Sometimes plus shady side of top deck. Usually by myself as Gary's prefers the gym or cool of the VC lounge. Popped into the DL a few times in the early evening  but usually end up in the main part of VC lounge . Here's an up to date pic of us.

Had great day in Curaçao today. Swam with wild turtles and tropical fish. Currently enjoying cocktails in town

Would love to meet up but I only have WiFi on land

Looking great!   Sounds like a really fun day.

Tomorrow we are heading to a beach in Bonaire. Sure has been hot this cruise.  Couldn't believe Aruba was a feel like of 108.

I will check out VC and upper deck for you.  Hope to meet on our sea days.

Poor Bobby is gone. In addition to his out-of-control hyperthyroidism, his last labs showed very poor heart and liver function. And then this past week, he developed ascites, with fluid building up and distending his abdomen. We were able to get him into the vet this morning. Poor baby, he was in pain, and we agreed to have him euthanized. He was the last of my mom's cats. It is for the best, but always so sad.

So sorry Bobby is gone. It's never easy.

I've been meaning to post pics of the shower remodel.  Several guys came in and tore out a wall, the bathtub/shower and moved water pipes and a/c vents.

We then hired a tile company.

The guys also replaced our original bathroom door with a barn door.

The other side of the room had double sinks.

We removed them to add room to move around.  Sharon decorated the walls this week.

And here is a pic of my 1st shower taken in the new shower!

Bathroom looks great.

I haven't posted a picture of Lenoard in awhile. I'm not sure what's going on here, either striking a pose for the cover of Cat Vogue or maybe his profile picture for Cat Tinder?

Love his bushy tail.

I think we're getting acclimatised, enjoying the shady pary of the top deck with cooling breezes.  The humidity is very high, apparently September is the hottest month in this part of the world

Glad you are getting used to the heat.  Keeping your fluids up? 🍹

We sail on the 29th.
There’s a new tropical depression forming that will probably be going up the coast when we do.
After all these years waiting, we may not get to Bermuda!

Oh no!

I hope it all works out and you get to see Bermuda.

When I saw the Mariner docked next to us I thought about you. You had mentioned Mariner and Bermuda.I would have loved to meet you even for a brief hello.

We all love you here! ❣️

And always look forward to hearing from you. And you do have my email in case you want to write out thoughts sometimes.

I mentioned we went to the WaterFire festival last night.  It originated in Providence, RI, and they have a license to put it on here in PA.

Waterfire’s theme was “Come Sail Away With Us”

The Indian sailed up and down the river to give it a blessing.

After lightning the main fire on one of the bridges, they started lighting the braziers.

Not sure what the use, but they caught fire quickly

Torches lined the bridges

The main fire on one of the bridges was roaring

And, the river had nice reflections from the fires

Yes, there was smoke on the water.  And more than one kind in the air.

I have done the Providence event and it is a really cool thing to see!

I know it's September 18th and I know I am crazy to some extent but I am getting out and starting to put up Christmas decorations. We leave for our October cruise in a month and then I have a week back before knee replacement. I am slowly getting the stuff out to take it easy on my knee. It will probably take 3 weeks to get everything up. Don't worry I will not turn on any lights till after Halloween. You may ask why don't you get help from Linda and Jonathan. Linda will help decorate but I have a method to my madness in how I pack everything, store and my procedures on how to get stuff down. It would take longer to explain it than just by doing it myself. Needless to say I am very careful and I only do about 20-30 minutes at a time to not put too much stress on the knee. I am not putting up the animated trees outside this year as it would take too long and is a hassle to put up even with two good knees. At least I will have some comfort in laying on the couch a lot after surgery, I can hear Burl Ives now "🎶 It's beginning to look like Christmas....🎶"

Patti, @Coralc

The neighboring cat came to visit... After seeing Bobby's pic, I think they're related.

Today we started touring a bit of Amsterdam, using the very efficient public transport.

On our way to the Hermitage museum (big disappointment -- the nice collection of impressionist paintings is no longer there), we came upon a memorial of all the Dutch Jews who perished in the Holocaust. The huge number of names was dauting, and DH had tears in his eyes.... Seeing so many names of babies .aged 2-3 months was heartbreaking.

We looked for Anna Frank's name. The guide mentioned that her real name was Annelies. She died aged 15.
