Not really, became Platinum in January of 2009 when I had my official 10th cruise.

And those who buy FTTF for 129.00?  That's enough to cover gratuities and dinner at Jiji's and Cucina.

LOL.  Thanks for making my point... You "earned" platinum by paying Carnival $20 - $30k.

I am not against this at all. This is a good path forward. It makes sense to have VIFP at 16 days before, then FTTF 15 days before, and then open the flood gates for everyone else 14 days before. This is a VERY simple IT change for cruising to start. This gives the opportunity for VIFP members to select their times first. They have that 24-hour window to get what they want. If they don't do it in that time frame, then they have to deal with the hoards. At the 15 day mark, FTTF group is open to select their times and those in the VIFP levels can still do it. At the 14 day mark, the entire cruise has access and what ever you get, you get.

I would be happy with that. Our cruise is July 29, we have FTTF, and check in is shown as July 15. If they moved that to the 14th so we could pick a time a day earlier than the general public, and still keep the rest of the FTTF benefits, I would be fine with keeping it and not having it refunded.

I can certainly live with that as well.

I'm still not sure why they can't let priority and FTTF passengers do their online check in one day before the rest of the passengers.  That way the priority people would be able to choose earlier appointment times since that benefit is temporarily being taken away.

I would "guess" with the new protocols to come that you will be assigned a check-in, boarding time and move right onto the ship. I don't believe there will be any congregating inside the terminals due to social distancing but then again, I am in the "I'm so confused" world with the rest of cruise passengers!  Wait and see is all we can do.

20-30 K?  LOL

10 inside cabins between 1993 and 2009 is way under 10 K.

I remember the buzz the year the policy was changing and I only had like five Carnival cruises logged. I wish I had been able to take the time off to get five more short cheap cruises in that year like several people I know did. I have always wondered if Carnival might relax the requirements once the Diamond and Platinum cruiser numbers normalize from attrition.

We have 4 cabins, two of which are platinum, one is FTTF, and the other is regular.  The tricky part is we are all coming by the same vehicles to a parking lot and then being shuttled over to the port.  I'm not sure what that does to the cabin that is NOT Platinum or FTTF.  Where do THEY wait?    If they were all open at the same time, they may have been able to get a decent time frame

I would do it like I said before. VIFP gets to choose their time at 16 days prior. FTTF gets to choose their time 15 days prior. Everyone is open for a free for all at 14 days prior. It is not the best planning to assume someone in the late boarding group would be able to get the benefit of the others.

In your case, you have to go to the worst common denominator or board at different times. Since the 4th in your groups is part of the free for all, the VIFP members and FTTF members can choose say a 2PM boarding time in hopes the last group can get that time as well. Otherwise, everyone pick their earliest boarding time and meet on the ship. The 4th group can play chauffeur. Drop the VIFP group off at their time slot, drive around a bit then drop the FTTF group off. When it is their turn, they can park the vehicle and take the shuttle over.

I would fight for that silver card at check in because precovid that is what you would have received.

He or She may receive their silver Platinum card at their room at check in. If not yes go ask for it. Have your cruise history printed out just in case showing you now rate Platinum.  I know i was top of the World on the cruise i got mine. 2 for 1 in the casino on slot terminate buy in.

Even the booking summary I have after they removed the word priority still shows that I am platinum where it has our guest names.  But my check in time of August 7th for my Mardi Gras cruise on the 21st never changed.  It's possible they are only doing it for the people who reached priority before this cruise.

We are staying at a hotel the night before our cruise and hopefully will be able to make some type of arrangements for a late check out, depending on how late my appointment time will be.  Getting priority boarding (or being able to choose an early appointment time) was what I was looking forward to the most, but it might not happen on this cruise.  My only concern is what to do after check out, but before my appointment time while carrying luggage.

I would think you could still drop off checked luggage anytime.

Yeah, the porters don't have any idea, nor any care, as to when your check in time might be.

If you have a lot of spare time and are parking, you can always go park and snooze in your vehicle, I suppose.  OTOH, if you are getting dropped off by the hotel shuttle, then idle time is indeed a weird purgatory.  Maybe find the hotel bar before you leave the premises and have a brunch-like snack/drink?

We will be taking an uber or shuttle from the hotel to the port, so it will be all in the timing.  Usually, we were able to get FTTF, time it right, or just go to the early/late line. If the cruise is 95% vaccinated, then they might have similar boarding procedures as pre-pandemic since vaccinated people can be near each other.  If not, then I am sure they will need to do some major staggering and possibly the ship might even have to leave a lot later.  It's possible check in times might stretch all afternoon.  I hope I don't have to pay an extra half day for a hotel.

One of the posters is able to check in after midnight tonight, so hopefully they will come back and let us know what options they had.

So my check in for my Sept 12th cruise also changed by 2 days. Now able to check in 16 days out instead of 14. A benefit i can temporally live with. Still looking forward to info on those checking in on first batch of cruises.

My Sept. 12 cruise check-in also changed from Aug. 29 to Aug. 27.  I'm Platinum and I hold my head high normally walking past the FTTF... might have to just adorn myself with a crown this time...  😁 🏴‍☠️

Nope.  There can be only one.

Can't tell if you're confused about what phoneman meant or being funny... look at the benefit I circled in fancy gradient red (bottom of screengrab), in case it's helpful...

I went to Check In at 12:01; a few min ago. First, the site locked me out “Access Denied,” happens sometimes. So, shut down iPad and restarted and got in. Most of the Check In is the same, as it used to be, for info about guests, parking, Sail and Sail account set up. The check in times available for me were 1030-1100; 1100-1130; ... continuing up to last one1:30 pm - 2:00 pm. This is same as previously offered. Two new elements: A document for acceptance: Covid 19 Risk Acceptance and Use of Smile and Go Technology as Part of Your Cruise Experience. This last item is used “to board effortlessly,” “Take temp daily,” “Access Sign and Sail””check on child in programs” and “Find photos in Pixels”. Seems the Contract to Sail is longer, too. Questions?

For one of our group cruises, I booked myself in one cabin and my DH in another, so both cabins could get the priority check-in, etc.

The Smile & Go technology piece seems new. I'll have to research exactly what that is. Not surprised by the Covid 19 Risk Acceptance, I'm sure the lawyers insisted on that.
