Is it easy to break large bills into smaller denominations while onboard?  We'll probably use almost all of our small denominations pre-cruise.  Can we do this in the casino or guest services as needed?

Thanks

XRAY

Why  not stop at your bank and get large bills broken before you go. That's what I do and I've brought quite a bit of cash at times.

I've told the casino nothing bigger than a $20. I want small bills and take care of it before I go.

Yes, I'd say that's the best idea.  It's always smart to have smaller bills for your island stops -- for drinks, tips, etc.  All too many vendors /tour guides say they can't make change.  If you have small bills, you're in charge of what you spend.

I avoid banks, well, like the plague.....................

I saw a cash machine last week on the Enchantment, so ask if there's one when you sail.

Cashier will break the bill, but will want to give large denominations to you, BUT they prefer to work with a cashed out ticket from a machine, so yes, put it in the machine and cash it out.

Guest Services will, but I've never been on a cruise where they weren't completely slammed for the first few days.  I'd use the casino.

You should have just told them that you are a dancer/performer, and it was tip money. 😃😋

We were planning to divide a number of $100 bills between us along with small bills.  Staying 3 nights in Ft. Lauderdale  along with cab fares, tips, and extra tips onboard may delete our small bill stash.  In other words,  we don't want a hold-up the TSA line over a large wad of small bills.

Thanks to all that have replied.

I picked up 3 packs of ones, one large pack of fives from the bank prior to our 4 weeks currently on Wonder.  Plus I bring larger bills I can easily break down with GS or the casino.  Never a problem.  Need small bills for drink tips and meal tips.

Different this cruise, being in Europe, I also ordered Euros in advance to use in ports for small items, tips, and taxis.

CORALC...................At 70+ I'd have to PAY for someone to watch me dance!!  We've had more than one cat run away after I sang in the shower.  If I did dance I'd be paying the Orthopedic Surgeon big bucks for a new hip.

I bring $500 in small bills all the time.

We have never had an issue at the airport or anywhere

TSA does not care about money nor can they do anything about it.

OK...I'm calling BS on this.

Lehto's Law on YouTube.  He has several videos about civil asset forfeiture.

"By working together, TSA and law enforcement officers have found creative ways to seize U.S. Currency from travelers for civil asset forfeiture proceedings."

They can call local authorities or DEA if they think you are transporting cash for/from drugs. Those agencies certainly can confiscate it.

But, no they aren't screwing with amounts like $500. Take $5-10k in cash through and they are going to ask questions.

"Data from 21 states show half of all currency forfeitures are worth less than $1,300, hardly the stuff of vast criminal enterprises and far less than it would cost to hire an attorney to fight back."
