Today is the day!!! 😁 Sailing on the Seaside

Sitting here in our hotel room anxiously awaiting time to head to the port. We stayed at the Courtyard Kennedy Space Center in Titusville. GPS says we’re 22 minutes from the port. This hotel is new and very nice.  They gave us a free upgrade to a river view room. I don’t know how much the rooms cost, because we were able to use our annual free voucher.  Breakfast is available but not included, which is fine.  We were prepared and brought protein bars. They have a mini Starbucks so the coffee is good.

This will be our first cruise with MSC and from what I’ve read here and on FB, our expectations for the yacht club are very high!

I plan to!  Thanks!

Good Luck. Port Miami  is closed due to marine accident this morning.

No vessels in or out for now. Seascape is at anchor outside the port.

Sorry to have this news for you.

We have sailed the Seaside twice, both times in the YC...you're going to love it! Only odd thing was having to go up or down 1 deck to go to the back of the ship due to the location of the specialty restaurants. This was changed on the later versions of this class of ships like the Seascape. But we loved it overall. Hard to find shade at the YC pool, but plenty of chairs so no need to be a chair hog at 6am in the morning! LOL

Enjoy. Was on this ship a month ago. The specialty restaurant bar has the best cocktails on the ship. The bread station in the main buffet will make great sandwiches. Ask your butler to schedule for a pizza delivered when you get back one night. Nothing like a fresh pie when you get back to your room after partying. Previous post mentioned shade at the pool. Depending on capacity your butler may be able to reserve you a cabana for free.

If the OP is watching this thread, Carnival is doing a great job updating social media. I'm not seeing updates from MSC yet so I hope this information I posted in another thread will help.

Sadly there was a fatality accident around 3:30 a.m. that has closed Government Cut to cruise vessels. The Seascape, NCL Escape, and Carnival Celebration are all waiting patiently at the entrance to the port. The Coast Guard posted at 1:00 .p.m. that they need to clear the channel of the sunken vessel. No salvage has begun. No estimated reopening times have been posted.

Not sure what is happening with MSC, but Carnival has opened the bars, is playing a movie on the lido, and gave all passengers waiting to embark $20 to eat in Miami. At this time passengers are being told to wait until at least 4:00 p.m. before arriving at the port.

For those embarking (or debarking) today, you may want to sign up for these text messages from CCL. I know it's not MSC but it seems that CCL is doing the best job posting updates on Social Media.  CCL3 to CRUISE ( 278473)

We are loving it so far!  They are really pampering us. The butler wouldn’t let me roll my own suitcase, nor my husband carry my bog bag on the ship. He took them from us and carried them on. The same again when our room was ready, which was around 1:00. The butler took our belongings and escorted us to our room.

Thanks. Got Seaside confused with Seascape. Apologies to OP.

No worries!

Day 1 was amazing!  If this continues, we will most likely book our next yacht club cruise while onboard this week.

Do it! You get a few benefits including double points, OBC, and ability to push out dates multiple times. I kicked myself as we were one day late to get the additional 5% off for being 6 months out 😮

For us, on Divina, it continued...

We left the ship with another cruise booked for Feb.

Yacht Club is addictive 🙂

So happy to hear you're having such a good time! Our first cruise on MSC was in the Yacht Club on Seaside and we loved it. Since then we've been in YC on the Meraviglia and the Seashore and have a 14-day trip next February on the Seascape. Can't wait for those and looking forward to hearing more about your experiences on the Seaside. Enjoy!

Oh no!  We would be booking for next summer.

I can see how!  Dh was the hard one to convince but now that he’s on here he seems to be all in for the suite life!  Lol

It’s so quiet and relaxing in the yacht club!  Service has been amazing!  The restaurant, lounge, and pool deck were quiet!  Very few people around and the ones that were around were super friendly. Loved getting escorted past the line at the theater last night!  Hoping to enjoy day 2 as much as day 1. Dh liked the bed and pillows but I found the bed a bit firmer than I like and would have preferred a fluffier pillow. I’m going to see if I can get a mattress topper and pillow menu. At home we have a TempurPedic split king. His is firm and mine is medium so it’s impossible to please us both with the same mattress. Last night we both had prime rib which was very good. We ordered room service for breakfast. His egg biscuit was good but my waffles were cold, like out of the refrigerator cold. (Only bad thing so far) Tomorrow we’re going to either the restaurant or the poolside grill for breakfast.

We are currently docked at Ocean Cay. I’ve been looking forward to this since we booked!

😀. It sometimes takes two mornings to convince YC Restaurant and Pool One Grill ‘that yes, I want my pancakes or waffles fresh and hot, I want butter to actually melt.’ 😀. This is one time when the buffet can outshine YC. You can generally have the cooks make them fresh right while you are standing there.

I feel like I should comment on one of,the perks mentioned above.
Ability to change dates multiple times-  This seems to be a verbal promise, not policy.

It has been reported here on CC that others who booked onboard and were told they could reschedule multiple times , were denied .
MSC did not allow them to change beyond the 1 change/ 90 day contract YC policy.
Confirmation from someone onboard would help clear this up.
Can you get it in writing before putting down deposit?

wish you a great cruise,

MSC is not perfect but love the Seaside and the yachtclub there very much. Great area with the private sun deck and lounge and great staff.

And you can walk from the sun deck to the aurea sun deck and the middle/aft are of the top deck.

At gala dinner the ice pyramid is my favourite dessert.

And if you are hungry you can order more courses, for example 2 entrees or so, that is no problem.
