Your Romanian is top notch 😍

Do you know of any local treats that Mike can get in Barcelona? He is flying there tonight on the “inaugural” flight. It’s the first flight there since the pandemic started. He doesn’t know yet if they will be allowed to go out and about or only the hotel and airport.

My JC @xpcdoojk inspired SousVide Ribs.  Hoping to do the finished product tonight on BGE.

It’s tangy and tasty. We apply it at the end while browning the ribs. We usually add a few layers over a few flips.

Looks good. I’ll let you know mine if it’s any good. I don’t normally add BBQ during a Cook but since these are SousVide and not low and slow smoked, I might try some. Typically good Q doesn’t require sauce on the meat while cooking. It’s the smoke and the fat in the meat that breaks down that gives it, its flavor. Rapid cooks on high heat requires sauce. I did use some Liquid Hickory Smoke in the SousVide preparation.

I’m surprised so many missed his initial comment. 🚌

I missed it. Went over my head. I just figured he would know better that they are not allowed in our gated community. Owners may to load them but for only one night. Although we own property (land) in here we are building on, we are renting and it would not be allowed here. We barely have enough room for both our cars.

I imagine the question about the treats is intended to Graham @grapau27.

My former FA son, who is constantly in touch with his colleagues who are still flying, told me that the crews are taken by bus to a hotel and not allowed to leave the room until they fly back... Food is left at the door....

A whole new "lay over experience"... and not a fun one at that 😢

We are sitting at vaccine center doing our 15 min wait after just getting our 2nd shot of pfizer.  The first shot felt nothing, this one hurt going in.  She really jabbed hard.  Fingers crossed no side effects.

I read that if they don’t inject the shot slowly that it will hurt. I have no idea if this is true or not, but I asked the nurse if she was going to do it slowly. She said always. I didn’t have any pain in my arm at all and I don’t know if it’s related. I do have a little pain after the flu shots.

I see CC took out my word associated with a pin stab.  Sorry if anyone was offended. That was never my intention or thought.

Since I’m still trying to catch up I missed what it was. Whatever it was I’m sure I wouldn’t be offended.

There are lots of confectionery, alcohol, perfumes and after shaves in the airport terminal.

Barcelona centre LAS Ramblas is only a 25 minute taxi fare 30 Euros from the airport.

Tomorrow Sunday probably only touristy shops open.

A curfew from 10pm-6am

Bars and restaurants only open 7.30am-5pm.

There will be a 6 hour time difference.

Hope Mike has a safe flight.

Graham.

How can restaurants serve dinner?  Dinner service, IIRC , starts about 9PM.

It was way too late for us.

We apply the sauce at the end of the cook.  We apply and let it caramelize during two minutes intervals then flip, for the final 6-8 minutes.

I love the alcoves you have for your soaps and shampoo.  I have a big walk-in shower but we did not think to do that and so the soaps go on the floor.  A nuisance.

So the curfew (about midnight to 6 am I think) ended last night.  We went out for a meal and stayed out at the casino.  Lots of rules about which way to walk and we had to wear masks inside.  I was told off for not having my mask on but I was drinking the gin I had just bought.  Not sure how it tastes through a mask.

Hooray I won for a change.  I took £30 and came away with £180 from the slots.  Ended up discussing with youngest daughter how I am going to spend it!  ‘We’re in the money’ is the song of the day.

Ok. SousVide ribs done and ate. Verdict. They were nice and tender. Making homemade BBQ sauce was a PIA. Actually good. The boss didn’t complain but just didn’t WOW us.  I’m sorry, just can’t beat a good Southern Low and Slow  cook. It was worth trying them once.

Thanks JC for the inspiration. Just not a fan of cooking with sauce on my meat. 🤔😁

Chag Sameach @dani negreanu and everyone else!

We had a beautiful sunny day in the low 70s and I spent most outside cleaning up flower beds, patio furniture, roto-tilled garden, put snowblower away...YAY!!!   I didnt think I had that much gas in it but it took over an hour to run it out.

Nice bbq burgers with tater tots for dinner.

Catching up on thread now.

If you find the right sauce it can be worth it to make it. We usually stick with Sweet Baby Ray's honey chipotle. And it goes on toward the end of the cook so it will get sticky and not burn.

We're having ribs tonight. They take about an hour on the BBQ. We have a Weber Genesis. And we use Chaka MMM sauce on ribs and some other meats. https://chakasmmm.com/ Very tasty, and no sugars or oils so it doesn't caramelize and doesn't burn on the meat. :classic_biggrin: Tater tots on the side and DH is having potato salad.  :classic_biggrin:
