Last Thanksgiving, I was in Las Vegas and all of the casinos on the strip were non-smoking under COVID rules, it was glorious!

Pretty sure I saw where a second, smoke free casino is being opened on a few of the Carnival ships.

This is correct.  You can confirm this by playing a table game and asking the pit boss.  Also, if you watch closely, when you first sit down and give the dealer your room key and chip request, he/she slides your room key in the little machine to his/her right, then punches in your seat number and amount of $ you are gambling.  He/she also waits until you put your first bet up to type in the $ they will use as the "average bet."  Then they reswipe your card (I think).  Try not placing a bet on the table and they'll ask you to, then key in the $ you bet.  The machine does the rest.  This is why they put your seat on pause when you go pee.  They don't want to give you credit for gambling time when you're not actually gambling.  If you think about it, it's not how much money you lose that determines your free/discounted room offer, DOU, etc.  It's just how much money you risk over the entire time you gambled.

Correct, it's what you put at risk.

 

Want a good deal in Las Vegas? Wire $100K to the cage.

I spend 4-5 hours a day in the casino and play $500-$1,00 per day.  Some of that is offset by winnings so not all is out of pocket.  I get a lot of casino offers, much more than I could ever use.  I have not.paid full rates in several years and now that I’m retired I plan to take advantage of the freebie cruises 2-3 times per year.  I know my play is more than the average person, but I’m an experienced player so I do have many winning sessions.  Over the years, I have learned to be disciplined in my play because there is a tendency to give your winnings right back to the casino - I mean where else is there to go, right?  So I tend to play more in the last day or two to try to hold on to some of my winnings.

I just retired and that is kind of in my plans for now.

Not going to call it a trick or anything, but set aside like $100 per day and find an inexpensive slot machine that's kind of fun and just burn an hour.

 

Not be in the casino an hour, but be actual playtime at least an hour, then watch your offers rise.

As others have mentioned I have no idea how much I actually spent as I won, I lost, I won, etc.

 

I have been getting awesome offers including free balconies, free drinks everywhere.

 

Not like I can use them since according to CDC I'm not vaccinated.. (sorry had to be a brat there).

There's no simple answer.  Casino hosts have told me you are rated more on time spent in the casino vs. the amt. you spend.  I've won. I've lost.  Every cruise was different.

I haven't paid for a Carnival cruise, other than port charges and taxes for the last few years so however they are figuring it out is fine by me.

Don't gamble HUGE amounts but just before the COVID I won some money at the beginning of the cruise and then spent it throughout the week.   Carnival thinks I'm a big gambler now, and coming out of COVID, I had three offers with 4 redemption on each offer.   It means we had 12 "free" cruises  (aside from taxes, port fees, insurance and gratuities).  These Premium Offers were too good to turn down, so we now have six cruises coming up.   I was shocked however, about how much people spend.   On that same cruise a year and a half ago, some lady told me she was down $3000, - and we'd only been cruising for two hours.  I'll never be in that league.

"The Gold" is my machine play it every night for an hour or so and seem  to break even atleast.. 

 

Once you get the offers book as many as you can at that time and you can gamble with Funplay for the most part.

I set up a LOC one time prior to a trip to Aria. I gave them some checking acct info, and was approved for something like 1/3 my average daily balance, or it might have been triple instead of 1/3!! Either way, I had to be cautious not to let that change the way I played - as it's possible to cross that line, especially if it's as easy as signing your name...

Those are total time killers. You never win squat, but you play for a long time. I call that style, that look, the "Chinese games" because that's what they are. They're some Chinese manufacturer.

Lots of bells and flashing, but very often, but very low payouts

I was playing at the Beau Rivage once a good 15 years ago. The fellow next to me was playing $1,000-$2,500/hand and took out a marker for another $50k. I was a minnow comparatively, and I tired to make some small talk about us both losing the last shoe - he was not a happy fellow, if he grunted that would have been SOME reply, but not even that. I sensed an eye roll or such. I shut up and (soon thereafter) left.  There comes a time when it's not "fun"!

That's my problem.  I want to get good offers but can't tolerate more than a few minutes in there.

As for the amount you need to gamble, my nanny gets the "not as good" offers and she only spent like $100 on one cruise. Our office manager at my husband's practice gets the really good offers (balcony for $100, drinks on us, and credit in the casino) but she spends like $500+ a cruise and (before the shut down) would cruise about once every 3-6 months.

Idk like I said I atleast break even on them. I also only hit the maxbet button on it the whole time so the payouts are alot larger when it does hit. I usually dont win much on any other slots.
