Same here, my graduations were high school and college.

My daughter had a graduation event after 5th grade but only a 'Stepping Up" ceremony at the end of Middle School. Nothing special and very disappointing so all of the parents got together and hosted a wonderful graduation party at a teen nightclub.  They danced, filled up on soda, punch, cake, junk food, and sang "That's what friends are for" hugging each other in a circle, girls crying.  Their baby and growing up pictures were flashed on a huge tv screen.  Priceless.

And to think they were only 13-14 and were together again in High School.

50°F cold and rainy this morning.

I have taken Pauline and her best friend to a retail outlet and left them there to catch up and buy things.

I went to the bank and now I am sitting overlooking the sea ringing customers to arrange calls for Monday.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

Graham.

I had to consult my English-to-Generation Z translator to find out what "drippy" meant. Two very different definitions popped.

1) Weak & Stupid

2)  Stylin, cool, sexy.

I'm sure he meant #2 😉

As for 24 Carrot (or as we say in the states 24-Karat), that means your "golden". That's so Baby Boomer! 😄

I didn't understand either one.

That’s the Canadian way. Just doing you a favour. 😉

Reminds me of the irritating way some folks say "I could care less", when in actuality it should be "I couldn't care less".

So to me if someone says "I could care less"....at least I know they care a little bit anyway. 🤭

I know...who cares right?   Or...you couldn't care less.  😄

Never heard of that one...but seems so many new slang words coming out the last few years.  Covid lockdown boredom?

To me "drippy" would be what I describe my nose when I have a cold.  😄

High school, Grade 9, in September.  Until then, hopefully a summer with some sports and some jobs around the farm. He has some formalities at school on Monday for half an hour but that’s it.

Tell him to have a great summer from the ole Sea Dog!

Ahh...even better!  Very familiar with that coming from Florida as home state.  😉   Right now we call the weather there "instant sweat".  😄

Congratulations!    Wow look at those awards/certificates!     Great Kid and Very Proud Parents and Grandparents.

Love all the photos.    One photo I think he is a spitting image of you but then another photo I see a lot of Lisa in him; however, he doesn't have any resemblance to Lucy.

He probably sleeps a lot!

When we were kids we use to refer to someone that was unattractive, ugly or just plain homely as "drippy". I still do today.

LOL....Bucky used to call them a "drip".   I still did not hear that one until now, must be from growing up in Michigan.  😄

Did call them "double baggers" though.  🤭  I know...so mean.  🤐

Nice office Graham,  even in the rain.  You are lucky to live so close to the sea, it takes us about one and half hour to get to south coast

I love how "dope" can mean cool or awesome. Katy Perry on American Idol used that word often in that context. I guess they're running out of new words to create so they're recycling old ones.

Curious as how is your education system ...

Here we have:

Six years elementary school (starting at 6 years age).

Then 3 years of mid-high school.

Finishing at 18 years with another 3 years of high school. Total -- 12 years.

If you're exempt of compulsory army service (3 years for boys and 2 years for girls), you go to the College/University at 18.
