grapau27 Posted June 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Thank you for today's daily reports Rich @richwmn. As a sales representative for 45 years it would be unwise of me to take a dog to work with me in the car all day but it would be great company. Without food trucks our food would not get to our supermarkets so good for them to have a day in their honour. Today's food sounds delicious. Good wishes for all Dailyites friends who are unwell. I hope everyone is safe and y'all have an enjoyable day.

StLouisCruisers Posted June 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Good morning friends! I have a temp of 63 and sunny skies today! High will be around 86. Hope we can dry out a little bit now. Today is a great day in our family -- our firstborn's birthday. DD turns 51 today and I wish her all the best.❤️🎂🥳 Thank you Rich @richwmn for posting the Daily and Fleet Report for us. Well, well. International Fairy Day. Have you ever been someplace that had fairy doors? I have and it's very weird! A salute to the food trucks out there. Those people work hard! And even if I had a dog I don't think taking it to work would be a good idea. Your mileage may vary. 😉🐶 The quote sounds good to me. I would love to hear how you make sweet and sour chicken so awaiting word from Debbie @dfish. The drink sounds above and beyond. Dixie @summer slope, what do you say about that? Why so many names for a wine? All I can tell about it is it's probably from New Zealand. Ann @cat shepard thanks for helping to describe today's wine for us. Good for Pablo Picasso having his first exhibition on this date in 1901.🎨 Prayers for everyone on the Care list this morning. Hoping for better news for all of you! Personal prayers for DB after his fall yesterday. He may or may not be undergoing rotator cuff surgery for his pain, but sees his orthopedist on Tuesday to talk about it. Also prayers for my friend's DB who she will be visiting in Florida his birthday week in July. Hoping they make more memories together. 🙏 Three hurrahs for the Celebration list people! Let's see some more cruising out there. 🚢🚢🚢 A big thanks to Vanessa @JazzyV for keeping the lists updated at all times. Today's port is Kagoshima City, Japan or I'd guess just plain Kagoshima. We had this Japanese port on Oct. 5, 2021 so I'll put the link below for your convenience. I have not been to very many Japanese ports and this is another one of them. Please feel free to post your photos. Hoping everyone here has a wonderful Saturday! 24

Rare puppycanducruise Posted June 24, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) Good morning. Thanks for the Report. It's rainy and foggy here this morning. It may clear up and be sunny late this afternoon. No complaints, it's warm and we need the rain. A good collection of days. I have never seen a fairy in my garden. I enjoy food trucks on occasion, they often make great french fries and sandwiches. I never took a dog to work, but Bertie would love it. Not sure I agree with the quote. The meal sounds good, looking forward to seeing the recipe. I hope the drink and wine are good too. I have never been to today's port. Prayers for everyone on the Care List. Cheers for all the celebrations. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to your DD! @Sharon in AZ Happy Birthday!🎂 Have a great day everyone. aliaschief Posted June 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Good morning/afternoon. We are in Cherbourg along with another beautiful day dwarfed with Cunard’s Queen Victoria along side. We elected to stay onboard and basically take a day off as have been here before. We have the outdoor spa and therapy pool to ourselves. We have a late departure tonight and that means White Night BBQ and dance party. Lot’s of great music from our so talented entertainers. Most guest wear all white and it turns out to be quite the party. Pretty sunrise this morning. Thanks for the reports. Bruce 30
Rare rafinmd Posted June 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. A warmer but wet Saturday here. I have a neighbor that owns a food truck (well, actually a food trailer) that's often parked on my street. I'll pass on the other 2 days as well as the quote. I can't really understood Picaso although he was a true master. Not really sure about the meal but today I don't have an alternative. Still doing post-op meds for almost another week but very little pain. Roy

kochleffel Posted June 24, 2023 #12 Share Posted June 24, 2023 No dog to take to work, and today is not a work day anyway. I think that the meaning of "food truck" probably intended must be specific to this side of the pond. I mostly avoid them because of concern about sanitation, but a friend is part-owner of a Firehouse Subs franchise that I think is safe. Yes on the chicken, no on the drink. The wine is probably unobtainable here. It appears to be a Bordeaux blend so I could substitute Wagner Meritage 2020 from the Finger Lakes. My retirement celebration is today and I'm dreading it. I didn't want it to take place at all and my conditions for it were (1) no speeches and (2) no gifts, but I've been warned that neither condition will be met. 21
Rare 0106 Posted June 24, 2023 #13 Share Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) Happy Saturday! We will soon be leaving for the farmers market. I look forward to local tomatoes, corn and peaches. I love visiting food trucks. I frequently enjoy them at breweries or wineries. The best one I ever ate at was on the North Shore in Hawaii. Take Your Dog to Work Day was yesterday. It is always the Friday after Fathers Day. This pup is worn out from a hard day at work. Positive thoughts to those who need them. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising. cat shepard Posted June 24, 2023 #15 Share Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) Thank you for today’s R & D, Rich! Bindi and I had this morning’s walk in sunlight! And then it disappeared behind a huge cloud bank. It would be nice if it were just a marine layer, but if it is true to this week’s weather pattern - we have more rain coming. My flowers & plants are so happy! The locals are finding lots to eat - this young one was fascinated by Bindi. And my pool’s water temp is 90.9 - even with all this rain! Vanessa, thank you for taking such great care of “the lists”. Zumba, Bindi walks, chores and dinner at a friend’s should keep me busy. Prayers for all who need our support. @smitty34877 Terry, extra prayers for Lou, you, your clan & Lou’s medical team. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Get well & stay well everyone! ********** Craggy Range Hawkes Bay Sophia Gimblett Gravels 2020 Another elusive New Zealand wine. Some distributors refer to it as a red blend. Some refer to it as a Merlot. A few mentioned Merlot & Cabernet Franc, but I could not find the specifics of what % of each was included. I found an Australian distributor that ships to me - $84.50 + shipping. Cameron Douglas’ notes - 95 Complex, youthful and seductive bouquet with a core of ripe Doris plums and smoky black olive, black currant and baked berries are laced with vanilla and clove scents from barrel with a layer of wood smoke. Youthful, complex, ripe and engaging. Delicious on the palate with weight and a youthful intensity, firm tannins and strong acid line. The soft sweetness from the melot ushers in the darker berry fruit flavours and dried herb qualities from the cabernets. A strong structure, plenty of new oak flavours with ripe fruit at the core this wine will ensure it ages well with best drinking from 2024 through 2034. 95 Points - Outstanding Edited June 24, 2023 by cat shepard 23 9
smitty34877 Posted June 24, 2023 #16 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Good morning. We have another rainy day here and hope it can do something to improve the drought conditions.I had a great aunt who always told us stories about the fairies and leprechauns. She was very entertaining. We have not been to Japan and would like to know more about the recipe. The quote is interesting. Mr Picasso in 1901 is amazing. We have food trucks around here that range from the hot dog guy to fancy Mexican food. DD and DSIL are fans but I am leery. @cat shepardThank you so much for your encouraging prayers and words. We really appreciate it. @Sharon in AZ, a very Happy Birthday! @StLouisCruisers, Happy Birthday to your DD. My DD turns the same age in August. @kochleffel, Paul, I hope the retirement party is manageable and that you can enjoy it….or be relieved when it is over! Rare kazu Posted June 24, 2023 #17 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Thanks for our Saturday Daily, Rich. Nice collection of days. Food trucks have some great food and we have several here. Best ones we saw were on our South Pacific cruise - and the food was yummy. Since my ‘work’ is done on my Ipad or laptop, Ivan is always at ‘work’ with me. Love fairies & faery mythology. Explored some of their spots on a cruise. Interesting quote - not sure if it is true all the time. Nice to mark Picasso’s first exhibition at the young age of 19. There are a number of his works in our house (not originals 😉). DD DH was a huge fan & museum visits when in certain cities with his works were always a must. Sandi @StLouisCruisers a very happy birthday to your DD 🙂 Sharon @Sharon in AZ Happy Birthday to you. Hope it is a great one! @kochleffel a very happy retirement! Hope you can enjoy your celebration 🤞 and a happy anniversary to DD DH in heaven. Prayers for those on the Care list & for those that need them and cheers 🥂 to those celebrating. Rare ottahand7 Posted June 24, 2023 #20 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Good morning everyone Thank you for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn. No dogs to take to work in the garden. We do hit food trucks rarely for barbeque. Today's quote fits our life, pays planned tho not meticulously and our nights are sleep, our dreams take where they may. I like Sweet and Sour chicken and it is a rare treat. Pass on the sweet drink and the rare wine. Thanks for researching these for us. I am looking forward to today's port photos. @St Pete Cruiser and @aliaschiefthank you for the lovely photos today. @JazzyV thanks for the Cares and Celebrations reports. Prayers for all needing them and the people of Ukraine. My toe feels a lot better today and it seems a lot of the slow bleeding has stopped. I got a tetanus shot four years ago when I had my last ER visit for a shin wound. I remember it because it hurt and the pain in my arm lasted for days. We got about an inch of badly needed rain last evening and more due over the next two days. Have a lovely Saturday. Nancy 24

Cruzin Terri Posted June 24, 2023 #24 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Good afternoon to all, I am posting while most are still off the ship and the bandwidth is better. Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet report and to Vanessa for the Cares and Celebration List. Also a big thanks to Debbie, Ann and Dixie for keeping us fed and hydrated. I like the quote, but have not been to the port. Prayers for those who need them and cheers to those celebrating—Sandi, happy birthday to your DD. We ventured out today in Kiel, but there is not much to do here. There is a water festival going on and we went over there for a while, but decided that we would take it easy today. Yesterday we were in Skagen, Denmark. (Pronounced Skane), which is on the very northern tip of the Jutland. We took a ship tour (not my usual thing, but I have to say that this was quite good. Our first stop was to Grenin where we boarded a “Sandworm,” which is a trolly pulled by a tractor. It took us to the northern tip of Denmark where the Baltic and North Seas meet. If one so wishes you may remove your shoes and socks and put one foot in each sea at the same time. Many did this, however, we did not. It was fun watching people enjoying this. Very windy. We then went to St. Nicholas Church, of which only the tower remains. The rest of the church was buried by the moving sands in the area. Again, you could climb the tower but we chose not to. Got to preserve my knees. Lastly, Skagen is known for the artist community of the 18 century that produced many paintings. There is a museum dedicated to them and it was interesting to see their works. It was a good tour. I have photos on my phone. However I had trouble getting to move over to my IPad. Going to work on that now and try to post them. Hope everyone has a good Saturday. God Bless, Terri
