Yea, we can hit the suite lounge and get funny looks from the pins because we have a granddaughter with us.  Many seem to think only adults should be allowed in the suite lounge.  The best part is if you are in a suite you can use the lounge.

Why would anyone give you funny looks.  The suite lounge is filled with kids, especially on Oasis class ships.

In fact - folks have come to expect children in the suite lounge, but they still can't accept kids in the D lounge. Don't know why.

Ya think? Many said they went there for the  friendship - not the  free drinks and snacks!  We'll soon see who was telling the truth.

Like Minded People.

Didn't you and I hang out in casino bar. 😇

Good Times

Well I'm telling the truth...I go for one Lemon Drop....maybe a Coca Cola and the snacks.

Not looking for friends...we're low key and like to keep to ourselves...always wish they had more two/tops in the lounge.

Wonder what “modified lunch” means.

It's not modified...it is "reimagined" LOL. :classic_biggrin::classic_biggrin:

And we don't really care. We buy the drink packages and rarely visit the lounges. It is nice to have the water bottles in the room when we arrive. I think there was something about them being removed in Singapore.

I guess we will find out from others this weekend. :classic_biggrin:

Being able to get 4-6 drinks of what you want, when you want, is an absolutely amazing perk to me. I have little interest in rather "maximizing" the lounge happy hour. To wade through the crowds, each night, to suck down as much as you can, with a limited menu, isn't what I'm looking for.

Royal really should offer discounts on the drink package to these people too. Most sane people are not going to buy a (full-priced) package if they already get so many drinks. Since the other half doesn't drink, that would be a minimum of 8 drinks for me each day without a package. Even then, I'm already good. I would laugh at the idea of buying it.

They do offer a discounted drinks package, well they did before ~Covid.  40% for Pins and 30% for D+ I believe..

Unless the rules have changed in the last couple of years, I was able to bring my grandchildren to the Oasis & Allure DL.  Also, saw children on Quantum DL on my last sail in August '19.

I think cruise girl was saying that members can’t accept the fact that kids are in the DL, not that Royal doesn’t allow them.

No need for actual cash transactions with vouchers in play.

I can't wait until first person gets denied a drink for being out of vouchers🤣🤣

Wasn’t thinking of cash, but someone will need to swipe seapass to deduct a voucher for each drink.  Do servers do it or do they need to go backstage and have it done?

Maybe they will have portable scanners.

It never really worked since onboard pricing was so much more than the Cruise Planner sales prices

No idea on the technology of Square.

I'd imagine it's done at the bar

Will a mandatory tip be included when a drink is bought with a credit?  Usually in the lounges most people tip the server when they receive their complimentary drink. Will that be the same and, if not, will the tip be covered by the guest or Royal?  I, personally, would like to know that the crew serving 'complimentary' drinks are receiving remuneration.

This is a very good point.  Bartenders will be making less money with this change.

What I will miss about the SL is a quiet place to hang out on sea days - and the lattes!  The Quantum class SL on deck 12 is especially lovely.  The 12 drinks for DH and me plus prime status in casino is more than enough.  My drinks are mostly Coke but I hate to pay around $4 for a can of Coke.  What will be will be — Royal will decide.  Katherine
