Hello to all My fellow Carnival Cruisers. By now many of us have a certain non-serious "illness" that is best described as CruiseAholicism". We are missing our favorite ships, ship ports and cities, our hotel stays if the night before, our favorite UBER drivers, our daily drink specials, daily food consumption, entertainment and our Carnival friends. I think that we should all call the Carnival Beards (as Mr. Heald calls them) and see if the CDC would allow a "Cruise Blues Vaccine" to be approved so that we all can survive this mandatory shut down?

On the serious note, how are you guys handling the stoppage? For me I refuse to get discouraged and will remain a Carnival Fan until the end. How are you remaining sane?

I like to watch you tube, and cruisers vlogs, their Carnival cruise, I have even seen one that

I was on that cruise. The Breeze last March 7th.

Looking forward to our B2B in August this is from three prior cancellations. If it gets cancelled will rebook and begin the countdown again. I also have watched lots of cruise vlogs.

You have the true Carnival loyalty. Keep the faith and we will cruise again. I applaud you!!!

I went back to school. I figured if I can't go on vacation (or go to movies, or restaurants, or museums, or amusement parks...or pretty much anywhere fun), I might as well work on my Masters degree.

Excellent. Coming from a line and legacy of family educators I applaud your educational excellence. Praying for you to complete the journey.

After 4 cancelled Carnival cruises and 4 cancelled Holland America cruises, DH and I have booked 4 cruises - 11-day Holland America in Dec. '21, 7-days in Feb. and April '22, and a 7-day Carnival in Jan. '22. Hope they all sail! In the meantime, we took a month's vacation last Fall "up north", we're going to Biloxi MS for 6 days of gambling this weekend (casinos and hotels have very serious Covid protocols), and taking our annual month-long lake cabin vacation "up north" this Fall. We are retired, got both our vaccination shots, still wearing our masks and social distancing, doing a lot of take-out, and reading lots of novels. The boredom gets to us every once in awhile, but we will persevere and hope we get to sail in Dec.

Great commentary and sage advice for us all. My motto is "Slow Down of Life Will Do It For You". Enjoy and safe travels.

First of all, your statement makes an assumption that I WAS sane before this nonsense!😀 As a lifelong Giants fan I've never been accused of sanity.

However, we've had five cruises cancelled so far but have five booked in 2021 and 2022. Hoping that our Oct.31 fourteen day cruise gets to go even though the CDC has stated no cruise longer than seven days can sail until Nov.1. We wrote to Carnival and asked if passengers could board the Pride Oct. 31, have a swinging Halloween party-----but don't allow the ship to sail till after midnight, making it Nov.1 and satisfying the CDC "edict"!

I applaud that persistence. You never missed a beat.  We are all a bit "looney" at this time.

I really am struggling with it. Having a cruise scheduled in January helps. I just try to not think about it not happening. Going to download that cruise ship simulator right now.

It's a really tough time. We are all so spoiled by our chosen method of vacationing. We haven't taken a land vacation since we started cruising many years ago. Some of my relatives are even "losing" their minds these days. Some are even trying to get employed by Carnival (I tell them to just buy a lottery ticket and their chances might be better). As the designated "soother" of my family group I just always say "Keep The Faith and We Will Cruise again".

I'm starting to think my cruise today may not go 😄. All kidding aside, it is what is, we'll try again next year. In the mean time, my wife and I decided to checkout a cruise video on YouTube and have a couple of fun ships to get some sense of cruising lol.

We normally cruise 3 to 4 times a year.  It is our getaway from life (work, cell phones, electronics, aging parents).  I truly miss it.  I really took for granted the calmness that a weeks cruise brought me....and it kept me going until the next one about 3 months later.  I haven't had a vacation in a year.  Haven't been able to "score" the vaccination.  So it seems like I am "stuck" on a hamster wheel of doing basically nothing but work.  So the only boat I personally am on is the struggle boat.  😞

I believe that we all can relate to your outcry. Hang in there and our "fix" will hopefully soon arrive.

CruiseAholicism?????  That is about right.  They canceled cruise after cruise because of covid and it was sad.

We are suffering from a serious case of CruiseAholicism arpund here.  Several times since March I have had strange cruise dreams,  like walking across a lido deck with 2 inches of water covering it, searching for my cabin.  Weird!

We had a august 2021 Alaska cruise set for the extended family and then we got that notification that it was cancelled.  The ladies sat and looked so distraught and there was no joy in Mudville.  What I did was start talking about the end of the shut down.  "Carnival WILL weigh anchor" I declared, " Covid will be defeated". I suggested to plan a cruise for end of year.  I have back to back in November but we are adding  a Christmas cruise or new year.  So planning kicked in and there were smiles.

I look forward to hearing those words that everyone with CruiseAholicism love to hear  "Welcome aboard!"

I run my own cruise line, so I'm having no problem staying sane until Carnival can start cruising again.  My cruise line isn't quite as extensive as Carnivals though, in that I only have one ship at the moment (my CEO forced me to downsize from 3 ships last year).

My ship is just a tad smaller than any in the Carnival feet, measuring in at 21 feet.  Also, she doesn't hold quite as many passengers and crew either as she's limited to the Captain and 5 passengers.

My ship IS faster than any in the Carnival fleet, topping out at around 40 knots.  (One of the ships the CEO made me sell topped out at around 60 knots, the CEO never did understand why anyone would want to go that fast on the water).

But anyway, running my own Cruise Line is doing a great job of keeping me sane until Carnival can get back to cruising.  I've now got three future cruises booked (Dec. 2021, June 2022, and Sept. 2022) and am toying with the idea of doing one next spring as well.  From what I'm seeing it looks like I'm not the only one that's going to get back into cruising with a bang.
