Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

We cut the cord as they say a few months ago.  So far it’s going well.  We can’t watch much live TV but didn’t anyway.  Somehow we have a news channel or 2.  Our bill was getting crazy.  The buffering at times is annoying.  I’m a little anxious about storm season here and how we’ll know  how storms are moving which is important in our area.  In the past few years we’ve had at least 2 property damaging tornados within 2-4 miles of us. But we are saving a good chuck of money over dropping cable.

What???? Mah Jongg was cancelled??????

I never went to a cruise happy hour but aren't the tables first come first served no matter the status once you're allowed in the lounge?  Continue to have a yummy, wonderful cruise.

@Arzeena your pictures are gorgeous!  Continue to enjoy as well!

Yesterdays game and tonight’s game were cancelled. Two different groups of players .Our snowbird friends were able to get here late in the afternoon.

They cruise often from both NY and Fla.I may have convinced the wife of the couple to sign up for CC.

Had a nice lunch in Izumi, wife is going for her massage in a few minutes, then happy hour, followed by ice show followed by chops . Still debating on booking this same cruise in an owners suite or MSc yacht club for next year . Need to do something to celebrate my 75th. On bad thing about grande suite s getting in and out f shower , owners suite has separate shower . WiFi is included in grand suite and above and is working great so far.

I am not that much of a bourbon drinker, did have a couple old fashions with buffalo trace , did see your favorite rum in the casino bar this morning. We get 5 free drinks because of diamond plus and 40 percent off wines under a hundred so have had some nice win with our meals , berriger nights valley, duckhorn Cabernet and merlot . Brought on a bottle of silver oak Cabernet.

So....holiday miracle story time. We knew in the back of our minds that someday our kitty Maxx would figure out the dog door in the slider to the back yard of the rental house we're in while our house is being rebuilt, but we have to have it so our dog Stevie can come and go outside.  On October 5th, Maxx finally figured it out and went missing.

I posted in the FB neighborhood page, had a few "I think we saw a black and white cat" responses, spent days/weeks looking, but nothing.  I guess you never really give up hope, but we gave up hope.

Last night, Andi and I were sitting at the dinner table and heard some meowing.  Not super unusual, since there are a few feral cats around the neighborhood.  Andi went to the back door and sitting at the dog door meowing was Maxx.  Seven weeks later.

He came inside and immediately knew he was home.  No running or hiding.  We put out some water and some of his cat food we had kept in the garage and he wolfed it down like Joey Chestnut at the Nathan's hot dog eating contest.  Tears of joy flowed.  He (and we) barely slept last night but kept going between Andi and me for snuggles and petting pretty much all night long.

He is noticeably skinnier, but no other physical signs of wear and tear.  We sure missed him while he was gone.  Blessed.

Wow talk about stressful. I am so happy you had a happy ending. Same thing happened to us with our cat Sam when we were living in a temporary apartment while our house was being built. Some how Sam  got out . We spent days looking for him. He was an indoor cat so I knew the outside was not a good or even familiar place for him. 3 days later we were sitting in the living room at night watching some tv. He started to here some meowing and looked outside by the patio door and there he was. I don’t know how he remembered what apartment we were in as they look alike but we’re so happy. I’m glad it was a happy ending for you too.

That’s a great holiday miracle story Larry! Happy for you, Andi and Maxx.  He looks like he’s just as happy to be home as you are to have him there.

We’ve spent the past two days and overnight last night up in New Hampshire doing some tax free Christmas shopping.  We found a great new outdoor shopping area called Tuscan Village in Salem NH, which includes a brand new Marriott Bonvoy hotel. It’s also next to nice, large mall and about 20-30 minutes from an outlet center.  I’m happy to say we’re about 75% done with our gift buying.  The tax savings was definitely offset by the hotel stay and dinner last night, but it was a nice little getaway.
I’ve been following the cable tv/YouTube tv discussion closely.  Andy’s going to sit down and do a price comparison because we’re fed up with our provider, Cox Communications.  Rates increase every year and although Andy’s usually able to negotiate them down a little, it’s getting old year after year.
My question for the tech experts (actually it’s Andy’s question) is, we would probably need to update/upgrade our router. Does this mean every single device - phones, computers, automatic thermostats, outdoor cameras, etc will need to be reset?

I'm so glad Maxx came home, safe & sound. ☺️

I did a dumb thing this week. We are trying to fix up the front yard in anticipation of selling the house. We went to the plant nursery and picked up 3 Indian Hawthorne plants. I figured they were hardy, since you see them in parking lots all the time. Bill asked if they are deer resistant. I said, I think so.

We haven't planted them yet, but I guess they will have to go in the backyard. I finally looked them up today. Not ONLY are they not deer resistant, but they are also on the deer's FAVORITE FOODS list. 🙄

This is amazing news. So thankful he returned home.

I do have a suggestion, get a deworming treatment for your cat. After being on the prowl for so long you have no idea of what he was eating. When Lucy returned after being away for almost 3 weeks, a few years ago, she had them.  After a phone call with our vet it was their immediate suggestion.

Would you consider getting him chipped just in case he goes missing again?  He might never leave your side again, but you never know.

Give Maxx a rub for me.

So happy he found his way home. I would say buckets of tears of joy were flowing.

He is beautiful.

I wonder if he will ever go out that door again.

With a new router you will need to set it up by creating a password. It can be your same old password but you will need to re connect every device to that new router that uses wi-fi since that new router will have a different IP address. Pretty simple to do
