moved to TX from NY almost 20 years ago, the only white gravy I heard of was served with turkey.  Brown gravy was served with beef.  The first time we had breakfast out in TX I asked the waitress what the white stuff was for.  Her response "ma'am that's gravy for your biscuits.  I asked confused:  gravy with biscuits???

Hey kraken fans keep a lookout for this new release.

The Kraken Gold Spiced Rum is their latest offering, based on the one thing a giant undersea Beast loves more than deep-sea darkness: gold. As a contrast to their rich Black Spiced Rum, this new variety promises a lighter, more molasses-hinted flavor and caramel aroma

sounds delicious. Cheers!

On Friday my DH was planting some gardenias and agapanthus in our front yard…and accidentally cut the internet line.  🙀  So no TV…we watched a bunch of DVDs.  I could text but no email or web surfing.  Luckily AT&T came this afternoon and restored it!

Minnie lounging artistically…

I am sitting here calmly under a tornado, hail storm watch.  Been there, done that.  I just yawn and wait for things to get back to normal.  Hope all our Dallas area friends stay safe.

Storm passed us without damage, we had to move stuff so we could fix wife’s new Subaru Outback in garage while my old car was on the street since garage is filled with other furniture while kitchen is being remodeled.

Never had biscuits and gravy until moving to Dallas never saw white gravy either , really enjoy that now.
I read paperbacks either bought new or half price., I read mystery like Baldacci, Child, Patterson, I buy wife newest hardcover she reads mostly biography type

Ding, ding, ding! Now that's what I'm talkin bout!

I didn't know there were so many "foreigners that post here.  😳

BTW,  when the waitress asked where they were from they said Missouri.   😆

From what I have read it is popular in the Ozark and Appalachian Mountain regions.   I don't recall it served other than around here.  It was a one and done for me.  Sharon doesn't eat it either.

Just incase no one noticed,  the original post was intended to be a funny.   I would of been shocked if most had heard of it.  I never heard of it until we moved here.  Actually it's the only Cafe that I can think of that serves it.

Do you folks put it on your grits?😉😊

I am about 15 pages behind, and I hope to catch up in a couple days.

Just remind me again, who I should blame for posting about Kraken Alexanders.  They are so good, and I am enjoying one right now.

And, as an FYI, they even taste good when served in a wine glass.

How do you like your grits? Regular, creamy or AL Dente?

No.  That would be shrimp that goes on grits.  Cheese grits for us.

And you don't use instant grits, right? No self-respecting Southern would use instant grits!

*** pumps fist in air *** Yes!  I worked two My Cousin Vinny quotes in one post. 😃

No instant grits.  Get them at the tractor shows freshly ground.  Creamy and cheesy for me.

I thought I would recap our cruise on Anthem this past week with a 7-night itinerary to PC, Nassau and CocoCay.

We had great weather with smooth seas the whole trip.

Re:   FOOD   We ate dinner in the MDR every night except for one night in Chops.   We enjoyed their new menus.    Some of our favorites escargot and french onion were offered several times.

There was only night meal where my pasta arrived luke warm and I cannot blame that on the waiters.   It was the night their service was interrupted so they could do a little entertainment.   They actually started a congo line in the MDR.

On Lobster night Eric and Chris ordered 2 lobsters and I ordered the chops filet with my lobster.   The waiter first told me he could not bring out the filet at the same time as the lobster which is odd but is their new policy, in the end he did end up bringing me the lobster plater first then 2 minutes later brought my filet with bake potato.

Our dinner at Chops was perfect.    All our meals were cooked to perfection.    Love their shrimp cocktail.    The only thing we avoid in Chops is their lobster bisque.   Not sure how they make it but it is not the type of lobster bisque we are used to have at other restaurants.

We enjoyed breakfast 2 or 3 times in MDR as this is Eric's preference.   I personally prefer WJ for breakfast and lunch.  We did have lunch in MDR on day 2 as I love their Lamb Pita with Greek salad.

Us folks don't put it on anything.   We are not  grits fans either. I need to check the Mason Jar menu to see if they serve stuff like this.

Yes, you will find shrimp and grits in the Mason Jar, lol!

RE:   Activities and Entertainment     Going on the cruise with two 20 somethings is exhausted.   We were constantly doing some type of activity during the day.     We played pickle ball for a bit, volleyball, and water volleyball.

We all went to Quest and had a great time.     Chris and Donna were in total disbelief when grown adults started removing bras, pants and sharing whatever items were needed for a particular round.   We never laughed so hard.    Unfortunately our team captain had slipped while doing the moonwalk and dislocated his knee (his Patella).     I saw him the next morning at pool deck and he said it was popped back into place (which was very painful) and was wearing a brace and felt much better.

We enjoyed the game show Majority Rules and Love and Marriage as well.     I cannot remember who the cover band was this trip but we did not enjoy them as on other sailings of Anthem.

Re:    CREW - we were able to have room cleaning twice a day but had opted for once a day in the evening only.    She was thrilled to hear that.

There were only 2 crew members that we had issues with and they both seemed fairly new and hopefully can get their groove on.    One was the waiter at Jaimes (went for lunch on Saturday).    He was very forgetful (forgot to bring our meat plank, forgot our garlic prawn appetizers, never brought us water and Chris had to ask 3 times for a soda, also a long wait for our coffee when it wasn't all that busy.

Second was a new bartender in the Casino.    She made Horrible drinks and kept insisting everyone have a water with their cocktail.   She constantly told everyone how she was a single mother and how hard it is to be a single mother.    She seemed like she wanted to just talk to everyone and not actually make drinks.     But we did find an amazing Cocktail Waiter (Bernie) who made excellent drinks and made sure we had a cocktail in hand whenever we wanted one so we didn't have to leave our seat at the slot machines.

Yes, I did have a Snack Shack Crispy Chicken sandwich and made sure it was cooked at every bite.   It was Perfect!     So is their funnel cake.

Overall, it was a wonderful cruise with Chris and Donna.    They are definitely hooked on cruising and we are talking about an European and/or Med cruise for summer of 2024.

Definitely going to bed early tonight to get up at 5:30 am to go to work.    The business owner is in the office for the next 2 weeks and says he has lots of projects he wants me to help him with and for me to plan on staying late at least one or two nights.   As well as for all of us to go out for dinner and drinks while he is in town.

Otherwise, Everyone else was awesome!!!

Laughing at their response to Quest. You should have packed a sexy bra in your handbag and then whipped it out when requested 🤣 Glad they had a great time & want to cruise again.
