There was an earlier report on the CDC website from Wednesday that originally had the days at 120 not 100.  I believe that the information was already public knowledge when the markets were open and the stock price would already reflect it.  Let’s face it, this just makes official what most people were expecting.  I can’t see anyone really thinking that they were going to resume cruising as normal in May.

Good for you, but that is the direction Royal is going.

 

Curious why you don't like them. Bad experience?

 

Unfortunately base on historical trends, it's the boutique lines that will likely restructure or fold once this sorts out

BTW, I experienced zero nickle and diming on my Allure crossing. Pretty much all we paid for was casino withdrawals

I look forward to the day when a waiter from Chops comes by, while I'm eating breakfast, and asks if I would like to dine there that night. Although I'll say probably not, I'll be on a cruise! Oh, and how good are those mimosas going to be in the casino as I enjoy my free (almost because of casino perk) cruise!! And yes, I see the effect this virus is doing to the infected.....14 hours a day I see it. So if it's okay for those that don't want to cruise or don't want the FCC, I'll hold on to that daily dream as I go about my business......

Doubtful.  The entire industry got whacked pretty hard to the same degree.  No company is really in a position to buy any other.  Instead, they'll be focused on their own operations and not really looking into acquiring new problems.

 

We're seeing this in other industries, too.  Companies that are in prime positions to be acquired aren't because the ones who would be the "buyers" are in their own turmoil.

About the only things cruiseline-related that are smaller than the Sovereign are the lifeboats on current ships.

 

Maybe a Boston Whaler is more your taste?

We would only sail on the Oasis class if we didn’t have to fly to get to them.  The smallest ship we have sailed on was Celebrity Summit, which was nice for a change of pace.  However, even though we are old, we still love the big girls❤️

Oasis is supposed to be sailing out of NJ this summer.   But who knows.
