Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

I'd suggest doing some research before ordering a full-face mask.  We asked about them on a snorkel excursion somewhere (might have been Woodwind in Bonaire) and were told that they don't use those masks.  If you are snorkeling for a longer period of time, carbon dioxide can build up in the mask.

I suggest people go to a dive shop at some point and getting a well fitting regular mask.  I have a small face and getting a mask that really fits makes snorkeling so much more fun.

DH had one. He didn't like it.. It used to fog up a lot and he also read about the CO2 buildup. No thank you. Using the normal one now.

Covid has evolved. I don't think people are afraid of it in its present form and I don't foresee cruise lines going back to prior mandates but only time will tell.

People are catching the "common cold: and other respiratory viruses with symptoms far worse than many have with Covid and yet they behave completely differently.  SMH

The one I have has one way valves so you do not get the carbon dioxide buildup.  Some of the early ones did not have that feature.  I have snorkeled for a couple hours with no problems.  Did meet someone using an old one, a couple years ago, and he was getting light headed using his.

The fit does make a difference.  Susan could not get one of the full face ones to work for her, because of her narrow face.  It is always a good idea to get a good fit and try them out before taking them along the first time.

It’s been a very busy couple of days in Rome. Yesterday we visited Piazza Navonna, the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain.  Last night was a twilight food tour through the Trastevere neighborhood. I booked this with Eating Europe and would definitely recommend them to anyone. There were five other couples on the tour, our guide was great and the food & wine were fantastic.
Today we had skip the line tours for the Vatican and Sistine Chapel in the morning, a break for lunch, then another skip the line tour of the Colosseum this afternoon. In hindsight, I should have done the opposite because it was blazing hot at the Colosseum.
Tonight we’re having dinner at a restaurant in Campo de Fiori called Giordo’s.  It’ll be our third time eating there since we arrived! Dinner the first night, lunch yesterday and dinner again tonight. Really great food and the staff is awesome.  I’ll try to post some pics tonight.
We’re looking forward to boarding Edge tomorrow and not having to walk a lot, for tomorrow anyway.

Have a great cruise. I will be interested in hearing from you which dining rooms and or specialty restaurants you dine at and how you liked them? We will be on Beyond for our first Celebrity cruise in April. Trying to decide which restaurants to book.

I am seeing the rain on the news!  Lots of flooding.   A person in Brooklyn is sharing a video showing water coming in the door of the bus she was on.

Our favorite specialty restaurant is definitely Le Petit Chef we do it at least once on every celebrity cruise , it’s the only specialty restaurant that is on all 3 ship classes. We did it twice in March .

I am about two hours east of Brooklyn. My daughter who lives near me works in Brooklyn. She just called to say she left work at 2:00 and the highway that she has to take to get home is flooded. The only other way to go is to take Brooklyn city streets and try to get on the highway at a different entrance but that means going through very high crime areas. She may try to get to a friend of her husband who lives in Brooklyn and stay there for the night.

I have had 4 careers.I define a career as a job of at least 5 years. Therefore,I could choose to tell one and that would be truthful.

Of course, you'd want to mention your least successful career.  I haven't watched Survivor in years  but from what I remember, if someone was "too successful"  (i.e. lawyer, pro athlete, etc), they become an immediate target as they were deemed not worthy of winning since they didn't t need the money.

I remember the season with Johnny "Fair Play" telling the story of his dead grandmother who was actually alive & healthy in order to get sympathy votes.  I probably stopped watching the show shortly afterwards.

Stay dry Lenny!

Plenty of flooding north of NYC as well.  Once again, for the 2nd or 3rd time this year, we received a month worth of rain in a few short hours. A lot of parkways that were built in the 1920's & 1930's with names like Bronx River Parkway, Saw Mill River Parkway, etc - since they were built next to or on top of those rivers - are flooded. No surprise since water flows to where it's always been.  I learned early in my driving days to avoid roads with the word "river" in the name during heavy rain storms.

Fortunately, I live on high ground. No flooding in my immediate vicinity

Another vote for Le Petit Chef @Sea Dog, Greg.   I think you would enjoy the show as each meal is prepared and served.

Thanks Mimi!  We cruise the 2nd.  I am actually renting an electronic wheelchair called Whills.  It is one that @brillohead Debbi recommended.   I am looking forward to using it.

Speaking of electronic wheelchairs, my new electronic wheelchair was delivered to the house today!  I love it! It can do a 360⁰ tight turn.  It is narrow and gets around the house easy!  I was able to ride it down to the garden.  I took it out front to the street and it was so fast my hair blew back some.  They say the battery last for about 14 miles.  It also let's you raise the chair up to 12 inches, an option called iLevel.  I felt like it was higher.  I will be able to talk eye to eye with people.

That’s a beauty! At one time I would have said it’s the Cadillac of wheelchairs.
I think it’s the Rolls Royce of wheelchairs!

Does it have a cup holder? That’s important!

Good evening it is 19.40pm here in England.

I hope everyone is safe and well and having a great day.

It has been sunny all day here and 65°F.

We went to the beach for several hours today and had a picnic and ice cream.
